Only issue I have with layups is that ridiculous push in the back animation that causes a miss when the defense is clearly out of position....should be a foul 100% of the time.

Other than that, I'm good TBH. I always finish with the opposite hand of the defense and pump fake myself open under the basket....works for me...

I only play on HOF. SIM settings is a little too hardcore for me. But if your playing on sim. You really need to pick your shoots and run some sort of offense. My cousins have getting blown out because they think it's 2k3. And they can do one dribble move to get by players and going into the lane and spamming the steal button. But even on HOF you need know what your doing. You can't just get in the lane. And stand there for layups.

For me I don't expect every layup/shot to go in. Even when wide open. It's kind of like playing in real life.

Its a matter of detail. There are a few scenarios where layups miss too easily like the one where nobody is in front of you and looks like you were pushed in the back. Then you have situations where the ballhandler drives into traffic and guys just fall down of move out of the way proving less defense inside than there should have been. The developers could address both sides and it could even out.

I dont mind missed layups on occasion. Stuff happens. But wide open layups being missed because there was a defender within 5 feet Is stupid. There are countless times im bumped and pushed and never get a call. I try pump faking and get them up and either I still miss or the ball comes near them knocking it out of my hands. Apparently players have the weakest hands in history.

Not sure what im doing wrong but my guy refuses to dunk too. Be wide open with full turbo and he just lays it up. Not sure why

What about a big man standing point blank in the paint. Say off an offensive rebound or drop off in the lane. I feel myself constantly missing these no matter how the defense plays it but my opponent gets these same things. And makes it. And I'm the one with my hands up , in good position, bodying up, and they finish at like a 95 percent clip. Bogut hit me for 22 solely on this. Must be something I'm doing?? Should I try not to work for my basket in the paint and just pumpfake and go up. Use square instead of shot stick? I have no idea and it's extremely frustrating.

^ don't be ridiculous you can't change the way to play, it's not a problem with user gameplay, it's a problem with animations.. (also what the hell kinda spam accounts do you have, something ain't right, double post with hella random usernames, Mods can we ban this automaton please)

I don't have a problem missing contested layups, but those wide open ones when in real life your man seals the defender or is wide open nobody between him and the hoop.... Lets say a big man, would go straight up using the closest path to the rim hands upwards to the rim, that's what would and should happen in real life but instead he ends up first wildly throwing his arm behind his whole body and then starts jumping backwards or sideways, basically any way except directly to the hoop looking out of control and off balance then trying to fling the ball in the hoop somehow from like 4 feet away from the rim when it really should have been a board or rim touching layup... Especially even though there is a defender behind or to the side, so it what guys do in real life is seal the defender with their body and go right up at the rim. There's a lot of very awkward around the hoop layup animations, and these are responsible for most of the misses on what should be easy 2 points.

That's the biggest problem with layups, these ridiculous animations that personally kill post play for me... I clinch my jaw everytime my big man down low is about to finish, because most of the time it's the ugliest stupidest animations in the game. It's why I just stick to simple hook shots and fade away jumpers when I'm in the post

While I am waiting for the season to start to get my Mygm going with up to date rosters, it's known that this game requires a decent slider set. I'm working on mine, I play 10 min quarters for Mygm, The shooting sliders are getting adjusted, rebounding sliders and the fouls too.

my only real problem with the game is that on layups, defenders can create contact FROM BEHIND YOU and make you miss the layup. your player will get suctioned to the defender that's behind him and force you into a contact layup when the defender was not in position to alter your layup animation. this BS causes you to miss what should be wide open, easy layups. defenders should not be able to suction you into contact layups when they are behind you…or if they do, it should be a foul.

I'm not calling you a liar but I personally find it impossible to get both "game play wise (in terms of not missing easy lay ups) and realistic stats. I have 2 options as I have found.
                          1. Inside sliders up so I dont miss easy lay ups but then to get realistic shooting percentages I have to lower mid and 3pt shooting sliders which causes what I like to call points in the paint parties. Not at all realistic PIP stats.
                          2. Lower inside and layup sliders which results in unrealistic lay up misses which is what's being discussed. Average mid and 3pt sliders for realistic shooting percentages. Again results are missed easy layups so not realistic.
I'm glad your not having problems getting realism but a lot of us are.

As a side note though. Every sports game I play I'm constantly chasing realistic stats. (I blame this site I never used to care lol) Slider tweak. Slider tweak. Ugh slider tweak. Nba2k15 finally made me realize that obviously it would be nice to always achieve realistic stats but I've wasted to much time chasing that when I should just be having fun.

As far as stats I meant all the stats add up I see no bizar peeks or lows
the only thing I see is that I average 77 point and 73 points allowed while the rest of the leagur Is below mines on both accounts ..I play 8 minutes ss custom and for sim I have it on 9 I mighy wanna bump it to 10 for sim but then im afraid the cpu will be higher in almos everything like rebounds blocks steals and a big differencial in the league leader column ...im dazzled by this its the only thing that bugs me the rest is legit 3 pt percentages turnover ratio are all legit and dont stray abnormally from each other (depending on the team playstyle . I keep that in consideration) ..any body any tips on how to normalize the stats In my league ? So 8 &9 would be a good basis ? Or 8 and 10 for sim .? Please 2k vets holler backkk

If any of you watch Chris Smoove's videos on youtube, you can see for yourself the ridiculously easy layup attempts that these NBA players miss. I don't think it has anything to do with the ratings either. If your player has a driving layup rating in the 70's, he shouldn't be missing layups when there isn't a defender in front of him. I was just playing a game where Cody Zeller missed a layup 6 inches from the basket with his defender behind him... Something isn't right here.
2K puts sliders in the game for things just like this. Just raise the layup success slider to your liking.

Layups are actually fine.. the problem is the magnetic defense that sucks in the offensive player and forces a miss. 2K should not make layups easier tho, it's bad enough I'm facing Damion Lillard in the paint making contested layups on 3 guys.
