The bench cheese definitely happens the most for quarter length 10 minutes and up. I rarely had this with ~8 minute quarters.
I'm currently in the Finals against the Bulls and thought lets set the quarter to 10 (I usually play at 8). The score is tied when I get on the bench and when I come back the Bulls lead by 15.

I almost think this has to be a bug because there is almost no chance of you coming back from that on higher difficulties. And even if you somehow do you will get on the bench by the time you catch up.

I did cheese out and Alt+F4 the game. What I will do now is play the first match of the finals again and let it play out on the bench, i.e. don't skip it. I HAVE to see what is going on when I'm on the bench and whether this happens without skipping that part too.

This bugs me even more than the stupid teammates. I would go as far as saying that this is downright broken!

Damn, my Pistons GM is active. Second trade in a couple of weeks, after Smith was traded for Gortat, Augustin and KCP have now been traded to Minny for Martin and Lavine. Mixed feelings, Loved passing out to Augustin and KCP, but Martin should be great from 3 as well, hopefully I also see some time with Lavine, he must be fun on the break.

He gets 4 attempts at the basket, grabbing 3 offensive rebounds with 4 guys around him and then even the and-one? I was close to breaking the controller!

I currently play for Minnesota & yes LaVine is a lot of fun on the break. He also posterizes people too. He & Wiggins are my 2 favs to play with. The new lob city maybe?

No that doesn't seem to be realistic. I watched it a few times while paying attention to the opposing team & it seems their reactions were 'designed', if you will, to allow the shooter to get all of those rebounds

If you watch the video & pay attention to the, how shall I say this, POTENTIAL REBOUNDERS, you'll notice that their reactions to the ball are not realistic @ all.

The weird thing I noticed while sitting on the bench was that a few rebounds snapped in the other guys hand even though Howard (I'm in Huston) was perfectly placed and the ball was right above his hand it snapped suddenly to the guy behind him.

So now that I played the match without skipping the bench time:
Shooting percentage was (10 min quarters):
1st bench time: My Team 30% - Other Team 45%
2nd bench time: My Team 37% - Other Team 50%

All in all watching my team while sitting on the bench was atrocious. They did just pass the ball around the 3 point line while standing on one spot for a long time until the time runs out and then shoot from a 3 pointer. Most points came from offensive rebounds that way. At least there was no sudden 15 point lead for the other team like when you skip that part... I still lost though, my 49/5/9 wasn't enough apparently...

Just played the 2nd match in the finals with 8 minutes. No bench cheese, I almost lost it though but that would have been 100% my fault. In the end we won 79-76. I also have the feeling that my team plays better with 8 minutes. Could be less fatigue?
I'll continue to play with 8 minute quarters which I personally prefer due to my limited time and the fairer chance of winning.

Anybody else having issues with bench players in their warmups just STANDING on the court in the way of gameplay? If not then I think I'm gonna take the game back to GameStop & just swap it out for a new 1....

Luckily that hasn't happened to me yet.

I did just skip the bench time again and when I came back our lead increased from 5 to 20! So the bench-cheese also works backwards, which is equally not fun! I don't think the Bulls scored one bucket the time when I was on the bench lol this is broken as f***

Edit: I did win by 29 points btw lol

Been getting good results from my team lately as long as I limit my shots. They added in the shooters fatigue but I disagree with that being added.

High school players take 500 shots to practice. Kobe won't quit until he makes like (it's over a thousand). If my guy is wide open and has been on fire all night it shouldnt change

You dont, you get the shoes free only in Mycareer but like if you wanted those same shoes at the park youd have to buy em.

As far as I can tell shooter fatigue works like this

Shot attempts:

1-19 Nomal

20-24 Danger: A shots go to C shots. You'd better be wide open. Also 3s are probably a bad idea. Dunking is also not recommended unless you're hot, or there's a little guy down low.

25-29 Don't take 3s at all. Even 2s are an adventure. Don't shoot off the dribble, or take any "iffy" shots. Shoot like you did when you got your first 10 day contract.

30+ give it up. Stop shooting, don't even try. If you're lucky enough to get a fast break then maybe take that, but that's it. This includes put backs on Orebounds. Just dribble it out and pass the ball around, your guy is useless.

At this point in my career I've taken to watching my shot attempts more than anything. This last game against the Cavs I just knew I was going to lose because I think I put up like 21 shots before the half. Sounds like a lot, but I remember I was shooting like 70+%. After the half I didn't even try to continue the streak. I believe I ended the game with 29 shots, but I know we did win. I accepted that I'd be useless shooting the ball and did other things on offense. At this point it's the only thing you all can do.
