Oh, okay. Born got banned a while ago and just recently was reinstated so I had lost track of his goings on. Pretty cool that long-time community members have either become developers (The Czar) or are close friends with people on the inside.

Re: SimNation Sim Hangout Tonight taking question (Da_Czar & OG)
Chimed in to tonite's show and it was a really fun listen. Loved the boxing talk too.
The more i hear about this game the more i begin to salivate. And if the the adjustments and scheming are as good as advertised, its going to breathe life into every game.
Its great getting all this insight from the minds behind the game but one thing stood out in particular:
at around the 46:00 mark OG says "All basketball problems were fixed with basketball solutions"
It was almost a word for word quote from a post i made back in July where i said:
...its just good to know there are people on the inside who think along the lines i do.Comment

And OG and czar should get some sort of marketing bonus! These guys blogs and shows hyped me more than anything else. Who needs a marketing team when you got these guys on your team! LolBasketball Playbooks

Still doesn't explain that 85 overall rating for ancient Kobe Bryant. I better be able to smother him on the perimeter, forcing him to drive and miss a whole bunch of interior shots or I want my money back, 2K! And Kawhi Leonard better have his beard too!

Plus great to hear chris Paul wasn't super fast but his dribbling and other attributes still set him apart and made him feel like himself. But only time will tell. Can't wait to dive in.Basketball Playbooks

You know overall doesn't matter. It all depends on if they play like themselves. Overall could be tied to basketball iq being a 99 or something.

It matters in franchise mode with player contracts (how much the CPU will pay), it matters with the CPU building lineups (that's why you constantly see Manu Ginobili /Jamal Crawford starting over Danny Green/J.J. Redick) and other aspects I'm not thinking of cause its 3AM and I'm still up.
It matters because Kobe has obviously been given a boost somewhere (perimeter defense, defensive IQ, athleticisim or shooting) to keep him in that mid 80's range. No way is a past his prime Bryant (or Ginobili) better than an elite 3-and-D (in his prime) specialist like Danny Green, but in 2K they both are.

No offnse, but I hate when people say that "overall doesn't matter" when the opposite is the truth; overall matters a lot.

As far as Kobe I hear you. Something is probably fishy somewhere. He's Kobe and the people would freak probably if he was a 79 or 80.Basketball Playbooks

None taken at all! Good points! Lol! I forget about that stuff and was thinking from a pure game standpoint. I never do more than 1 year so I have never dealt with any of those things and am oblivious to them.

I just hope they've been consistent and given other injured stars (Jrue Holiday, Chris Bosh, Derrick Rose, Tony Parker, etc.) just as much leeway but from the looks of Durant's overall rating drop they might not have. That's my thing either be consistently bias or just be objective and as fair as possible.

There's a new setting under Edit Player > Vitals called "Force Non-Starter" which allows you to force the lineup/rotation logic to never consider that player for a starting position. You can set it to "On", "On (1 Season)" (meaning it will automatically reset at the start of the next year) and "Off".
Manu is an "On (1 Season)" out of the box but you can edit that setting for him (if in your mind he should be starting or you don't want it to reset to off after a year) or for any other player.

One question I have: 23, are you Nelson Blake or is that someone else on here? I'm thinking that is either you, King or 24th but not sure which one. The game sounds like its going to be a blast to play and (eventually) fully edit. Even the coaches' grades can be edited which awesome too (thanks Vlad).

Re: SimNation Sim Hangout Tonight taking question (Da_Czar & OG)
This episode was full of great information, then i realized that my Bulls fired Thibs and I won't be able to see his defensive philosophy in action smh. That said it will be a treat to play real Xs and Os like the game of basketball should be. Really liked the feedback from Franchise Play, and the fact that ppl were getting dubbed by the CPU Bucks. The days of going over 60 wins every season are over, and I'm excited to see this in action.

SimNation Sim Hangout Tonight taking question (Da_Czar & OG)
No doubt! That was the best thing I heard in the whole show along with OG trying to figure out a problem from czars offense for 25 hours straight by not band aiding it but solving it with a real basketball solution! Great stuff! This team just gets it! And it wouldn't shock me if they read that post. You, sundown, and stillfeelme have posted some great stuff all year!
I was reading this thread after watching the sim hangout, impressed and envious of the deepness of knowledge and the way these guys talk ball and sim like a first language. I was definitely not expecting to read my name in any context here. That means a lot especially coming from you, van.
Did you or anyone else catch how we scheme switches for pick and roll defense this year? I asked a couple times but it was probably missed. It sounded like you had some control over who switches and how the team guards certain players but I'm not sure it means you can set switch conditions based on the matchups that would produce. I can see an interface to control this fully being a bit fiddly.
That late-clock switching I saw in the OG blog is sweet though! There was no way to replicate that last year.Comment
