Re: Will MJ actually look like MJ this year?

2k12 was the gold standard for classic rosters. What was packaged in along with the DLC legends on the disc and the reditor program made for some truly amazing roster sets.

2k11-2k13 had such long shelf lives because of the custom rosters.

There is no reason the team at 2k can't get the classic teams in 2k16 to this level. It's really a shame they abandoned this aspect of the game for the past few years. It's curious too because you have to assume the developers know there is a fairly large and passionate community of players that love the retro teams and custom rosters.

Here's hoping they come correct this season with great looking classic teams, a better CAP system and easier roster customization and sharing.

Man, just LISTEN to the authentic arena sounds here from Chicago Stadium in 2k12, and the great commentary in regards to the legends - you get NONE of this now. Zero arena music in retro stadiums, and zero commentary about the legends.

Funnily enough - Benny the Bull's 'uniform' at 8:46 looks like our current gen mess we have now!

Wow ...they don't even have his signature compression shorts or chalk ritual in 2k14-15... Ridiculous. The Greatest of all time..they need to do something about this...its almost like they are taking for granted that he is allowing his likeness to be used.

I definitely agree they're taking him for granted. How amazing would it be to have Jordan fully transition into the next generation of consoles properly and take advantage of everything the more powerful consoles have to offer. Everything about him should be improved by now.

I don't play with the current teams as it is, if they had Jordan and the other legends down, 100% - I'd be hard pressed to put my controller down....as it stands though, even with all of the great things they've added this year, I think we're all in for more of the same.

Bad cyberfaces, horrendous uniforms and no arena sounds. Almost makes me want to go back to 2k12....

Should be interesting to see what they do with this year's game. No way in hell they keep that scrawny body on jordan with these newly implemented body scans. They HAD to make a change. The body is half the battle, must correct the face and accessories. I know a dev has to see this; please give word to the art team. Trust me....many people are upset but they just don't voice it.

What's the status on Jordan's signature dunks these days? Still in? I'm currently playing a '93 Nets/Bulls contest in 2K12 and it's still kind of awesome. I recalled his rock-the-cradle and free throw line flushes but I forgot they had his signature one-handed leaner too. Is that still around?

Sidenote, what happened to OS'er PortlandBlazer? His rosters were absolute perfection. I don't think I've seen anyone come close to replicating what he put together on XBox360 in terms of accuracy and detail.

It is what it is, we all have our likes and dislikes. I'm a Jordan fan boy, and I never got onboard the Lebron hype train, his game doesn't 'do it' for me. I'm an old head and prefer players and the game from yesteryear.

Jordan's rock the cradle one hand and two hand are still in, the leaner has gone, and I'm uncertain on the free throw line ordeal, I think somewhere along the line they toned that down.

Tragic for his leaner to be gone, as that was probably his most frequent dunk. I believe only the 85-86 Jordan has the free throw line dunk.

Re: Will MJ actually look like MJ this year?

These 2k12 vids are making a case for going out and getting a 360. The animations, sig moves, uniforms and courts were just spot on. Those era specific filters in the Greatest Mode too...man do i miss that game.

It's just mind boggling that they can't make the classics with the same level of detail on the far more powerful PS4...or maybe they have, finally. One can hope.

The additional teams, although I would have far preferred 70's-90's classics over what was added, give me hope that they put paid some desperately needed attention to the classics teams. The inclusion of "bad boys" style defense and the allegedly beefed up CAP all COULD point to a return to realistic retro rosters.

We will all find out soon enough.

I haven't seen anything yet, though there's a screenshot of a Kareem Abdul-Jabbar card in MyTeam, so that would seem to suggest his return to the fold.

Vince Carter had a beard and same exact body as his 37 year old grizzly scan as his MyTeam 2007 nets player. That is unacceptable in my eyes. If the classic teams don't have accurate models/faces AND packages I will be bummed. Seriously if they spent time on the 2000 raptors VC with his exact dunks and play style I would SERIOUSLY buy the game just for that type of inclusion... I've been dying to play with a young VC forever. Same goes for young MJ, Lebron, Tmac, etc. This is huge for me. Whether that is selfish or not I can't understand the inclusion of these classic teams as just roster edits basically....please 2k..or sign me up I will design those guys religiously for 10$ and hour...
