I live in a really big city and I bet there is not 1 midnight release, and even if there was - it would be the opposite of a "party"

I used to live close to DC and the midnight releases there on the MD side were ridiculous. I said I wouldn't do anymore midnight releases.

I've preordered and will just pick up the physical copy tomorrow.

As others have said...it depends on where you are, how "safe" that area is, how organized the gamestop is, and ultimately, how anxious you are to get it.

I will say this though...if you're going to go, see if you can get a friend or 2 to go with you. Better to roll deep

I'll be honest, it's really at the point where unless you are getting a collectors edition, its really more worth it to DDL it than get a physical copy....and thats if you don't do trade-ins.

we gotta go up there at 10 to make sure its all paid of and get a number for the line at 12

Have fun standing in line. I'll be at home, playing the digital version.

Last time I went to a midnight launch was for Modern Warfare 3. What a waste of time that was. I had some good laughs, though. There was a guy in full camo and night goggles in line, too. Maybe at midnight you'll see some guys who just got out of the park, lol.

I was wrong. There is one in toronto at a place on yonge st called gamerama near yonge and eg.

My question is, what if I didn't visit the store or call during business hours and just show up. Are midnight's pre-paid only or do they open up registers and the whole 9 yards?

Depends on the location I guess.

My old gamestop in MD used to do both. They had a line for people who prepaid and after that was over and served, they started selling the game to those who did not prepay.

Any ones Xbox1 digital download already pre ordered taking forever? The actual 46 GB download is preloaded...now the update is at 2% after 15 minutes. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The whole reason I went with xbox one (I have a ps4 as well) is because I thought mine would be preloaded and ready to go...

should have went with the ps4 version I guess.
