The old Duncan dunk packages were cool for older big men that don't do flashy dunks..Dwight and Amare...and they had more guard layups and dunks too...

Now you got guards looking like high flyers that can barely dunk and older players doing flashy layups instead of having packages where that stuff isn't in them.
Agreed. Personally i miss nene's dunk package, that would've been perfect in this game. Quick dunks to avoid getting blocked while still having some flair. My preference would be to get rid of dunk packs altogether and let us select individual dunks. Or if they keep packs they could at least let us adjust them, meaning give us the option to go in to the pack and (de)select the dunks we want.

I agree that there can be too many animations but imo it doesn't really apply to the underhand free throw for two reasons:

1 - I don't believe for a second that it's one of the least used animations. I used to see it all the time, if anything it was one of the most used ones.

2 - This particular animation is one of the few that looks completely different from others. So if it's about having too many options why not take out the dozens of animations that look almost exactly the same?

In all of my years playing 2k, I never knew there was an underhanded FT animation. I would have at least tried it.

I feel bad for bumping this, but all this fuss over Steph Curry's short video reminded me of this thread.

That fuss so many of you are raising because of what looks like a chipped tooth? (I have no idea what happened there either.)

Now you know how I felt when I realized 2K14 and 2K15 had Rick Barry's free throw removed.

One offseason Shaq trained for days using the granny shot and actually shot about 75% when using it.

But when it came to game time he never used it because he didn't want to look like an idiot or have people laughing at him. It wasn't "cool".

He says he does sort of regret it but at the same time isn't sure if he would change it even now.

Bummer to know they removed this free throw signature, particularly with Rick Barry in the game as an option.

Separately, I'm absolutely awful at underhand free throws in real life. I always thought it was interesting when folks treated the form as a cure-all, like any struggling free throw shooting big man could switch and experience success. If done correctly, the underhand free throw works, just like if regular free throws are done correctly. The physics described in the post in the original link represents the angles and backspin earned from a properly shot normal free throw.

Anyway, I'd certainly support its re-entry in 2K.

See Shaq couldve been the most dominant player in history if he had just swallowed his pride.
