Can someone explain in detail what pace offense does. I understand it is quite similar to 4-1 offense. But does the name stand for anything related? What exactly are the key features of this offense? I mostly have 4 decent shooters on the court an like to play a drive&kick or iso C offense.
Also, same for swing offense would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

I see a bunch of videos popping up recently explaining this offense. I will give my tip for this because a lot of guys are explaining the 2K offense and not the actual offense. Both ways work in general but learning the real life offense is more vital. Once you see the real life offense, figuring out what passes trigger what becomes a lot easier.

Pace (Pace and Space) is a PnR quick reaction offense ran by teams like the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks. The idea behind it is to have a high PnR with shooters (normally in corners) holding the weakside help.

Couldn't find any good Heat examples as most seem to be deep passes to Lebron and Wade, not really the example you need but I did find a Mavericks' video.

Again, there are several videos out there now explaining the 2K offense but I seriously recommend everyone to learn the actual offense a little bit so they have more of an understanding of what needs to happen.

EDIT: THIS ISN'T A SHOT AT ANYBODY CREATING THE VIDEOS. I THINK THEY'RE GOOD BUT TO HELP GUYS UNDERSTAND THE OFFENSES TRULY, YOU HAVE TO SHOW THEM THE REAL LIFE SCHEME. YOU GUYS BUILD THE FOUNDATION AND REAL LIFE VISUALS HELPS BUILD THE HOUSE.

Thanks to Sam, I was able to win against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Played 2 consecutive games against them using my beloved Denver Nuggets, 1 home 1 away.

I won the home game 63-62. Almost threw the game away though, with poor decision making down the stretch. Nonetheless, I was able to make my free throws to secure the win.

I lost the away game 66-63, this game was close throughout. this game ticked me off, but it was a true representation of NBA basketball. With the score tied 57-57, I had two offensive rebounds, the first by Wilson Chandler, went back up blocked by LeBron, the next offensive board was grabbed by Faried, went back up blocked by Mozgov. Momentum was going in the favor of Cleveland. Poor defensive execution and decision making(I doubled Kyrie, leaving a wide open JR for 3, who was hot the entire game, serves me right lol) I had back to back 3s, unfortunately, they had 3 back to back to back 3s. Gameover 66-63

A few things, I takeaway from this, before against the Cavaliers and every other team for that matter, I have not been utilizing the space the floor aspect of POE, nor would I use the 3 out 2 in. Now I use it as part of my offensive execution (primarily use Triange w either motion cuts or freelance options) If I can't stop them with defense, use the Mike D'Antoni philosphy lol

Thanks again Sam, although I still need to work on my defense.

People are really in love with the 4 out 1 in this year and rightfully so; BUT overlooking 3 out 2 in is a huge mistake. Not every PF is a knockdown shooter + not all of them can shoot well all the time. 3 out 2 in is actually the more reliable Offense since it gets you inside shots and better offensive REB rate. I will make a new video detailing the beauty of 3-2 soon, I figured out that it plays a lot better with freelance action. I am glad you can beat the CAVS and I had a part in helping you lol Is always the most rewarding for me when I can help other people enjoy 2K as much as I do ^_^

Sam it's a two way street, though. You and many others make awesome video breakdowns, whether it's go to playbook plays, sets, defensive adjustments etc. It's only rewarding if we all are willing to stop being stubborn for a moment(myself included) and listen to suggestions, use the visual aids as instruction manuals(lol) and practice and implement these superior techniques in our games.

2K, gave us all the tools needed to be great 2K players, we just need to utilize em...ALL of em.

This thread has help me in an astronomical way.

Hey #SimNation and everybody, I need a little bit of help ^_^ Between 2K9-2K11 I was predominantly a triple threat ISO player. I have pretty much completely left that part of my game behind, to those who have seen my vids you know I favor a full team oriented attack. My ISO game is so weaksauce right now (got killed by my sis 1 v 1 on blacktop for an hour: Sam Pham 0 - Sister Pham 5....)

I will appreciate any isolation tips for guards and wings, especially triple threat. Also, any philosophsical pointers on ISO attack would be sweet; I don't even know when is a good time to ISO anymore ...

If you need move combos Jerseyreign and Jerseymade have some cool dribble tutorials on their YouTube page. As for the best time to ISO... I'm not sure, I only know that you can ISO if you see the shot clock coming down and need to get it to someone who can create quick.

                  Sam

Just wanted to thank you for your videos. I was getting too good for superstar/sim, but I would get killed on HOF/sim. Now I am at that very frustrating stage where I can nearly play HOF/sim, but just about lose most games. I need to take your advice and stop losing my swag!!!

Just had a question about the NAPP defence. When you send the offensive player towards help, what do you then do to force the player to miss the shot so consistently? My natural instinct is to switch to the big, and jump for the block. I found this worked almost without fail on 2k14 (I was comfortable on HOF/sim on that one!). However on 2k15 I keep fouling. Should I be manual contesting, or even controlling a different player?

Finally, is there a way of activating a 3-2 or 4-1 offence, or does it just relate to the play sets you use, or having a 4 that stays outside? I was a bit confused about this, because I don think I have seen the option in the settings.

My advice for isoing. Practice combineing moves/finisish together in freelance. Have at least 1 go to sequence for every iso spot on the court. Elbo wing corner top low block. If you get doubled your work is done but if not get up a shot. You miss every shot you dont take =). Also dont let the defender make you uncomfortable. Get to your spots make your moves takes your shots. To quote the great kobe bryant when told hed miss a jumpshot 'so ****ing what' he replied.

I was wondering if there was a specific time that you guys went with regular block/contest(Triangle or Y) and aggressive block (RT/Bumper and Triangle/Y), or what the difference between the two is. It seems this year the blocking mechanic seems to be a bit different than in the past, any assistance would be greatly appreciated fellas.

I use just the triangle for contesting regular shots and the aggressive block with a shot blocker.

Not sure if anyone else has a different strategy or better success but that works well for me.

@Sam - my philosophy on when to use ISO in a 5v5 is when the matchup is overwhelming in my favor and only as a means to keep the defense off-balance. I'm not an ISO-star, so I can't really give good technique pointers.

@Kodii - I play a very nimble-orientated defense mainly using my movement to stay between the basket and my opponent- I actually rarely use regular or aggressive block, unless under the basket or in a low post situation. On the perimeter, to actually contest shots I use jumping more than anything at the time of their release.

I found that contesting perimeter shots with the right stick while holding down intense D to be very effective and less risky than jumping.

I second this, have been using this all year to challenge threes online and offline. Is a solid strategy, because it saves you from getting wrecked by good pump fakes. One extra tip though, don't do it too close to the shooter because after patch 4 it seems like is much easier to blow by defenders that close out too hard.
