Re: Could 2K Change 2K16 Platforms After E3?

There is no way in hell they ever go exclusive on one platform. They make far too much money from Xbox and PC sales for it to even be considered. And this isn't me saying 2K or T2 are in it for the money I'm saying it's not viable for them to cut out two thirds of their fan base.

As usual it will release on Xbox, PS4 and PC. It will, just like many games have had in the past, have timed based exclusivity on one console. It happened for years with Call of Duty on Xbox and that never went exclusive to xbox. Sony pay a bit more money to get that exclusivity which shouldn't matter after initial launch. The problem is though they decided it was gonna extend to everything including key game play updates on 2k15.

Re: Could 2K Change 2K16 Platforms After E3?

      This entire post is ridiculous.

They just spent money and man hours a few months ago porting NBA 2k15 to the PC. There is absolutely no financial, creative, sensical, logical, or non time-wasting reason to make 2k16 a PS4 exclusive.

They would lose 1/2 of their market to NBA Live or XBOX would lose their basketball gaming market to playstation.

The only company to benefit would be playstation. 2K would lose money and customers, Steam would lose money, and Microsoft would lose money.

So the short answer is, No. You're wrong 2k16 will not be a PS4 exclusive.

They aren't holding off the cover athlete , they show the player the night of the finals

This would be a huge surprise to me for this to happen. If it were to, I could certainly see ps4 being the choice for exclusivity though.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Something that hasn't really been touched on is the VC aspect. 2K makes way too much revenue off in game currency purchases. And that's somewhat difficult to track down to the exact dollar. While Sony could come in and say we'll buy this share at $x, there's no way to pin point a number that's constantly changing.

It will never be console exclusive. The Xbox and PC loss and the fact that Sony wouldn't be able to make a hard offer would make the transaction very difficult.

Yup, they're allowing people to pre-order 2k16 on Xbox One and the 360 for a few weeks, then at E3 they're going to laugh and say "Jk guys. This is a PlayStation exclusive. Sorry!"

Come on, man. The covers might not be the real deal or the final product, but 2k16 is NOT going to be a Sony exclusive.
