Re: Confirmed Classic Teams for NBA 2k16

6 teams remain to be named, and here's what I think the chances are for 8 possible teams to make it, each with 1 being the highest and 8 being the lowest.

    1. 2004 Pistons
    2. 2005 Suns
    3. 2006 Heat
    4. 2004 T-Wolves
    5. 2003 Spurs
    6. 2003 Nets
    ---CUT OFF--
    7. 2007 Warriors
    8. 2008 Lakers

Now the years on the teams may vary slightly, but I'm personaly 3 for 3 in thinking that any 00's Mavs team, a Yao & TMAC squad, and the Jailblazers would make it after they announced the initial 3 (00 Raptors, 08 Celtics, 01 Lakers).

The way it's looking, nothing before '99-'00 will be in. But that's not a bad thing either, because I know a lot of us want to play as prime versions of old veterans/recently retired players.

Really wouldn't get your hopes up about the t-wolves of that time. No point without Spree, and I don't see him agreeing. If they are indeed just doing 2000 era teams, your other guesses are as good as anyone.

Mainly for the pistons, they need 3 of the remaing starters to agree. None of which seem like the type to say no. Which is good, as if we have to have recent teams only this year, it's a team I want.

The 02 or 03 nets also seem likely to me. Really hoping we don't get yet another laker squad from 08 or so.

That's not true as a fellow Raptor fan I would expect you to know
        differently.

We all remember the "3 Year rule" for players coming out of high
school. T-Mac started blossoming after the All-Star break in 2000
and was the Raptors best player in the playoffs where he looked
like a future stud and franchise player and better than Vince Carter
where everybody wanted to give him the max. Only problem was
T-Mac didn't want to play in VC's shadow anymore.

To be fair to Vince Carter that series he had Latrell Sprewell guard
him one of the best perimeter defenders of that era and Alan Houston
        guarded McGrady.

So do you rate Raptors T-Mac based on his entire season? or rate
him based on what he was by the end of the season where he officially
        broke out?

If we do get the 03-04 Pistons, hopefully Ben has the random cornrolls/afro for games.

I still think there'd be a point. He was the 3rd best player on the team. You still have Sam Cassell's best season ever and most importantly, KG's most dominant. It'd still be worth it, imo.

I wonder if they'd give Darko's potential based on what he could have been or what he turned out to be.

I remember he would always use the Afro at the Palace and then have the Cornrows when playing on the Road!
I would be Really Happy even if it's just the Afro + Headband Combo!

I disagree. Yes TMac did come on after the break (more like the last month or so) they had a big losing streak after the break (9 games ?). But he never was a starter or got starter minutes (that was also one of the reasons why he left). He really didn't have any range either (he got that in Orlando).

I still have NBA 2k for dreamcast maybe I should power it up and check out his rating.

Mitch was a better player than Reggie honestly. And considered Mitch likely isn't even a top 10 SG of all time that really shows just how overrated Reggie is. Reggie had some HUGE games in meaningful playoff match ups, and once he retired that's what people base his entire career around. But that's what happens with a lot of guys.

He was a big shot maker and a great three point shooter. His game was fairly one-dimensional though. He wasn't a shooter only, but no other part of his game was really that far above average. He's not much different than a healthy Michael Redd in my book. He had a long healthy career, that's his biggest accomplishment.

Sometimes in life your just wrong, I'm wrong......your correct. I actuskly also have tapes of old games from late in the season and youtubed others and TMac did start at the 2. They inserted him shortly after the break and would alternate muggsy and Doug Christie at the 1 (depending in matchup).

I'm wondering if they have the play-off roster (so include players traded for in that year) or start of the year. For some teams it makes a big difference and I really hope it's the end of the year / play-off roster. Here's to compare 07-08 Rockets before and after ASB (Play-offs):

Before: Francis, Mike James, Bonzi Wells & Kirk Snyder
After: Francis (injured), Bobby Jackson, Mike Harris

Technically Francis was part of the team and since he's not with any other classic team it would be awesome if they include him, but he should not be high rated. Mike Harris was a fan favourite due to his hustle and part of the 22 game winning streak, he should be in!!

I guess that would seem like a waste. I get the nostalgia, but he wasn't that great his rookie year at least efficiency wise (not that uncommon for a rookie). So many other teams I'd rather have, but that's just me.

Yes I agree on the team not being that good lol Its just like having the 84' Bulls with rookie Jordan. That team wasn't that good, it would be dope to play with the LeBron James at his most athletic peak
