Gonna keep it short. I'm impressed with the short time I played.

This is what I expect to get when I pay $60. They really brought it this year. I'm not sure if I need another B-ball game this year after playing this. I just don't see how it can get better than this folks

It can but they've set up a nice foundation to build layers on top of.

youd better have a clean lane if you even want to think about dunking. Derozan coughed up the ball on a failed dunk then Ross did too shortly after. lovin it.

Any online impressions? Hoping for no input lag like last year, but I'm worried it'll be the same.

It still exist unfortunately. And with the added weight and momentum to players, its extremely difficult.

I didn't experience lag input at all. I did get disconnected from a game.

Offensively this game is extremely smooth, love it. Defensively it's very hard to stay in front of your man, conversely on offense it's very easy to get past your CPU man with a few moves (Superstar/Sim) So the defensive part of the game needs work to me, unless I'm doing something wrong.

Halftime show is terrible, Sprint should revoke their sponsorship.

Cons:

Just played a couple of games, I must say, from a gameplay point of view I have been pretty disappointed. There's some kind of lag in input or something because my defenders get completely lost, I use the shot stick when driving to the basket and instead my player does a cross over dribble. It's like the players are slow to react, but when they do, they look like the roadrunner on cocaine, just way too fast and jerky, it's weird to me. Dribbling doesn't feel fluid it feels way to quick, I just tried to perform a simple crossover and all the sudden my guy is underneath the basket. There's no smooth, fluid player movement, it's an eye sore and I feel like the game is playing me more than I am playing it.

I had Lance Stephenson perform a dunk that made it look like his vertical was around 46 inches. Al Jefferson had a dunk that was more Dwight Howard than Big Al. Both Jefferson and Stephenson usually get just enough air under them on their dunks to get it over the rim, but they look like high fliers.

Passing with X (or A) is still terrible; saw a guy cut to the basket, tried to hit him real quick with X, nope my player decided it'd be best to throw a cross court pass to the corner. WAY WAY WAYYYY too many overhead passes.

A lot of the contact animations under the basket are way too big and over dramatic.

Every time I just try to turn around with my PG when taking the ball out, he turns and SPRINTS up court, SLOW DOWN!

Pros:

Looks as good as ever, that's never really been the problem

Some of the new rebounding animations are really nice, as well as some of the dunks. Had a reverse under the basket by Leonard that looked like Vince Carter that looked really cool.

The offenses are really cool, they keep the court spaced well and the players off the ball are constantly moving, really nice; Czar's input is obvious in this aspect.

I'll post again later, but for me, my biggest gripe is that the players are just moving way too fast (when they do move) and are reacting too slow. Like Al Jefferson missed a layup down at the basket, no big deal, but his animation plays out so long that he can't even attempt to get his own rebound. That's really irritating when the ball is right there in front of his face and a defender just jumps in and takes it before his animation is through.

Yeh even in simulation it's a little Arcady to me. Player movements are fast and jerky.

Quick Impressions:

Played two goes online, no lag. This is a major accomplishment considering, I couldn't do a head to head match last year at all!

Off-line has been buttery smooth like everyone else is mentioning.

Graphics, wow.

I played Rubio and Wiggins online, Wiggins is athletic as a mugg! Also played with the Magic, Elfrid Payton will pick your pocket! My boy thought he was slick and tried to crossover in front of him twice and it got swiped both times.

Started a myGM with the Blazers right away and played the first game of the season vs. the Thunder. 8 min quarters on All-star, ended up winning 91-88. FG% was a little high, so i'll play on simulation next. LA had 31 and 10, Dame had 27 and 6. Westbrook and Reggie Jackson were really tough to guard. Gameplay and animations are real smooth. Player faces are jaw-dropping since this is the first time i've played a next-gen 2K game. MyGM is very deep as well, but i'm still not a fan of player's getting mad so quickly. Chris Kaman is getting 16-20 mins a game and is mad he isn't starting… He should know his role. That's not a big deal though, loving the game so far.

What do you have it at? I may have to lower it to 20-30? Problem is I can't lower sliders when playing online. And that's my primary mode.

Head-To-Head is not exactly "laggy" but it feels very sluggish on my end. Extremely frustrating seeing as that's the only game mode I frequently play.
