finally….i've been asking for this for years. if there's a defender in the way, people should not just be able to knock the defender aside for dunks. trying to drive into a defender should be considered a BAD shot and should be punished with a failed attempt.

I don't remember, but if you slow the game speed down, doesn't that slow down the actual game clock? I play with full 12 minute quarters and that takes long enough as it is.

I mentioned earlier that I put player speed and quickness at 47. Sliders are working great so far.

      Excellent game. More to come...

This. Every input was late, it's as if I were playing via streaming service ala PS Now. Outside of that, the overall performance online feels like 2K14. Shot releases between online and offline modes will drive most players nuts. It's almost one set of game modes or the other.

Users on defense can still create quasi double and triple teams to force the ballhandler into some undesired animations. Combine that with the delayed inputs and we have some awful passes being thrown and intercepted.

Also, does anyone think offensive rebounding is a bit OP? I've played a few games with Detroit and Golden State and each game was decided by simply owning the glass. Using Detroit, I was matched against Cleveland twice, and shot around 45% from the field in both, yet had a +10 advantage on the glass. I used the Warriors against the Pelicans online and offline (superstar) and the Pelicans dominated the glass. Every shot I blocked, ball I poked loose, and misses forced led to Davis and Asik immediately cleaning up. I thought the Cavs and Warriors had some above average glass cleaners if not elite level?

        Other notes:

I'm disappointed with the user interface. Why aren't rosters not thrown under the "options" hierarchy? Why are playbooks and general team settings unavailable in the main menu?

I'm not overly fond of playing a quick game just to see the playbook. Why can't 2K be similar to madden in regard to customizing playbooks, depth charts, and team settings which are universal? Why is the V.I.P. system still overly stripped down? Why can I only read about my opponents during a loading screen and not any relevant information about my own game?

Do I have to wait until 2K16 for basic additions to a user interface?

Also, why is practice tucked away into NBA today? It just seems so counterintuitive.

Small sample size team wise though.
I've played my last few games with speed on 44 (the same as I had it on last year) and really like it.

Last night I played my first game in my "practice" MyLeague to see if it plays any differently than Quick Games and I'm happy to report that it doesn't.

I played a playoff matchup in Year 2... My Pacers against a Rondo/Oladipo lead Magic team and I think the biggest lead all game was 8 or 9 points. I didn't see any crazy runs like you would frequently see in 2K14 either. The game ended up going into OT where my team when cold and I didn't help matters with a couple of ill-advised passes. I lost.... again... bringing my record to 0-5 on All Star.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, my three favorite things about NBA 2K15 (gameplay wise) is passing, the responsiveness on D and the CPU AI (running plays effectively, players playing like themselves, looking to the post, passing efficiently). From a gameplay aspect alone this game is worth the upgrade and that's not even taking into account the modes.

The game is far from perfect but in my short time with the game, I can already tell that it's going to consume by "video game playing life". It's 8:30 a.m. here and I'm already thinking about what my rotation is going to look like for my Celtics. It's going to be a long day... #mytimehascome #leggo

Re: ***Official NBA 2K15 Impressions Thread***

I've been playing 2k since, 9-9-99. And just like many of you here, I grew up playing double drible, and every game in between. I still think Run N gun is the most fun I've ever had playing a basketball game, but that's for a different thread.

I played a game this AM before work after doing the digital download pre order which went really smooth for me. If you are weary doing a preorder on the PSN, it's worth it. The game was done downloading and install by 4pm on Sunday.

I fired up Cavs Vs. Spurs. I wanted to see the swing motion offense, and how the CPU ran it. I also was interested to see how the new look Cavs look.

(No particular order, just random thoughts)
Pros: The game feels smooth, fluid, and presentation was been taken the level that is pretty much expected now days. I enjoyed the pre game talk with Ernie and Shaq, and they talked about Manu instead of the easy topic which is Lebron. I hope this does not become repetitive over time, but I'm sure it will.

