Re: Confirmed Classic Teams for NBA 2k16

It's funny every time one of these threads pop up there are teams mentioned that should never, ever, ever be considered a "classic" team or even remotely close to being up to par with the teams 2k already has lol.

I love Vince Carter as much as anyone, probably more, but there's no way 2K is going to add in one of those extremely mediocre Raptors teams. The only reason the Sixers made it is so they could battle the Kobe/Shaq team.

And IMO calling Reggie Miller a legend is a big stretch, and while it would be cool to battle MJ or Ewing with him that's just another 90's team that the classic list is already crammed full of. I'd rather see a Barkely's Suns team if they absolutely felt the need to add another Bulls matchup squad.

I'd rather see more variety, a Pistons championship squad, more 60's-80's teams, bring back the legends that were removed, etc. instead of adding every decent team from the 90's.

I hope we get the 03/04 Pistons as a classic team in NBA 2k16, They were my Favourite team of all Time, and This coming from a Timberwolves Fan when KG won the MVP that Season, Detroit Were a Fantastic Team, No Standout Players, Just 5 Unique Players at each Position that Complimented Each other Really Well and they also had an excellent Bench and coach In Larry Brown!

Antonio Davis is a MUST for the 99-00 Raps. The only other guy needed is Dee Brown. He was actually the starting point guard for that team for the majority of that season (not Muggsey).

The 2000 Raptors have already been confirmed for NBA 2K16. http://www.operationsports.com/forum...hoes-more.html

Also, respectfully, I think classic/retro teams can cover a wide array when it comes to NBA 2K inclusion, extending beyond mere championship contenders. For instance, the 1993 Hornets are a blast to use, with a diverse set of fun characters (two electric stars in Larry Johnson & Alonzo Mourning, 5'3'' Muggsy Bogues, and lights out Dell Curry). I'd feel similarly about the hypothetical inclusion of, say, the 2007 Warriors.

The 99-00 "mediocre Raptors" team is in the game, and that has been confirmed.

You may not like him, and you can call him out for lacking an overall game, but calling a first ballot hall of famer a legend isn't really a "stretch".

Perhaps... Though Bill Walton is also in the hall, and on the 50 greatest players list, though he never even was healthy enough to play a full season. He literally had ONE good playoff run before another as a 6th man with Boston.

I guess it depends what you'd consider a legend.

Well that's great, they will no doubt be a fun team to play with.. Still odd that 2k would include more teams just because they are "fun" rather than more of the truly great teams throughout history. Glad to have a young Vince back in the game though!

If I had to guess, at least a few of the new teams they've included are almost a direct result of many of those team's players already being in 2K. The 2000 Raptors and 2001 Lakers, for instance, already have upwards of eight players a piece already with character models and licenses in place from other teams those players are currently featured.

Depending upon how committed to detail 2K wished to be (ex: removing Vince Carter's beard for his 2000 likeness), some of these new classic teams may have required nothing more than new court art, some possible jersey alterations, and some attribute tweaking. I'd support the inclusion of other great teams from years gone by, but I acknowledge they'd probably all take more work to throw together (acquiring rights, likely instituting new jerseys, creating entirely new player models and faces, etc.).

Damn if thats the case then perhaps no 1994 Seattle Supersonics or all the other teams (minus the '08 Celtics, 01 Lakers and 00 Raptors) that we listed from the previous thread.

True. Maybe finally a Suns team, wasn't Barkley the only one missing? And they even brought him back for the Dream Team.

Wouldn't mind seeing more celtics teams, Reggie Lewis I believe was on the legends showcase DLC so they could add one of his teams, bring back Kareem! Hal Greer was on the showcase, the Sixers team with he and Wilt with the rival Celtics (mostly in the game already) would be a great addition too. Or even the Warriors team they met in the finals (Barry and Nate on DLC).

If more 2000's squads are being added I would love a Yao + T-Mac or Francis team. And bring the Kings back for sure. I would assume the Blazers are out (they don't even list Stouadmire's name on team records), possibly a Pacers team since their finals foe Lakers have made the cut and everyone has been begging for Reggie.

There are really lots of possibilities of they bring back the guys from the DLC.
