Re: NBA 2K15 (Next Gen.) Official MyCAREER Thread

I just want to know why 2K puts a million post moves into this game every year, but CPU bigs NEVER use them. The only thing bigs do is a) wide open dunk, b) baby hook, or c) just take a weird, contested double clutch shot from the post with no moves preceding it.

Just once I'd like to feed it down to Greg Monroe and see him do an up and under, or a drop step, or throw some shoulder fakes and then hit an 8 foot turnaround. SOMETHING.

In other news, had my first 30 point game last game (31/7/4/1/1), best game of my career so far, was expecting some sort of cutscene to unlock, or somebody to acknowledge it on twitter. Nada. Pistons are 23-45. I don't really mind losing because I realize that bad teams lose a lot of games. I'll probably sign with another bad to mediocre team in free agency because I think it's more fun to build a team up and become the centerpiece rather than latching on with an established contender.

    Through 21 games my guy's Per 36 stats are 24.2 PPG/11.5 RPG/4.4 APG/1.4 SPG/1.5 BPG.
Unfortunately I've only averaged 13.6 minutes per game so my actual numbers are much lower lol.

Me and the bucks have won the last four games by double digits each time. It's the end of my rookie season(we only have 8 games left) and it seems like these guys have finally kicked it into over drive. Jabari dropped 25 last game and Henson had 20. It almost makes me not want to leave but then I think about the 20 game losing streak and the end of my contract looks like the gate to heaven. Still, we are 31-42, which is much better than I thought the bucks would do.

The 76ers are 6-67 though. Just felt like putting that out there.

Why doesn't my coach let him sit a few more games to recover fully from his injury? It makes no sense. Looks like the Trail Blazers are interested in me so I might not have to suffer through this much longer.
I'm doing the same (playing Center for the Pelicans) and I have noticed that AD pretty much only scores when he gets an offensive rebound. I'm actually running Monty's plays, and it seems like he almost never calls anything for AD. Meanwhile, Jrue and EG get PLENTY of shots.

Now, once your Center starts grabbing offensive boards, then AD pretty much gets nothing.

My solution has been to be the one to pass to AD. Plus side: A+ ratings are a heckuvalot easier with a bunch of assists...

I have to ask this question before I totally give up on this mode. Has anybody gotten Minnesota to the playoffs in their first year? Does it get better on different teams?

How do I intentionally foul under the rim?
CPU does this all the times given our 71% FT, and I'd like to spend some foul when I see horrible shooters that otherwise will get the bucket.
The intentional foul with the square doesn't work.

Anyway, last game with Orlando with the Nets, after that, free agency.

Re: NBA 2K15 (Next Gen.) Official MyCAREER Thread

ycareer nba2k15 is so trash this year.... your player and your teammates can't make wide open jumpshots and layups but players like emeka okafor and Chris bosh can knock down fade away 3pts with hands in their faces like Seattle Ray Allen or Reggie Miller.

everyone on the floor has psychic defense they know where you're passing to despite not even looking at the ball. everyone has a 99 on ball defense rating because you can't get around anyone despite your ball handling, badges, quickness or speed.

no one can finish at the rim the defense just knocks you out the sky with no fouls called. no one on your team despite their size or ability in the paint can finish in the paint... doesn't matter if it's Al Jefferson, Tim Duncan, Lamarcus Aldridge whomever they instantly because the worst finishers in the game. meanwhile, Roy Hibbert is doing drop step fadeaways from 12-15' splashing despite the defense.
don't even get me started on playing defense and how your player can't stay in front of anyone because a the 2k shoes are made of cinder block and the movement is as sluggish and clunky as ever. the ball handler despite who it is whether it's Chris Paul or Chris Birdman Anderson immediately become isiah Thomas with the handles and often dribble through your players arms, legs and body.

God forbid you actually tip the ball loose you have two results a. you player looks and wanders aimlessly looking for the ball he just knocked loose meanwhile the opposing players meaning the entire team. instantly knows where the ball is and often pick it up for an easy assist since your team becomes a bunch of bumbling keystone cops. or option b. it results in a kick ball violation almost instantly.

if your player gets beaten off the dribble regardless of who is in the front court... jokim Noah, d12, deandre Jordan, Tyson Chandler... it doesn't matter they never rotate over and block the shot or cut off the drive... they never make the opposition think twice about going up with the ball. they just stand there and let guards finger roll it like George gervin without ever leaving the ground. on the off chance that they do play D it always results in a trip to the stripe. there is no shot penalty for having a hand in the face of the shooter deadeye or not, close out defense doesn't work, on ball D doesn't work as the ball handler will just run you off double and triple screens and since your teammates have the defensive iq of a remote control button and they refuse to switch or rotate, it results in either a layup or free throws.

in fact the only way to stop the CPU offense from scoring is to block the shot manually which offers little solace because the ball goes directly back into the hands of the CPU for an easy bucket.

I can go on and on about the Bs for this mode

You've been talking about blowing open layups and things of that sort, and that's a problem I'm pretty sure is all on your end.. You gotta get your ratings up a little bit man. The gameplay is kinda broken, but if there's one guy on the floor that can score for your team, it's your player.

From my experiences, if you make an effort to play a really REALLY smart game and keep mistakes to a minimum, the games are a lot closer and you'll win at a decent rate.
So you're saying in the first paragraph.. ball hog and score as much as possible, the exact think 2K made us do in 2k14 to even have a shot..

Already make the effort and play the 'SMART' game.. I don't get turnovers that aren't forced by the bad gameplay.. i.e Pekovic etc handing me the ball in traffic for a turnover... or players forcing the ball back to me with no time on the shot clock to GET a shot off for that turnover.. passes to OPEN player who then stand and dribble then force a shot once they're guarded..

Even if I score it doesn't matter, we're down by a bunch again when I get back INTO games from the bench. Only as a starter have games been sort of closer, but the CPU team always runs away in the 4th when the rest of my team shoots 30% consistently. Team chemistry is almost 90% but the request for a pass is almost always ignored. The team offense is for Pekovic to set a pick for Rubio (or whoever the PG is since Rubio plays about 20 minutes for some reason) then Pek stands at the top of the arc with the ball. He won't pass it to me THEM, but he does all the time in traffic where I get a forced TO.

The last 2 games the shots/layups right under the basket have been better but the easy ones after an offensive board should be 80% (really should be 100%) for a guy in the NBA who doesn't have a defender within 4 feet after the rebound.

If you miss a DUNK in 2K check the replay.. I've seen a few that were actually MADE, replay shows them going through the rim and net.. and the game somehow made it a miss.

Well no that's not what I'm saying in the first paragraph.. I average 25 poinys with 8 assists on my point guard so it's not too difficult to spread the ball around.

Please tell me you're running plays... If you're letting your teammates freelance then you're going to see them do stupid things. ALWAYS run plays. If you already are then I don't know what to tell you man, nobody's experience has been as bad as yours. You've been eviscerating the game almost to an unfair point.
