Re: NBA 2K15 Patch Submitted To Fix Players Being Booted off The Park & Other Things
I don't expect this patch will fix much. Normal the first patch on a sports game doesn't fix much and then the second patch fixes a lot more and the game has only been out for a week. I think it will be another like 3 weeks or so before we get a big patch to fix things.Comment

I dont know how 2k managed to keep this under the radar, but if you take a look at 2ksports support forum, you will see why this patch is beeing uploaded by 2k with little to none info. There are a ton of users including myself who stuck in the main menu and cant connect to the 2k network, most of them got kicked out when buying upgrades for my player and can only connect back to 2k network by creating a new account (ps4, xbox one). Its really frustrating and 2k gives zero feedback.

Re: NBA 2K15 Patch Submitted To Fix Players Being Booted off The Park & Other Things
(Park mode)
my guy is doing celebration moves after i score. But get this... i have no celebration equipped or even unlocked.
So after i dunk or score........... guess what my guys doing while the other team is getting down the court. Yea thats right he's celebrating looking like a fool so my teammates are playing 2 on 3. I lost a couple games because of this animation that i dont even have unlocked yet.Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 Patch Submitted To Fix Players Being Booted off The Park & Other Things
Sometimes shot meter cue missing online as well.
Also, why is half court press have one of my man trying to defend inbound pass after a shot is made? He should be staying behind the midcourt line and only press when the ball came across the midcourt. Isn't that what half-court press supposed to mean? I am not doing fullcourt, but using halfcourt press looks just like fullcourt to me and that's just ridiculous. This is online ranking! IN previous version, they don't full court press when i am asking for half-court press.
Also something doesn't seem right about boxing out while rebound. I am control a Center and was in front of him and boxing out and I STILL get beat. It's a lot harder online due to lag because you can't position correctly and it kind of feel slippery when boxing out.Last edited by reptilexcq; 10-16-2014, 12:36 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 Patch Submitted To Fix Players Being Booted off The Park & Other Things
I don't like the shot meter either. Here's why:
The meter gives a false impression that shot success is 100% (or at least a majority) user controlled. As many of us have discovered, it clearly isn't. It's a useful tool for analyzing where a shooter's sweet spot is, but I think it belongs exclusively in the training mode.
During normal gameplay it's just plain distracting and frustrating. It's distracting because the user (if he/she plays anything like I do) will just look at the shot meter and not pay any attention to anything else going on. It's frustrating because when you have a release that lands directly on the center of the line but isn't "perfect" it feels like you're cheated. If I land a damn near perfect release I feel like it should go in a majority of the time. The reality is it doesn't. Let me illustrate. I did a little test with Wesley Matthews. I set him up in the left corner (his alleged hot spot) in an empty practice gym and had his teammates throw him passes. With slightly early or slightly late releases he only hit 4/10 and 6/10 in two different tests. That's a) wide open and b) with good shot meter releases. Even when I'm supposedly landing his release well I'm shooting an abysmal percentage (for a wide open corner specialist).
This is how my tests should have turned out:
Bottom line... shot meter is a false impression of user control and skill as a driver of success. I seriously question whether they actually added anything to the shooting code. As far as I'm concerned it's just a damn overlay that they marketed as a new feature. It's still a F'in dice roll. Stop blowing smoke, 2k.PSN=Coolcas7Comment

I can just say how it feels for me. I don't feel, apart from landing the shot meter relatively close to center, I have any actual control over the shot meter and the resulting shot success. If it does actually correlate user timing to shot percentage the game does a poor job relating that to the user.
Another thing is the poor balance between reward and punishment. Let me explain: A bad timing failure rate feels MUCH higher than a good (not perfect) timing success rate. In other words, I'm punished more harshly for a bad release than I am rewarded for a near perfect release.Comment
