Leaderboards has never been an measurement of how skilled you are. It was always a measurement of who is the biggest cheeser, DCer, and most frequent player.

So i dont really see the fun in it.

Leaderboards should definitely be in there. Even if you don't care about where you rank (like me I don't care) there's still people that would love that. Every mutliplayer game has a leaderboard I believe. I know for a fact all the other sports games have leaderboards (FIFA, NHL, MLB the Show, Madden, even NBA Live). There's really no excuse for it not being there.

Facts, there really is no excuse for this. Last year on the X1,Ps4 I only gave them a pass cuz it was their first year (Still no excuse cuz 2k6 Xbox to 360 still had leaderboards) so we let it slide. But for 2 years in a row for the new systems to not have this is a lost of words... If they bring it back tho they need to fix the leaderboards to be what we said previously. Be in the top 100 etc has to be a out who you beat not the most games played to be in the top.

I'd like a teamup leaderboard based on teammate grade and efficiency added as well. I don't really need bragging rights but it's pretty cool to play against/with someone in the top 100.

They also need to implement a leaderboard for park/rec or that C word that rhyme with brew. There no way my players can see how they stack against the world. Why do they only show ONE person record to the world and it's on the loading screen. Also Rec and park leaderboards need to be completely separate. When it show your player stats it's should say park stats and vice versa for the rec. It should show all your stats as well, W/L record, points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, and FG%(At least for rec). It should also show your rank. If it there no process of forming teams like that C word that rhyme with brew. They should create a ranking system for the individual leaderboards that take all of those stats into consideration(Maybe some stats more than others. ex. W/L)and determine your rank with it

They need to bring it back. All I play is ranked games and this feature is more or less pointless for me without a leader board. Nba live will have it although didn't work all that well.. If you 2k wqnt the best basketball game you have to have a leaderboards

What happened to playing because you love basketball? That should be enough to keep you enjoying ranked games

You can play because you love the game, but there is the competitive side that also matches that same love for the game as well. I'm that type of person that wants to have fun playing the game, but I also want to win and also be shown the recognition I deserve. There is nothing wrong with that.

I would love sortable leaderboards, so for anytime someone asks me why I don't play with them or whatever the reason is, I could tell them, "Check out the APG leaderboards and then ask me again if you still don't get it."

The reason why this franchise has gone down hill since 2K11
is because a large majority of people suck at this game and
the developers listen to them.

Has any sports game out there significantly changed its gameplay
and/or contols scheme as much as 2K does on a yearly basis?

And why do they do this? because the people that suck will complain
one year its to easy to dunk, its to hard to hits 3's, I can't play defense
waaah waaah waaah

And for years all I hear about is there's to many cheesers online
waaaaah waaah waaaah

There weren't that many cheesers as people make it out to be.
The true cheesers that exploit glitches in the game were few and
far between.

Most people can't adjust to other peoples game style or don't
know how to master a Euro Step, spin move, drop step, step through
etc. If somebody uses a zone defense repeatedly and you can't score
the problem is you not them. People take notice when something is
working on their opponent and if it keeps on working why would they
stop? I remember people that would freak out if you didn't play on the
ball defense 100% of the time.

If you learn everything there is to in the game you can stop cheesers
because Cheesers are also crappy players and one dimensional.

Online is a highly competitive environment and most people HATE
losing and instead of taking responsibility for sucking and trying
to get better they blame the game and their opponents or they'll
pull the plug or let the pause time run out.

Thats why I believe they got rid of leaderboards and always dramatically
alter gameplay and controls every year to appease all the cry babies
that just suck.

yeah. i don't understand why 2k doesn't have a real online ranking system with leaderboards. it should be standard for any competitive online game, yet 2k doesn't have it. it makes playing online so much more enjoyable when you know your wins are helping you to move up the leaderboard. when you get a win against a high-ranked opponent and see your rank go up...it's nice to see that direct "reward" for your play. it also adds so much more intensity to the online games when you know you're playing a high-ranked opponent and you know that beating them will give you a larger increase in your overall rank. it just makes online play way more fulfilling.
