Re: How do we get 2k to keep momentum after this patch?

This thread has fallen by the wayside, but it's time to bring it back.

The contextual animations in the paint are really strong now. There are very few awkward looking shots in the paint anymore. Both user and CPU players for both teams are aggressive and fluid when attacking the rim, choosing the right kind of animation/release on layups, dunks, post moves, floaters, all kinds of shots. The ball tracking on block attempts is solid too. I would slightly decrease the ball invulnerability on layups to allow for a few more blocks per game, Especially for CPU controlled elite shot blockers.

Also I don't know about the higher levels of the game, but on the lower levels, User CPU teammates finally play as well(if not better now) than the opponent CPU players. That CPU opponent inherent hustle play advantage is gone now. Good Job.

Contact in the paint, is really balance, IMO, in terms of fouls, hard fouls, no calls, bad calls, causing missed shots, and allowing And 1's. The contact on the perimeter is nice now too, just needs a few more blocking calls. I would imagine that this is very hard to balance especially with the way many Users play.

I hope that no new game play mechanic gets introduced that causes the tuning to be reset to square one next year.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

If they gonna have Shaq in the game, let him be his outrageous self. Seems way to tamed. But a full TNT license would work. Also they wont have to waste cash giving some to somebody for a soundtrack!

2K11 was a very different game, as I remember. Also, my first ever 2K game (despite renting 2K10 from Blockbuster prior to the 2K11 release). I started on Rookie in October and by May I was on Superstar/Simulation.

2K12, the year of the 3 pointer. Anybody and everybody can shoot like a Ray Allen or Steve Kerr.

2K13, the year of the dunk. We didn't have the ability to block dunks. Also, there weren't many foul calls. The Association Mode was great, however, those game play issues hurt the game.

2K14, I played a little bit on the PS3 and it seemed great! The transition to PS4, not too good. I think we all know why PS4 2K14 was terrible; always had to be online to play game modes, duplicate players, no CAP - enough said.

2K15, so far so good I don't notice any glaring issues, except maybe CPU shot percentages but they can be adjusted with sliders.

I want 2k to come up with individual team defensive schemes ex. Bulls defense and Dallas zone switch schemes the way they did freelance for the offensive end I'd be pumped.

As well as give the A.i the ability to roll the ball up in late game situations when their out of timeouts.

Yep. Also lots of teams drop their bigs in pick and roll coverage, I havent seen a CPU team do this. They all hedge.

This would open up the mid range game aswell.

Re: How do we get 2k to keep momentum after this patch?

To anticipate what may be nerfed next year, we have to first establish what the top 5 or so complaints from the community are, right? Then have a discussion about the legitamacy of those complaints, and how fixing them may cause other problems.

I think thats where 24th was going with this thread.

I agree that they need to know what not to change but I don't think many come here to give that type of input unfortunately.

Re: How do we get 2k to keep momentum after this patch?

Double teams have to be toned down for the AI and up for the user. As it is, double teams aren't really that effective when you do it, but when they do it it's pretty much a guaranteed TO.

Also, reaching has to be fixed. Right now, there's no way to pressure the ball handler, since all the animations take too long. They can just escape hesitate to the side with no penalty. You can't play smother on ball D like you see in the NBA.

So, the steal button has to be changed. Right now, it's "attempt a steal at all costs, but sometimes just pressure the handler". I want it changed to "pressure the handler", and with a modifier, like LT, go for a steal.

It's very awkward to press LT and right stick to smother, and very slow as well, which will cause you to be out of the sticky defense animation area and a clear path for the drive.

                        Speed up animations

                        Fix input lag

Work on the clipping (block shots/steals)

                        Bring fast breaks back

No need for individual badges, time to bring team badges. Teams need play styles to differentiate themselves from each other.
