OCT 10th release for EU players? Why do we have to wait a few extra days??

Is this delayed release date on PC only?

I've got my game pre-loaded and ready on my Steam account, but I gotta wait for 5 more fricking days for no apparent reason?
I did some research and it seems that the only explanation is that there is some archaic United Kingdom trade law about releasing new retail items on Friday?

This makes no sense, first because not all International gamers (myself included) are from the UK and second, it's a digital release, so what gives?

I'm from Germany and I also have to wait until Oct. 10th. It's like this every year. In Germany there's also (I don't know if it's) a law that new products like CDs or movies are released on fridays. It just sucks that we have to wait but I'm going to try to convince the guy from Gamestop to give me my preordered copy tomorrow.

There is no such law in Germany.
For a digital copy, you can create a psn US account to load the game today as described by some European users in my thread

I think its law or a regulation everywhere in eu that dictates games to be released on Fridays. The regulation in Usa is for games to always be released on Tuesdays.

Games like GTA, CoD and others get a worldwide release (always a Tuesday) even Alien Isolation which is out on Tuesday managed to get a worldwide release...I don't understand why 2k can't do the same.
Instead I gotta make a fake US PSN account just so I can play it the same time as everybody else.

2k was always this way... and there are ways around it too.

its not just 2k thing, a lot of video games release on Tuesday in the North America but on Friday in Europe.

Even Fifa which is more popular in Europe does this.

Its just the publishers fault. 2K always does this, what is retar.ded because especially on PC no one buys Retailversions anymore. Digital Release should be one Date worldwide.

I was quite intrigued by this topic and was happy to see someone post a link to an article that might explain it, but that is perhaps the longest article I've ever seen regarding a topic as mundane as release date preferences between world regions. I mean, I subscribe to a Medium.com blog about quantum physics that summarizes research papers in half as many words. Kudos to the author for the detail though.

Like I said, I didn't know if it was a law or not but releases are usually on fridays so it is a thing someone decided and forced upon us here in Germany. I know I can workaround that by downloading with a fake account but I'd like to have a physical copy that I can trade in afterwards so that is no way for me.

There are no oceans on the internet, but sadly the business is still tied to physical stores that have different times they want to release things for arbitrary reasons.

This has nothing to do with 2K. Games are released in Europe on Fridays. More or less all other games that are released on a Tuesday in the States is released on Fridays in Europe, so don't bash 2K for this.
