Boost your defensive ratings, I'm at level 16 Defender and I give up a dunk here and there but when I'm at the rim and in position to square up and challenge a shot I usually get the Roy Hibbert two hands up (WHILE JUMPING) animation and i get a block or the ball will go flying out of their hands. And thats without any defensive badges so far (trying hard for that Eraser badge)

Re: MyPark What did I just witness...
Your right Jordan Rec Center is the way to go (although more difficult to get a game).
Just don't go playing in the Park and complain about dunks. Nobody complained about dunks in NBA Jam or NBA Street. And for the record, dunks can be blocked and missed in the Park. Either complain or play defense.
Those two games are ARCADE titles not SIMULATIONS! I know they are just dunkfest and "off this hizzey" moves. I expect a lil more from 2k15 that's all."I'm so lonely....I paid a hobo to spoon with me"Comment

Re: MyPark What did I just witness...
Since this is the go to Park topic at the moment, can anyone with experience explain to me how the rep system works?
Yesterday I posted in this thread about leveling up but not getting the perks. It seems like my rep goes down after games rather than up. I figured that it was because I was more pass oriented than a scorer so my points weren't that high. However, I just had a game earlier in the JRC where three teammates quit in a blowout with the other team winning. So I ended up with 14 points and 7 assists. When I checked my rep after the game, I had about the halfway point of rookie 3 to pro 1, after I had just leveled up to 1 yesterday.
What does it take to actually raise your rep on a consistent basis? Is it scoring in bunches? Do losses make your rep fall?Comment

Re: MyPark What did I just witness...
Your statement doesn't address anything. Most people buy 2K and Live for simulation between NBA teams. Not because of a "sim" park modeComment

Re: MyPark What did I just witness...
In Philly. Nobody takes jumpers (except crazy 3's from people that can't shoot). Even the teenagers try to dunk, although most of the time they can't. That's why there are stars of the Park, and stars in High School, College or the League. Big difference. Now at a suburban park, maybe your right. Jumpshot city lol. All jokes aside though, it's only 3's and dunk/layups at the Park. Nothing else. No transition defense, pick and rolls, cuts to the hoop, boxing out etc..
Sorry if you expected a sim experience at the Park
I've made my rounds through a litany of street court atmospheres over the years and I've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. Whether in suburban or urban environments, I can't think of many times in my life where I've been at parks where kids who couldn't dunk spent the entire game attempting what they clearly couldn't do. That would not stand at most places I've played.
Moreover, even when playing amongst street crowds largely composed of athletic leapers, the games aren't just dunks on dunks on dunks in my experiences. Most defenders, even at the street level, have pride that comes along with not allowing themselves to get dunked on. When the dunk prospect is out there, I notice defense tightening up and getting more physical, so a game doesn't end up just being dunks and nothing else. I hope, for your sake, that you're able to find some real life games out there that feature something at least kind of resembling legitimate basketball.
Regarding The Park mode itself, I do not have a vested interest for I am not an online gamer. But I admit it would have been kind of cool if there was a way to situate things so as to have it more closely resemble an actual park experience. I felt old 2K's actually did a pretty good job in that regard (back when they had numerous real life outdoor courts like Rucker, The Cage, and Mosswood Park). Things ran a little looser in the Street mode back then, but not so loose as to lead to an endless stream of behind-the-back dunks.
I just think it'd be cool to replicate 6'3'' VDusen04 and play some even-keeled street ball against other similarly realistic street ballers. Unfortunately, I feel like if I tried that now, I would be absolutely destroyed by 7'0'' dunk tandems.Last edited by VDusen04; 10-21-2014, 07:38 PM.Comment

Re: MyPark What did I just witness...
I am definitely going to try actually using a LAN line instead of Wifi (Although when I test it I am always 60/12 when it comes to download/upload.
The sad thing is we were in the Ante Up area, not one of the three parks and there were 48 people in there. (It was like 4 am EST)2k16 My Team:
PG: CP3, John Wall, Kyrie
SG:Klay Thompson, D.Wade, Kobe
SF: LBJ, Melo, PGeorge
PF: Blake, Aldridge, Duncan
C: '06 Shaq, Cousins, Bosh

Re: MyPark What did I just witness...
I am certain the park is not on simulation settings. I have not hopped on to the park yet, but when I do I plan to mainly play in the jordan rec center since it plays on simulation settings. The park has never really appealed to me. I never played it in NBA 2k14 either.Comment

Re: MyPark What did I just witness...
Usually where you load into the Park, behind you there's some gates. I'm a Baller so it looks different for me but it should either have a Jordan logo or say "Jordan Rec Center". Walk up to that and press X/A and you're good to go.Comment

Re: MyPark What did I just witness...
Example
Yesterday a guy Was running slightly inside the three point arc at me. In anticipation I press the jump button in hopes of getting an early jump to foul. Instead my player starts back peddling. The guy hasn't even taken off yet I already lose control of my player. Behold my player continues backing up despite my input and I get dunked on. That ticks me off.#1 Laker fan
