I'm gonna double post... But darn the torpedoes! On drives you need to be in position, so get in front of the guy and just do hands up. You will either change the shot or body him up, which will change the shot as well. For chase downs I have always found that jumping as soon as the guy jumps helps get me blocks.

Thanks for doing this! This is my first 2k in many years and I'm sometimes having troubles finding answers to the questions I have. What I'm currently interested in most: how to defend zig-zag online, especially when done by superstar player.

Here's a detailed play set using OKCs default playbook; designed for KD and/or Russell.

It seems like at least half of the 3-pointers, or even long 2s that I take from the corners sail way wide of the basket or hit the side of the backboard or the top of the backboard. It is really getting frustrating. I'm earning open shots from the corner, I usually play with the Spurs who have numerous deadly shooters, and these possessions are just going to waste.

Can someone please help me figure out what I am doing wrong? Thank you!

What system are you playing on? I have that happen a lot more on Xbox One than ps4. I think it's a bug and there really isn't much you can do about it. I could be wrong but that's my explanation.

There really is no best playbook. It's a matter of play style, personnel, and opinion. I personally like Portlands playbook but it may not work for you.

Don't stand too deep in the corner but if you are, it has to be pretty close to a perfect release for it not to happen. Like salute said, it is happening less on the PS4 but I think 2K tweaked something but cause it used to happen a lot. May have been the releases messing it up as i haven't seen it too often since the latest patch.

In addition to what Jersey said above, look at which camera angle you are using - use the replay feature to make sure the game "sees" your position the same you do.

Also, as a Spurs user, I found that Greene's release is less prone to be "contested" in the corners than others.

The last thing, if the pass is less than perfect, it sometimes helps to put the ball on the floor for a dribble to "reset" the animations and I get better results. Sounds dumb but catch-and-shoot is not always the best call.

Re: #SimNation: Teach Me How Thread

After utilizing Sam Pham's defensive strategy, protect the paint with play physical aggression along with the suggested defensive settings on each individual, I found success in being able to win on SS/Sim against the CPU.

However, there is an obstacle I have yet to overcome on SS/Sim, with this defensive strategy, my own defensive strategy and both major and minor tweaks in the defensive settings on each individual.

My Achilles' heel, the Cleveland Cavaliers(CPU). I cannot for the life of me, beat these fools. I'm using my beloved Denver Nuggets(that's all I ever use), again this is on SS/Sim, broadcast stadium camera angle, all of the original settings and sliders out of the box on 6 minute quarters in Quick Play.

My 3 key issues against the Cleveland Cavaliers are...
                        1) Points in the Paint

I'm getting beat by 10-20 points in this metric. I usually start out the game with my POE as Protect the Paint, Neutral Aggression and Run in Transition. I use Protect the Paint, Play Physical aggression periodically throughout the game along with the defensive settings. Doesnt work if my defense is atricous...and there are times I can admit my defense is atricous.

                        2)Kyrie Irving

THIS. DUDE. GIVES. ME. FITS. I cannot stop him. I have the hope he is having a bad shooting night, just to stay competitive and have a slight possibility of a win(which again hasnt happen yet) I have done everything from changing the matchups, double on catch, deny ball, smothering defensive pressure, blitzkreg icon double team, injure him(just kidding, dont know how on the game, but would if I could lol)

                        3) Offensive Rebounding/Limit Transition Dilemna

This is quite difficult decision for me, because if I put it on some crash boards, some get back on d in POE, I don't notice any effort. When I choose crash offensive boards or limit transition I do notice difference. How can I see a visual effort being made if I select the neutral setting on boards on the offensive side? because the Cleveland Cavaliers kill me in either metric based on which setting is set. Mozgov, Love and Thompson I can't allow them to gobble up defensive glass, yet I can't allow others to run me out the building.

I need help, suggestions, anything. Thanks in advance OS community. Sorry for the long post, I do not know how to capture a full game on XBoxOne in order to provide a visual for help and suggestions, so hopefully my words will do.

Does anyone have any advice on passing? I feel like my passes are getting intercepted a lot more this year than in previous ones. I'm playing MyLeague with the Wizards and I'm averaging like 16 turnovers a game.

What lineups are you using on Offense ? I think you should trying using the following play set for Lawson:

*In this video I used Kyrie as an example but you can easily adopt all the plays and moves to Lawson.

You can also run my pick and fade OFFENSE through Faried:

Lastly, since you are using the nuggests, I suggest also run my 7 seconds or less offence:

Playing against a great team like Cleveland, sometimes Defense isn't enough. You need outscore them too, that's why I am giving you all those offensive strategy tips. Those three videos/tips up there suit the Nuggests roster real well. Hand-offs between Lawson and Chandler/Gallo should be deadly.

Last note though, 6 minute quarters are risky since you barely get to see their bench. Hopefully these offensive tips can help you out ^_^ Let me know if you find any success ^_^

                              Hey SIMNATION.

I have a two part question.

                              1. Can you help me understand some of the Defensive setting? Force Direction, Screen, and Hedge baffle me. I understand what the other settings do but I have never understood the three I mentioned. I feel like I am missing out those three settings, simply because I dont know what they do.

                              2. What would be the best simulation settings for MYLEAGUE? I am talking about the Contract Negotiation difficulty, Motorola and Chemistry effects etc.

That is all I have. Thank you

                                1. Force Direction means which direction you want the defender to shade the ball handler towards. Baseline means cutting off the middle and forcing him towards the boundary while middle means vice versa. Screen is broken down to Over, Under, switch and double if I remember correctly. Over means the defender that is being screened will go over the pick, good strategy for a shooter. Under means he will go under the screen, good strategy for an inconsistent shooter but is a decent slasher. Switch means during the pick and roll action your defenders will switch assignments, good for a player you look to use team defense to defend. Double means instead of hedging, both defenders will jump out on the ball handler. Hedging (soft, hard, ice) is what the screener's defender will do during the pick and roll. If its a soft hedge, the defender will show help on the other side of the screen for a second before going back to his man. Soft is just to slow the ball handler up for a split second so his original man can recover. Hard hedging is the screener's defender is taking an aggressive step with his goal in mind is to force the pick and roll ball handler to move away from the basket. Hard hedging will get you killed if the big can roll as he will be wide open in most cases. ICE combines the ball handler's defender fighting OVER the screen while the hedger (the screener's defender) playing a neutral position behind the PnR. He will not hedge at all in this situation and his main goal is to prevent the roll of the screener and help convince the ball handler to take the midrange jumper - the so called worse statistical shot one can take.

                                2. What's fun for some, isn't fun for others. I suggest when it comes to sliders, tweak them how you feel until you get an experience you want.
