Re: NBA 2K15 Patch #4 Available Now, Primarily Addresses Shoe Issues
Some of these patch opinions have me a little worried. I had no problem with the shooting being difficult(I use Sixers so I expect to miss most of my shots). Some of you make it sound like you can make 75% of your jumpshots with your eyes closed now. Don't like the sound of that as I love a challenge(mostly offline player).
Have you guys noticed if they changed any player art such as hawes hair change or Caldwell pope haircut, etc?EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 Patch #4 Available Now, Primarily Addresses Shoe Issues
I'm very nervous. I am actually enjoying this game a lot gameplay wise besides some issues. But for me, this patch sounds bad. All the negatives I am hearing is things I would hate. Heard a few things that I would like, but I mostly not liking what I am hearing.
I appreciate 2K for coming out with a patch this late though. But it might've been best to wait for 2K16. I doubt we'll get another to fix the issues this one caused.HATE LOSING MORE THAN I LOVE WINNING!

Re: NBA 2K15 Patch #4 Available Now, Primarily Addresses Shoe Issues
I've only played 4 career games and about 3/4 hours at the park post patch but my thoughts are:
Shooting - I've been using my small forward who has maxed out shooting with corner specialist and limitless range, and I only ever took wide open shots with him because despite peppering the white line on the shooting meter, I was shooting around 25-28% from 3pt range. I'm still searching for a jumper that suits my timing, and I'm currently using Melo with a quick release and I'm getting green releases now - not constantly, but enough to not make me feel like this game is like driving uphill on an icy road.
General gameplay - I play on HoF sim (10mins), and the gameplay is a lot more enjoyable, but also it seems way easier. I've started dunking on people again - not a ridiculous amount, but I'm not being kicked out of as many animations by tiny guys anymore, my team mates definitely seem a lot better, although I've just moved to Thunder at the start of the 3rd season, and it's actually fun to have team mates, rather than infuriating. They don't make everything, but they make shots now which is a massive improvement. Makes me feel like I'm actually getting some use out of dimer.
I've won every game I've played in MC - 3 of them were blowouts against the lakers/warriors/nuggets, and the other one went down to free throws and we ended up winning y about 8 points in the end against the bulls. We were down by 8 at the start of the 4th and I never really thought that I'd lose the game.
It's a bit frustrating really seeing people moaning about having to tweak a few sliders to get the game back to where they'd like it. As someone who only plays MC, I don't have that luxury, and the game before this patch was a mess IMO, and it needed work, so anyone moaning about that needs to stop looking at things so myopically. This is a game we all play different bits of and share. This patch seems like it might make the game fun again (for me at least). If I could have done that a few moth ago with sliders, then I would have done so.
The game plays smoother and seems a bit quicker, and if they'd only patched that crabwalk out of existence I'd still have been delighted with this patch, but as they've tweaked other stuff too, then it's a bonus.
I need to play another 6 games before I complete this, but for now, I just wanted to say it's a promising start to the patch, and to tell those with sliders to stop being so selfish. You want to have your cake and eat it, without considering any other users of the software. 2k are back in my circle of trust.Comment

But back to the topic at hand. Offline users cant complain com'on u guys have sliders to fix problems. Us online users are just happy and thankful to MIKE WANG for finally giving us a playable game were u can actually hit wide open shots. the game is finally fun again. (I rather my opponent and i make too make shots than have both us shooting 15% from three wide open every game btw)Comment

Don't know if somebody talked about it, and don't really have the time to look through all the pages, but did the patch bring any ''cosmetic'' updates like new player faces, hairstyles etc.?Comment

Re: NBA 2K15 Patch #4 Available Now, Primarily Addresses Shoe Issues
My opinion on Patch 4, it basically made you more accountable.
Offensively - Shot timing has been fixed, all shooting forms are now able to get green releases. You are now rewarded for running plays & getting good looks at the rim. So if you're playing an opponent User or CPU and defensive breakdowns occur, you can make them pay. I don't think shooting is easier, just that the defense have to make adjustment that they wasn't making prior to the patch.
Defensively - You now have to play legit defense. No packing the paint, because jumpers were rarely going in. Now you have to pick your poison on what your willing to give up. You now have to defend all aspects of the game or the offense will make you pay.
Game Play - The game runs smoother, most of the unnecessary animations have been removed ( the auto hesi dribble, that happens during P&R or Iso). The game seems faster because you are no longer sucked into an animation which you can't break, there are a few still in the game.
Preference - I mainly play online H2H, HOF/Sim 12m quarters (sometimes Park/Rec) & offline (Quick Game, MyCareer) HOF/Sim. I don't play the other modes because of the difficulty level and I assume it can definitely be a cheese fest playing on a lower setting which it makes it even easier to time shots. Which is why the Park/Rec can seem unreal now with 99 Ovr. running around with all 70+ badges.
My last 2 online league games I'm the Wizards (C2K League - HOF/Sim 12m quarters)
Hornets preferred to protect the paint & let me live on the arc. While Rockets played all around solid defense. All Patch 4 did was make you more accountable for you actions.Last edited by capitolrf; 03-15-2015, 08:21 PM.Comment

shooting and driving has definitely gotten easier- 2k listened to the majority of folks complaining and they made it easier. 2k always does this. Im just happy they didnt do it with the first 2 patches. This years cycle of NBA is winding down. so if shooting continues to be easy Ill adjust the sliders accordingly.
defense is more responsive, but I do notice some anomalies with the ai teammates. when rotating theyll rotate as a normal player would, but when they go back to their man, the player kind of morphs/skates to their player very quickly and abnormally. at times it ooks like a road runner animation with the players legs.
alot more hard fouls also, players crashing to the floor.
these are the 2/3 things I noticed after 2 games
I still like the game so I cant really complain. and Im offlineComment

Do yourself a huge favor and don't let the OP determine if this patch is worth it or not...

It's not just the OP. I have had friends that I know what they are talking about message me on Xbox that has PS4 also and basically are saying the same things. And also some posters on here I used to play with.
I still need to play it myself though, but am pretty sure it'll be like most people are saying.HATE LOSING MORE THAN I LOVE WINNING!
