I feel you but this isn't the right thread for that.Comment

Re: How do we get 2k to keep momentum after this patch?
EA is showing signs of catering nearly solely to UT and monetised modes. Most of the games industry is heading that way.
The fact that 2K has implemented a purely offline mode and reduced the impact of microtransactions is against the trend of sports games and the gaming industry, in general. They have got the 'big' thing right; the need to appeal to consumers.
The irony is I have fallen for myGM and dont even play myleague. This follows me whining about getting it for all of 2K14's lifecycleComment

Re: How do we get 2k to keep momentum after this patch?
I'm still waiting for the patch, so some of this might be addressed? But a few things i'd love to see.
There's still a handful of plays that break down, if they could get all of them working. Played a bit with the kings and brooklyn and there's plays in there that drop out, or have a player regularly not move the ball on.
Really amp up the crowd atmosphere and the different stadium identities and chants. Really amping it up more again for the playoffs too. better crowd animations and interactions too.
Tidy up a few faces, hair etc
Team identity would be huge. Really having teams playing noticeably different.
More storyline for my player. More commentary, imo i think we're just about ready for a complete commentary overhaul esp with Kerr now a coach.
Tighten up the user Vs cpu controls, esp dribbling. So many times you link together and in and out with an around the back and it feels jagged and stop-start as the game engine computes your controls. meanwhile the cpu can string the moves together seamlessly.
2k could probably take the whole ingame 'points of emphasis' a few steps further to add a little more immersion with the strategy and tactics.
I love the shooting meter, but this could go next level for 2k16... like have the meter move slower (easier) for uncontested shots, move faster for contested shots etc ...
basically the nuts and bolts are in place, so next year just add plenty of filler & immersion to the already existing game, which is without a doubt one of the best sports games ever.
they def don't have to reinvent the wheel with this one.Comment

Re: How do we get 2k to keep momentum after this patch?
good points, Tonka.
After playing the series for a few years and seeing the evolution of it..
I prefer the offline mode. Playing alone or just with a friend etc.
This year I think really seperate the game for specific players. You got a great offline mode (myleage, mygm, mycareer, etc.) and new online experience with MyPark. The idea with different parks is great. Lot of potential.
So I haven't played it with newest patch (still no patch in Europe) but here are some points I would definetely work on on the offline modes.
- animations are fantastic but just add a lot more. I think emotions .. movement... reactions .. are really underrated in sportsgames. It's just awesome to see how players react after a foul or a buzzer beater. So 2k import MORE animations etc
- Atmosphere. I love when the cam shows the audience (after a team run etc). It brings more feel to it. Bring more of it.
- Commentary. Definetely update it. I like the idea how EA created a new commentary style in NHL 15. Would be awesome to hear how the commentary would talk about the last games .. the player of the weeks .. rumours etc..
- Presentation.. I think this is where NBA 2k15 really lacks. Bring a halftime show (NFL 2k5). Player highlights. Show boxscores from other games. Live updates from other games.
I think it's safe to say that 2k is still the king of basketball simulation. I love all the modes and the freedom whatever mode you want to play. But they shouldn't add more modes or so. They should focus on the current game and just tweak / add some more love to the detail. I think this is what makes the game so awesome. To see all the little details they put their effort in it.Comment

Re: How do we get 2k to keep momentum after this patch?
I think I'd love to see more atmosphere related things in each arena. I'd like to see a display in the timeout area that lets me know fouls to give, timeouts left, time left. I'd like to be able to set freelance options in a timeout.
Making your own plays would be cool.
As a side note, no takers for my challenge on who might show me how the Pacers aren't broken in 2K. That's a shame. For MyNBA, MyLeague & MyGM content, follow Coach2K on X by clicking here.

Remember, we have sliders that gives us the ability to tune the game. Too many offensive rebounds? Lower the slider.Comment

2 year developing cycles and don't give us new modes until the existing ones are fixed. Drop roster updates and art updates as patch dlc to make up income. We'll pay for a better product. With updates & that should give more time to perfect what works and test & fix what doesn't.Last edited by ronyell; 12-14-2014, 03:55 PM.Comment

I know it's a little off topic but I've been wondering if the freelance offenses are tied ro the team in duraron or tied to the coach.Comment

Re: How do we get 2k to keep momentum after this patch?
I think 2K should make regular mode and sim mode play totally different. Regular mode is more like it is now. Pick up and play, mostly run and gun, relaxed rules. Sim adds more animations like different "walk the ball up" animations. Playing injured (with a limp)."Big game" emotions (from players, crowds, and announcers). In game ticker for season play. The ability to develop rivalries (players and teams)
I'm sure I'm missing a lot, but just make the casuals have they game and the sims have their game. It's like the halftime show this year, they trashed it cause they said most ppl skipped it. I didn't and a lot of ppl here didn't. I don't know how hard it is but try to give us a choice.Boy this habit is as bad as dope!!!