I enjoy the momentum, and it does not feel sluggish at all. Momentum jumpers felt good. I almost feel confident shooting mid range jumpers

The shooting meter is a nice touch. Using a team you don't know, this will help time your shot. I was able to get the timing down with a few shots.

Maybe it's a placebo effect, but I felt like good defenders played tighter, but I'm not sure.

The offensive sequences were great, the spurs moved the ball well. Timmy had a few great shots from the high post, and he hit cutters. Also Splitter ended up at the top of the key a few times which is a real life set the Spurs run.

The contact animations were nice, I had a few "no calls" and calls. Nice variety, and it felt like weight mattered.

The new rim sound was awesome and the time out screen has a lot of information

              Defensive adjustments ARE BACK, FINALLY!

The playsystem seems better, but I didn't dig into it, yet.

The crowd actually felt like were watching the game. All the proper owww's and ahhhh's were there.

Manual passing led to some sequences.

I was able to close the game with no heroic combacks.

              Cons:
Can you walk the ball up the court? It seems like it's just one speed in this game. I used to like when the point guard will call out a play with one hand.

The euro step is no longer mapped to the shot button twice. I'm not sure where it's at, but I don't like the change.

The lack of NPC's from the baseline makes the stadium feels empty at times, and so does the dim stadium.

I still don't have the explosive first step, sigh.

On the lower settings like pro the spin move is way too effective

When the play breaks down, or you are playing good D. The computer sometimes tosses up a bad shot. I mean bad, like 2-3 feet behind 3 point line contested.

I hope that the "2k ish" is gone. Just stupidness that seems to happen during crunch time.

No intro, and also the first menu is weird with no music

Long load times. Thank God Ernie and Shaq are there.

Pull starters in a blow out game? Not point in having the starting players up by 20 with 2 mins to go.

              --

Just my quick one game impressions. I hope to add more soon. I'm excited for this game, and I really enjoyed it thus far. Hope to see you all online!

Not only is Carmelo a "BALL HOG" he's one "Streaky Mofo" End of 3 qtrs and he's 17-26 fg's. 42 pts and 9 rebs.

Had a 7 pt lead at the half and this cat goes off in Melo fashion and ran off like 16/17 straight pts. Knick players were looking to feed him the ball. AMAZING 3rd qtr by the cpu Knicks. Kobe went cold. I'm guessing he's rusty???

Ended up winning this game in OT with a final score of 115-109 Lakers over the Knicks. Was tied at 102 at the end of regulation. Would never of had a score this low on previous versions without some type of human input/munipualation. Color me impressed

Re: ***Official NBA 2K15 Impressions Thread***

Have to say that my initial impression is that the gameplay is much improved from last year. Just the fact that guards are out running big guys on fast breaks is such a refreshing fix for this year that the game feels much different.

Personally I recommend turning game speed up to 55-60 range, feels a bit more like the real pace of at to me (I'm at 55 now and will adjust from there as I play more).

Cpu offensive movement is improved but still room to improve in future. But I'm happy with the progress from last year to this year so far.

Face scan is a bit tricky, I got it to work last night but it didn't turn out great. It does pick up your eyebrows and facial hair, but it doesn't give them a texture so it looks kind of strange to be honest, but still better than creating your face with their system.

The whole create a play face molding thing is not very good in my opinion. Seems like a rearranged and slightly dumbed down version of the cap process from last gen. I was expecting much more customization to be possible.

Oh, it's there. Shady turnovers and fouls one end that's not called at the other. It's a lot to like but once the shine wears off people will bring it up. Happened to me twice last night. The one I hate is when the PG just drop the ball in front of the defender for no apparent reason. The other thing is the CPU offensive rebounds. They get off the floor waaay too quick.

I'm on the same boat, though I'm too much of an NBA junkie to ever go through a season without a basketball video game.

My main issue through the years (granted, I haven't played offline in years) is that the CPU was simply not challenging enough, and that boosting the difficulty often resulted in gameplay that didn't feel organic.
