Games like FIFA, NHL and Madden (Hmmm, what do these have in common) all much worse CPU cheating than 2K.

    Much worse.

        Games great.

        Is it perfect? No

Is it the best sports sim in 2014?

Yes, besides possibly The Show, Offline it's a million miles ahead of Any other sports game out there.

What is amazing because they made the pro stick moves realistic or players mimic themselves. That doesn't mean anything If the gameplay is broken, in which it is. If I see that annoying thing on offense and defense than I'm playing an annoying game that is in need of having those issues addressed
yeah, there are CERTAIN players in this game who can just cheesily make any shot they toss up (Durant, Westbrook, Curry, etc.). that crap does get old, but i suppose it's the only way to make the CPU competitive with a human player. at the end of the day, the CPU has to score somehow, and if its plays aren't working on you, it's just going to start hitting its contested shots to stay in the game (but luckily it's only CERTAIN players who can do this…it only happens with certain elite teams where they will go on scoring runs just hitting contested shot after contested shot). what I do like about it is that you can still counter it and win. if you play smart defense you can eventually cool them off and you can get things going on your own by running plays and executing them properly. you just have to ride out the storm of those cheese shots and play well enough through that run to not give them a huge lead. if you do that, eventually the'll start missing those contested shots and you'll pull away. while it can be annoying to endure their cheesy scoring runs of contested shots, i do like the challenge and trying to weather the storm by playing good basketball. if you do that, you will usually still come out on top despite their cheese.

There isn't a single team sport game on the planet which doesn't suffer from cheese. The sooner people come to terms with that the sooner they'll be able to move on.

The issue is people get so hung up on it, they get frustrated and either rage quit or lose any semblance of patience and a game plan which just makes matters worse.

It aint easy but you just have to shrug it off and keep your head in the game.

sigh....I still can't decide. DAAAAAMN!!! sigh...of course, by not deciding it really means I have already decided. Now it is only a matter of when I buy it. I mean....yes, I can't decide so maybe I should wait until summer to buy it...but, if I'm going to buy it in the summer, it would make just as much sense to buy it in the spring, but if I'm going to buy it in the spring, I might as well buy it in the next week or so. I mean...I'm gonna buy it anyway...right? Hmmm....if I'm going to buy it next week, I may as well hop in the car this very second....TIME TO NEGOTIATE WITH THE WIFEY....

Re: Is 2K basketball an amazing improvement on PS4?

I think the biggest improvement outside of the graphics and features is the A.I.
Very few sports games actually replicate the mechanics of the actual sport as well as NBA 2K15. Even the heralded FIFA does not come close in terms of authenticity of how the actual sport is played. This year the A.I. actually plays basketball to beat you. If you leave any one open they will punish you, they will drive and kick it out they will attack you where ever you leave a gap or where there's a path to the basket. They will use the pick and roll, pull up for three or hit the mid range jumper if given the space. They even make the extra pass where you would never expect them to.

This for me is the biggest leap in next gen basketball and its what makes it well worth getting a next gen console and playing the heck out of it.

Re: Is 2K basketball an amazing improvement on PS4?

offline the game isnt broken at all.
the person complaining about the cheese probably plays on the highest levels, without fully understanding the new game play features.

you can play on the lower levels and still get a challeneg from the cpu/ai without the cheese.

the game is deep and fun. when it comes to gameplay there are minor issues at best.

I cant speak about online. Im strictly off line.

That points to the other issue: deflection. Too many people like to claim there are flaws in a game when they are getting their asses kicked either by the game on a difficulty that's too much for them, or by another player using a strategy they can't figure out. Then you have the kids that claim they never lose, but that the game cheats to stay close... Yeah buddy. You are the best player and basketball mind in the world, and no one deserves to score against or stop you from scoring. I actually get entertainment out of posts like that. There are an infinite number of ways that people can say the exact same thing. Yet, they seem to think their situation is different. It's laughable. .

Don't get me wrong, there are many cases where real basketball fails to be expressed in the game. You make a decision that resolves differently in the game than the way it normally should in real life. Happens. But I doubt most of the people that complain can actually recognize those cases. At least, I never see them call them out. The putback issue that was recently patched is a good example. But that one was obvious.
