I guess I will share my "non-shoe deal" story...
Usually alternate every year in MyCareer between a PG and big man. Went with a 7'1 PF thinking most people aren't bigs in the park, and I wanted to swat a lot of shots offline. In my first season, went to Charlotte, and playing on pro nearly won every game for the rest of that season, surging to the playoffs where we won the title. Put up around 16-8 but wasn't recognized for rookie of the year, or on any of the all-rookie teams. I can't recall exactly when, but I definitely had the first meet up with Jackson Ellis in my first year. Feel like it was closer to when the playoffs started.
In my second season, I decided to sign with Brooklyn, moved up the difficulty and just today I finished up game 82. I really wanted to get the shoe deal, so I've constantly been looking at other's posts about it to see when they got theirs. Most seemed to say you had to play every game, and got it around the all star break, some closer to playoffs. So I played every game, like I did in my first year, hoping to get it around the all star break. That came, and I was in the rising stars, 3 point, dunk comp, as well as an all star starter with the most votes. Played it out to the rest of the season, and after game 82 still nothing. I tied KD for the scoring lead, won MVP, defensive player, all first team, all first defensive, the Nets went 71-11, basically got all the accolades you can. My player is a 93 overall with 95/100 unlocked, and I think around 27 badges, which seem to be coming every other game now.
I'll obviously play through the playoffs in this one, then probably request a trade and play 20-30 games into season 3, but it seems like it's never coming. I have the Sprint A deal, but never got anything from Sprite/Gatorade, and some of the endorsements I've completed, but they aren't unlocking. For instance, the Sprint B deal is be an all star and make the playoffs, but that won't unlock. There's another one for 4M fans which I have and can't unlock, and the one for 10+ assists in a game (which I've read can take multiple times) I've done but nothing. Seen a lot of posts about "asking Pharrell for help" which never came up for me, but I did meet him at least two or three times after a game.
Hopefully I'll make this post and after a few games I'll unlock it, but if I don't I think I'm just going to make a new character and see if this one is glitched.
All that being said... I absolutely love the mode. I'm grinding away for the shoe deal, but I wouldn't be playing all of those games if it wasn't great. Always loved MyCareer mode and it just keeps getting better and better every year. I think the new player upgrade system is pretty awesome, with the boost slots and badges being unlocked. Really my only gripe with the whole mode is having to wait around to be subbed in, and that damn shoe deal.
