It's not because of the team chemistry it's because we are a super team. Seriously think about it:
PG: Westbrook, arguably one of the 5 best in the league
SF: KD, arguably top 2
PF: Serge Ibaka, defense wise probably top 2 or 3
C: me, rated 90, so the best damn Center in the league
How the hell do you lose games with a team like that? Seriously. If Lebron would have had either a top defensive Center or a top Point Guard at Miami they would have won everything and beaten everyone. Their only weakness was playing small ball and you could see that in their loss to the Mavs and to San Antonio. Same goes for the Cavs now. You have him and Irving, but not a really good Shooting Guard, if that dude developes fair enough, a really good Power Forward but again basically no Center and nobody with a decent Post Game. So again... fairly trigger happy and small ballish. Well my Thunder can play all of that: shooting from the outside and midrange, Post Game, Post Defence, Fast Breaks etc. who on earth is gonna beat that team? You have 3!!! players who put up at least 20-25 a night and in most cases more, you have 3! players who get at least 5 assists each and one player able to grab nearly 30 boards a night. Three players able to block at least 2 shots a night and 2 able to get up to 4 steals a night.
How will you beat them? Shoot from the outside? They will simply double team you and rely on their bigs to close the middle or funnel you in the middle. Go inside? You will get destroyed and owned by my player and Ibaka. Midrange? Ibaka, Durant and me are far too quick to allow you to get that shot of uncontested.
How you are gonna defend them? Fast Break? We have 5 players who run the fast breaks or start it, not one or two or three but 5! 5 options. Ibaka and me inside, Westbrook or Lamb outside or Durant and Westbrook penetration = unstoppable.
Outside shooting? Doesn't matter, we set hard screens and get our little guys inside and if not, take the ball and me and Ibaka do the Pick and Roll and just slam dunk all over the place because who is gonna stop a 7'2 280 pounds guy with Atheleticism maxed?
4 guys with a reliable midrange jumper if that doesn't work. And if that doesn't work we still have the pick and roll and penetration game. Furthermore the OKC playbook is really well balanced, the plays actually adjust themselves over time so there are always 2-3 options how to play them and they get everyone involved.
Seriously what is unrealistic is, that a team like that would ever exist. It does however because OKC traded away Reggie Jackson, Ibaka, Westbrook and KD have enough Bird years to be signed over the cap and I was comparitevely cheap with 5 Mio a year. Basically it's what could have happened for the Cavs: Dwayne, Bosh and Lebron with enough Bird years and you could sign Howard. OKC could have actually kept Harden since he also had enough Bird years etc. There simply haven't been any teams since Boston and the Lakers in the 80's that have had at least 4 of 5 players who were among the top in their position so not or barely losing is entirely possible. Chicago went 72-10.
