This whole offline lag needs a greater consensus. Lots saying it's there, lots saying it's not. And this type of thing is highly subjective. Lots will be playing just fine, then when they see lots of others complain about it, they all of a sudden can swear they can feel it too. Also, there will be a lot of variance between users with many screens being far better than others for input lag.

Hopefully a dev will come in and tell the community if offline input lag exists and how much is intentional.

This is definitely an issue and killing this otherwise great game for me. The game just doesn't feel as responsive as it should. Basketball is a game of extremely quick movements from one direction to the other and I don't feel that's replicated at all in this game. If anyone knows what sliders to adjust to make this more responsive please share them with me.

Its evident on every online mode today and the servers aren't even being stressed by those that own a ps4. What are they doing at 2k studios !!!

Re: Why is there sluggishness/input lag in 2K15?

Interesting. I haven't experienced and offline lag (PS4). I'm not a online player. (I only play online occasionally). But those who play online should never try to play 2k wireless. I realized this a couple years ago. lol Ever since I went wired a couple years ago my 2k online experience has been much much more consistent.

I'm sure 2k is hustling to get out a patch. It sucks for the people having issues. Hopefully things get ironed out sooner than later.

Re: Why is there sluggishness/input lag in 2K15?

I'm almost positive the sluggishness comes from the entire defensive system being rebuilt (to stop the zig zag cheese) which causes everything about this game to feel sluggish and slow in terms of responsiveness.

Going to be interesting to see if this ever gets fixed.

                  Highly doubt it will.

Re: Why is there sluggishness/input lag in 2K15?

This input lag was present in 2K14 and came back in 2K15 smh. 2K can never get some things right.

This is ridiculous because you cant play on ball defense properly with this lag. And I dont wanna sit back and let the CPU guard the ballhandler, that's boring.

Chris, if you are reading this, please make sure the devs fix this input lag as soon as possible. You guys didnt fix it last year, time to redeem yourselves.

IIRC, a rep said last year that it was intentional. They didn't say to what degree. But that it was to prevent users from inputting commands by mistake.

I haven't played enough to know if the lag has changed since last year, though.

This 1000x this. To add to this, what's bad is button logging. Sometimes I'll have so much trouble just trying to get my guy to jump even from a stand still that I'll hammer triangle. When my guy FINALLY jumps he'll recover then jump again even though it's been like 3-5 seconds since I last hit the jump button.

Re: "Realistic momentum" I call bull****. The look of the game needs to match the inputs. If 2K wants to tell me that a player should take 5 seconds to get from point A to point B fine, then make it look that way. Don't make me wait 2 seconds, then make my guy cover the distance in 3 seconds. The other problem is that the computer doesn't play by the same rules. Ever get pump faked on a shot? Takes your guy a long time to recover right? Not a problem I'm fine with this. Ever fake out the computer and try to drive? They can land and be right on you like it's nothing sometimes.

Furthermore it isn't consistent. Sometimes your guy is highly responsive other times they aren't. This leads to the constant juggling of over and under compensating on movements.

To give 2K the "benefit" of the doubt here I do believe that it's intentional. I don't think it's input lag, it's just a very poorly done movement system. I don't think most of you would say you have this problem on offense when dribbling the ball. It's mainly on defense, or on catch and shoot situations. I think it's combination of 2K trying to implement momentum and acceleration, and trying to go from one part of one animation to start another. Every now and then I'm quite positive that the game eats some inputs, so this is bad, but overall I don't think it's lag. Just good intentions and poor execution on the programming of movements.

Online is absolutely unplayable. I cant run plays because I have to press the pass button early to hit the man, but I'm unable to see if he is open or not. Usually resulting in bad passes.

This has to be close to number 1 priority? Fix the lag!

Same thing with blocks, and defense in general. It's push early and fall for the pump fake, or push late and watch the other guy score.

i have had moments where it seems like my player was elbowed in the gut. the just will not move. you can also feel feedback for no reason.

Sorry dude, no point in getting your hopes up. Chris can't do anything - he's not a dev, just a marketing puppet who's busy RT'ing face scans and how amazing the game is. He should at least ACKNOWLEDGE the issue, but he won't.

I waited all of last year for it to be fixed in 2K14, and it never was. 2K has lost my trust, and they should be in the running for worst company in America - constantly putting out a broken product year after year.
