Re: OS: Teach Me How Thread
I get a lot of corner transition 3's running on swing motion, but you can also get them from pace and 4-1. You can get some from 3-2 if I recall correctly but you have to have Get Shooters Open POE. Triangle is not very good for transition 3's, and neither is Eighties, as it shouldn't be.
Any time you have POE Get to the Basket those wing lanes will fill to the paint after you pass the ball to what you think will be the corner, leading to a lot of turnovers.
I forget if Feed The Post has the same effect on transition, but I think it does. Play through Player works though for transition 3's if your offensive system is right.
Bottom line, the problem of guys cutting to the basket on transition instead of drifting to the arc is solvable with the right combination of freestyle settings and POE.Comment

Re: OS: Teach Me How Thread
Hmm, in my experience playing the 4-1 even Get Shooters open leads to my wings cutting inside on every fastbreak, maybe it depends on the individual player's tendencies? I always use directional passing (whatever it's called - icon pass while holding down the left stick) to lead them into the corner on fastbreaks. Sometimes they keep standing in the middle of nowhere instead of running back and the pass still gets intercepted, though.I get a lot of corner transition 3's running on swing motion, but you can also get them from pace and 4-1. Re: OS: Teach Me How Thread
Hmm, I dunno. I use the icon pass for breaks - using the RB on XB1 to call up the player action icon - because I find the left stick + A (XB1) to be too unreliable in that instance.Hmm, in my experience playing the 4-1 even Get Shooters open leads to my wings cutting inside on every fastbreak, maybe it depends on the individual player's tendencies? Maybe player tendencies are involved, that makes sense. And I do edit tendencies all over my MyLeague, since I create my own draft classes, so maybe that's a factor. Are your wing players legit perimeter threats or slashers? Do their tendencies match their abilities?
But even before I was doing all that, I feel like I had this solved. It was some other OSer who clued me in to the POE's factor, and that was a long time ago. And more recently as I've learned how to use more offensive systems, I see how each has its own fast break plays and spacing styles. I used to always play triangle or 3-2, and once I learned some new things, it was like, "Aha!"Comment

I think most of the wings I'm experiencing this with are either slashers or hybrids, not pure shooters. I always use icon-passing anyway, as the regular pass button is so unreliable that I only refer to it as the 'turnover button'.Hmm, I dunno. Re: OS: Teach Me How Thread
In defensive settings, particularly the "screen" side of things, does your setting (switch, double etc.) affect off ball screens aswell or purely on ball?Comment

Re: OS: Teach Me How Thread
I think this is right. Those off ball floppy and down screens and curls set up from the top of the key aren't affected by the settings. A lot of experienced players go off ball when they see those coming and move the defender under manually or switch so as not to give away the uncontested jumper or lane to the basket coming off the screen.Comment

Re: OS: Teach Me How Thread
So I'm playing as the Thunder in MyLeague.
Both times in Golden State resulted in 20 point losses approx.. Klay Thompson was the culprit. 40 odd each time.
Any advice offensively and defensively on how I can close this gap somewhat? Namely nullify Klay a little? He is an absolute NIGHTMARE! Haha....Comment

Go to individual player defensive settings and deny him off ball and play him tight with the ball.
If you see a screen developing where he is going to come off, go offball as the defender and deny him the catch or just make sure you're defender doesn't get lost or completely waxed on the screens.
That would be my set up to take him out of it.

Ok thanks - I'll try these things. He is basically beating me in every way imaginable. Driving, mid range, 3s. Off screens off and on the ball. Problem is that he can actually do all of these things in real life and 2K have replicated that quite well......
Should I consider doubling him on catches to try and prevent him from doing ANYTHING and making someone else beat me? Not like they have a league MVP or anything haha......(oops).
Any "video game" downsides to setting "double team on catch"? I never really do it so I am curious if anyone has any insights there......Comment

Re: OS: Teach Me How Thread
I considered that. I have Roberson on him. But when I sub him out (due to him being hopeless offensively) then I'm exposed.
Considered KD - but didn't actually try it. Having him chase Klay around on floppy sets didn't really appeal to me as I exhaust him on the other end of the floor..... but definitely worth the thought I suppose....Comment
