Sorry, I have to disagree pretty big time with this whole gutting game modes philosophy.

Would a new engine potentially take the game to a new level? I suppose so. But can you imagine the absolute outrage if there wasn't any sort of franchise mode?

I remember a couple years ago when Madden removed the ability just to edit players in franchise mode and how much of a revolt there was. I literally can't imagine the rage if modes were completely stripped.

Yet people still waited in line next year to play it. Not suggesting remove like franchise or season modes. But for me, don't add modes till we get the gameplay just right

What is just right for you is completely different for someone else. I mean how do you even quantify 'just right'? It feels like you weren't happy with the gameplay for 2k14 and you just want to bring everyone else down to your level of disappointment by advocating the gutting of modes. Because 'not adding' new modes is not what gutting means. Gutting means removing the core aspects of modes, removing features and whatnot, it has nothing to do with not adding new stuff.

Take it from a 14 year EA NHL fan.....It's not worth it. However better the gameplay is, there will always be some bugs. And it's just not worth stripping down the game to solely focus on something that will always need improvement. See NHL 15 Sales... lol....

And everyone is forgetting to mention is that they tried it before with all pro football 2k8 which is still to this day is my favorite sports game ever its gameplay is still better than the current madden but no one supported it and they never got to make another one so they've been burned by that before Wouldn't make sense to do it with the biggest franchise they have

Sometimes, to me it doesn't matter about having a game full of modes, because I play a ton of sports games all year. For instance, FIFA 15 is a great game, I will normally play head to head in it, vs the CPU or other people rather than go into league etc, NHL same thing. Be A Pro, being lack luster this year hurts, but I'm honestly not going to stress over it, because it'll leave time for me to get into the 2K MyPlayer mode. I might just buy 2K for that mode alone. I'll buy NBA Live mostly for Ultimate Team.

Some may think it's crazy that I would pay full price for head to head only, but It doesn't bother me, as long as I enjoy it. Each game, at this point will have something I want in it, so it's not a really big loss for me personally.

Also I need to feed my obession for TitanFall somewhere in between lol

NBA 2K14 was one of the worst games in the series, on the court and off.

Online was terrible, first time in a long long time that I only played offline.
