You could but I wouldn't take out a better player at the 4 just to run Pace. If anything think about running it with your bench. I would probably go swing if I wanted to change the default with the Thunder. I haven't labbed it any but you should check out DC_Biggavelli on YouTube for that.

How do we find out what freelance offense each coach runs by default?Always looking for solid CF25 Dynasty owners, follow the link to get started >> PS5 P5 Dynasty DiscordComment

Re: #SimNation: Teach Me How Thread
This isn't full proof because it just says default when you get in game but go to scrimmage mode and hit left on the d pad then r2 or rt to get to the freelance options. In scrimmage mode it normally says 3 out 2 in or whatever they are running. When you get into a game it normally starts off at default and you will have to select the specific freelance if it doesn't look like what you were practicing.Comment

Got you, that's exactly why I was asking. It usually says default in the game so I wasn't exactly sure if there was a way to checkAlways looking for solid CF25 Dynasty owners, follow the link to get started >> PS5 P5 Dynasty DiscordComment

Re: #SimNation: Teach Me How Thread
I know DCBiggavelli has this covered in his video, but the 3-2 and 4-1 sets are good if you have two or one big men that can consistently score. It's quite simple and when the computer starts doubling you can easily kick it out for a three point or mid range shot. Another simple option is to mix it with manual pick and rolls, with 4-1 it's way effective if you have a stretch 4 or a combo stretch PF who also has a good post game.Remember...It's just a game.Comment

Re: #SimNation: Teach Me How Thread
I'd like to know more about how people use freelance system sub options.
Specifically, I'd like to know when and why people prefer which sub options (such as motion cuts or freelance action) within the freelance systems.
I've mostly stuck with motion cuts but am now trying more freelance paired with POE's. I mostly use triangle and 4-out 1-in, but would like to know more about what other sim players like to do.Comment

To tag onto this, why do plays not always trigger? Seems that the Swing only triggers a play about half the time for me.I'd like to know more about how people use freelance system sub options.

Re: #SimNation: Teach Me How Thread
The motion cuts will call plays based on where you are on the court, so if you stand at the top of the key, the corner, the wings, etc it will call a play based on where you are at on the floor.I'd like to know more about how people use freelance system sub options.

Freelance calls actual plays from the playbook based on the spacing you are in, so if you are in triangle freelance and freelance actions they will call a ton of plays from the playbook that features that spacing.
Space the floor will just have everyone space the floor, they will move if you move to their spot but otherwise they will stay in their spot and give room to operate. No plays will be called in space the floor though, but you can manually call freelance smart plays, Sam Pham has a video on this.
For a quick example I played a game with the T-wolves and used the 3-2 Space the Floor sub option, why? Minny has Pekovic and Garnett, so you can easily run the offense by just dumping it to them and letting them go to work. When they start to key on your post players you can dump it out for isolations, pick and rolls, or open shots. I did not try this but motion cuts in 4-1 or 3-2 will make a player cut towards the basket after the post entry.
The freelance offense options depend on your personnel, you would not want to call pace if you don't have a stretch 4, so the options do depend on personnel. I can't really explain that but maybe another person can.Remember...It's just a game.Comment

Re: #SimNation: Teach Me How Thread
Depending on the team and freelance I normally start off using motion cuts. Motion cuts is going to make your team play within the system of the freelance. For the most part 3-2 and 4-1 are going to give you the same cuts depending on your position on the floor. These are the only 2 I space the floor or go to freelance as the game progresses for different looks.I'd like to know more about how people use freelance system sub options.

The freelance sub option will set the players to play to tendency. The 3-2 and 4-1 are fairly traditional formations and it's fine to freelance those imo. Freelancing in the other offenses seem to be too frantic to me. It's a little bit too much movement for me to catch on to what they are trying to do so I stick with motion cuts and mix in a lot of set plays with those.Comment

Re: #SimNation: Teach Me How Thread
I mostly play out of 3-2 and 4-1 sets when I wanna go freelance. For the sub options I alternate between motion cuts and space the floor depending how many good shooters I have on the wings.I'd like to know more about how people use freelance system sub options.

If I have 3 good shooters I will always go space the floor in a 3-2. If I have less than or equal to 2 good shooters then I am going motion cuts. With good shooters in hand I don't need the cuts since I will just space and drive. If I got a Tony Allen type on my team then I will go motion cuts so Defense can't bring a lot of help.
4-1 I go 90% space the floor most of the time. I only go 4-1 when I have a stretch 4. I might do motion cuts for a 4-1 if I have a great shooter/cutter type player like a Klay Thompson or Wesley Matthews.
*I in general stay away from the "freelance" sub option UNLESS I want to add in smart play to my offence which I do about 15-20% of the time.

Re: #SimNation: Teach Me How Thread
Yes they are, say for instance you have pick and roll offense set for your offensive POE, whatever set you run will run PNR plays while in the spacing of said set. You will need to set it to freelance actions to get that effect though. This applies to any of the other POE, feed post, get shooters open, etc.

Re: #SimNation: Teach Me How Thread
Are you asking how to consistently block shots or just affect shots?Originally posted by JoeyKirbyHow do you protect the rim with your big men on drive layup/dunks?
Motion cuts are pretty much set plays inside of a formation that you don't have to call so they aren't affected.
Freelance doesn't seem to be bothered by POE either. Your players are going to put themselves in position to score. Player tendencies may affect them just a tad. For example, if you're driving with the ball from a 4-1, you will get a backdoor cut from the weakside more often from a player that cuts a lot. A spot up shooter will look to spot up.
POE effects your 2K smart playcalling the most on the offensive end or if you have auto playcalling on.#WashedGamerComment
