I'd have to play devil's advocate and say with 2K12, 2K doubled down on the community and attempted to give them what they wanted, only to get collectively spat on imo. I'm not the basketball expert many of you are, but there was a lot of good with 2K12 - they lessened a lot of the roughhousing/physical play on the perimeter you could get away with in 2K11 (and that gave people the false sense they were playing good defense), they tried to implement the live ball as the community wanted, they tried to implement more Legends content that the community wanted, they did Online Association for the first time if I'm not mistaken, gave much more control from a Isomotion standpoint, vast improvements to playcalling over 2K11. Those are some of the things off the top of my head.

I think because live ball wasn't implemented perfectly, the community immediately rejected it; 2K12 was the first year where there was no NBA Live so there were a lot of ex-Live fans that had no gameplay alternative and mouthed off at everything they perceived wrong in NbA2K. It was also the year of the player's strike, and I remember there being a lot of dissatisfaction with what 2K was doing with the rosters even though it was a somewhat impractical situation for them. Some also disliked the Legends teams implementation; even though more teams were added, some wanted an approach similar to the Jordan content in 2K11.

That's not to say 2K12 wasn't without fault on 2K's end of course, just stating some of the things I remember. And just pointing out that the community isn't infallible either. It wasn't then, and it DEFINITELY isn't now - just look at many of the overreactions that have occurred with 2K releasing one of the most extensive patch releases we've ever seen for a sports game. It's a tricky balancing act. Imo I think 2K has been forward-thinking enough to have the vision of what they ultimately want to implement while being open to listening to the more level-headed faction of the community on where the game needs tweaking to improve
HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

Just wondering how we can assist in that balancing app act breed more consistency.

I think they kind of started slowly. Remember when they used to cater to the people who said the game was too hard and would tone it down? They didnt do it this year or last year. Actually that current gen game was nice, it was just current gen

People who said it was too easy, they just gave them HOF for a pure challenge standpoint, cheese and all (even though some of those people still complain as if it wasn't intended to be like that on purpose).

I sent Mike a PM about walking the ball up because it was just like I think 2k12 where you ran up court every possession and he implemented that back.

I think alot of subtle basketball things, they are likely aware of alot of it but the affirmations of it from the fans might push some of those things up the priority list.

The complaining is complaining, but there are alot of constructive guys that im sure they listen to while the poison is ignored just like you ignore it.

I would love the progression/regression system to get much more love next year. It's not great now obviously.... They should maybe look at how Football Manager handle it... Some guys peak early, some late.... There just seems much more possibilities. Progress depends on how often they play also which doesn't seem to be how nba2k operates?

I've seen guys in the league get that walk the ball up animation and it causes a backcourt violation at times.

The thing about HOF sim is that it isn't just used for cpu play. It's a big component of league play.

I think it could be worked on more but it was great when 2k first implemented it in CH2k and NBA 2K7. Matter of factly, Nash had his signature lick his fingers and dribble animation. That stood out at the time and made it pretty special

I dont know about league play and all of that, but I dont look at online when first talking about core part of the game, because if thats not right online will be worse anyway.

I'm guessing you want the slow down animation to prevent a sprint down the sideline for a layup?

I have logged about 50 games of 12 minutes hall of fame sim this year in 2k15, here is my single biggest concern:

                  1) My weak side or strong side spot up shooters choose to spot up for long 2's instead of 3's. If the player in question is Lance Stephenson then is fine, but my Wesley Matthews and Ariza are doing this like 3-4 times each a game.

Re: How do we get 2k to keep momentum after this patch?

I just think teams and situations aren't all alike. Chris Paul always slow paces the game. He doesn't run down as fast and he can to call a play. The guy light jogs or walks it up.

It's a pace thing and that doesn't mean run past half court every single time in 2 seconds even though NBA players cover a lot of ground really quickly.

Sometimes you do it to compose your team or control the pace. It just adds to variables in the NBA but in no wise am I saying they never run down because they certainly do.

With us players we all play differently so we Need to find a common ground on feedback.

I have a friend from OS who loves 2k but always seem to be bothered by PIP. I never have that issue really because I play pretty good man D so I never have his experience but he doesn't have mine either yet we can both see the things that are great about the game. Take it from there and then move outward.

It's just here man like the guys whining about fastbreaks. I have no issue for fastbreaks so when I saw that post I scratched my head. I'm paying now and still don't know what the heck he's talking about but those are the kinds of posts 2k should tread lightly on and not be quick to nerf because one guy cries foul

PS4 ^^ Hmmm is still happening for me a lot .. But it could be because of the offensive system I run. I demand my guys to move around like crazy haha
BTW Coach2K I was hoping you can give me some tips on scoring more with George Hill. I asked the question in detail on my Tips to Win thread, but I think you might have missed it ^^ Let me know if you got any tips on that haha I need some George Hill offense tips badly lol

Lag is unbearable after the patch. IT's the most frustrating game i ever play online. It's just not smooth at all. Everything is just dragging and slow. It's a total joke. 2K team keep bringing out the same stuffs every year and never want to address this issues.

After the great strides 2k11 made, the game that followed up (2k12) seemed to take a lot of steps back. For example, 2k11 did a great job of balancing rebounding...it probably hasn't been that balanced since....and 2k12 was the beginning of that down fall.

How do we stop this from happening again with 2k16?

Does 2k need to know what the community thinks DOESNT need "fixing"?
I'm probably posting this prematurely as I've only played two games since the patch was released, but for me they don't need to reinvent the wheel next year.

2k15 has played great for since the patch, so as far as I'm concerned maybe the could make a tweak here or there, but I would be fine if they focused the majority of 2016 cycle on shoring up the problems with some of their modes and finally giving online association the love that it deserves. Also I'd love to see presentation vastly improved. Add the halftime show back, make sure the Player of the Game Highlights work on PS4, things on that nature.

Honestly, I don't think Da Czar and company will let the gameplay take a step back like it did from 2k11 to 2k12. I guess what I'm saying is that I don't have that many worries when it comes to 2k16, but on my worry-list gameplay is towards the bottom.

I think the triangle is so far off people's heads they don't even realize it's there. Especially to this degree. ... that's inside drive level greatness

Those freelance offenses are genius. That's definitely one thing that should be expanded on.
I bought 2k15 because it seemed like it took a significant step forward (I only buy every few years). The freelance offences weren't one of my reasons as I didn't know about them at the time.

Looking at it now, they just might be my favorite part about the game. Makes playing the teams that run them a complete joy and completely changes how I personally play. I can now run an offense with structure without resorting to auto playcalling. I love it so much.

To me, letting Czar continue to do work and expand on this is possibly the greatest thing that could happen to 2k16. There are other AI changes like taking advantage of matchups that I'm sure he wants to add as well. Expand the AI that's already there and I believe we'll have a game that plays phenomenally.

On a similar note the franchise modes took a serious step forward and I'd like to see that built upon for next year. Bringing back things from past years like CAPs with editable weight and accessories (and height over 7'2) could go a long way. I'd love to see body editing (think sizes of individual body parts) in a similar light to the face structuring we currently have.

Sitting down and reading through Larry Coon's CBA FAQ while steadily implementing the rules would be amazing, but more of a challenge to code an AI for I'd imagine. I'd also love to see a new progression/regression system put out that goes beyond a static "potential" ceiling that is almost always reached. There are so many things that can be added in to make franchises immersive; add in a couple things each year and I might just have to start buying the game annually.
