Why don't people utilize the post game more in Rec/MyTeam?

I don't really get it. As devastating as the post game is in this game, I don't understand why most people don't utilize it more, especially big men. And hell, even the guards, because most guards have absolutely no idea how to defend it.

Post game used to be pretty terrible, with big man missing tons of easy layups against small defenders standing 3ft behind them. It does feel a lot better recently, must be one of the things they silently patched. You can actually make hook shots with high frequencies.

Mainly because the protect the ball animation are not good for big men. They don't keep the ball up high so when they get doubled which happens a lot before they can make a move like pass, pump fake etc... the ball is knocked free.

The 2nd reason is the guys you play with don't know basketball. I have a center and every game I play with randoms or guys I know. I have to constantly remind them to feed me when I post up. They telling me to cut to the basket, only to fire a flashy pass through traffic, which makes me go into that Randy Moss animation to jump catch it and lose the ball. When you could of just went to the wing made a post entry pass & I can make a post move before help arrives.

3rd reason is guys are just stat chasing and when you feed the post, you lose the assist, unless he goes up immediately. I played many of games and had deep post position only for teammates to run to the corner & shoot a 3.

I tried to utilize the post game in rec but everytime I posted up I got swarmed by multiple steal spammers.

Most people that play this game don't know ball they only know 3pointers and dunks. Play a ranked matched and see that post game and playbook are never used

Because everyone wants to be small forwards and guards and pretend they're Jordan.

Honestly, I didn't make a power forward or center, because I knew people would never pass me the ball in the post. I just use my SF to post.

Then that should make people want to use the post game even more if they want to pretend to be Jordan or Kobe.

I've learned to watch nearly everyone on defense the second I turn my back to go into the post. If nobody comes off their man, easy post fade shot with Fade Ace. If they do, easy pass to an open shot. And yes, I do use it quite a bit on my SG in the Rec.

Because 3 pointers and midrange shots are more effective. Which is stupid.

Re: Why don't people utilize the post game more in Rec/MyTeam?

                  Because it's pointless.

I barely ever play another bigman in the Park in the first place, let alone one that plays like an actual center...
Most of the time I post up and get doubled/tripled by smaller guys spamming steal.

There's times when you post up and your defender is spamming x and you can't even move. Or he reaches and you should be able to use his poor positioning to spin off of him and you still get the ball knocked away.

You can be 7'3 and try and hookshot over a point guard and still miss it point blank with a high inside rating..which is frustrating as you know.

I'm usually stuck setting pick and rolls up at the top of the key for the most part, and my offense is grabbing boards and putting the ball back up for a dunk or a pass out for an open 3...
it's just how Park is and it's not going to change unless you play against fair opponents or they fix the steals...

There's only one move I have that works almost every time:

Catch the ball while posting up (don't dribble or make a move that makes you put the ball down). You can add some fakes if you want to, as long as they keep your pivot planted. Then I press Y (triangle) and the left stick down and you'll do a really nice faceup move like retro Amare and it usually gets you a free dunk.
I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

Every time I try to post up on the park or rec, the defender will back completely off you JUST so you can't do a post move on them.. It's really annoying.

They'd rather back up before the entry pass and get a cheap lane jump steal, or back up after the pass in hopes you'll do one of those weak around the rim animations so they can block it..

I have 2 big men, I hardly post up due to when you do there's no real space to do much a wing defender makes 2 steps and is ready to steal the ball.

I'd love to post up, but literally every time I do if it's not for like 1-2 seconds i'm going to get ripped.

Another thing is Even with my inside scoring maxed out for some reason I still miss hook shots with a smaller defender on me who isn't even contesting.

I think this could be fixed by making the courts a litter bigger.. giving us the right spacing to actually get something going, and also better ball protection when in the post.

I just finished a few Rec games, and I was absolutely wrecking the other teams with my Center in the post. I rarely ever go for hook shots, the post fadeaway is pure money. The trick to using the post is watching the defense and their reactions. And hell, when done right, you can even kill the double team.

because most people that play the game(and more specifically, play those two cheesy modes) are basketball noobs who dont know the ins and outs of basketball. all they know is dunk, three point shot, lebron james, steph curry.

they dont know what a pick and pop is, they dont know what a post game is, they dont know how to run real plays or how to play solid man defense.

you encounter these people allll the time online in various forms. its astounding.

                            What post game?

Lol seriously this game is too arcadey and fast paced to try to post up because anytime you catch the ball all 5 guys cover you and spam steal. Especially when you're a big. If not 5 at least one comes over and the guy who has the ball panics and throws a cross court pass out of bounds.

Is this a serious question? There are literally 200 more dances and ridiculous animations for your myPlayer than there are post moves. You can't even chose what your post spin looks like. You can have about 30 hooks and post fades total.

It's sad how much space they've wasted on this ridiculous stuff that doesn't enhance user experience on the court. But all 30 mascots are in the game for your picking when you become legend 3. More dance packages then dunk packages and dribble moves. It's almost like they're trolling us for 60 dollars

I've seen a lot of guys use the post in the rec to score, and in case anyone hasn't figured it out yet, post fadeaways are just like midrange shots in terms of success rate and green releases.

The only thing is though, and someone already said this a few posts back, but post play will never be as effective as shooting 3's and midranges with guards and small forwards each time down court. It sucks but it's completely true. Why waste time with post moves when you can easily run down and pop a 3 pointer in less than 5 seconds of the shot clock? Also consider that the better you get at 3's and middies with new patch, you'll probably be shooting somewhere between 70-85%.

Post moves and post shots just can't keep up with that kind of cheesy production.
