You know what they should do about this? Why not do what the last NBA Jam , on the last Gen consoles, did with the faces? Clean it up of course, but I liked that

Ahhhh, can't believe we missed this - unless it's hidden way back in the meat of this thread....

2k need to bring back Michael's pre game powder toss......not sure why on earth they would remove that, yet have tons of current day players equipped with their own pre-game rituals....

It's time to have players sitting on the bench with towels.

And 100% agree on the pre-game rituals...

Michael also, at some point, used to touch the front part of his shoes before games, and also for years he would kinda kick the floor with the front of his shoes while waiting for tip-off.

Yeah - the toe taps!! I actually think that's in game, but not exclusive to Michael.

I use the Bulls about 90% of the time - playing a few games yesterday with Mike, he almost certainly needs his layup package expanded/updated.

We're talking about one of the most iconic aerial shot creators in NBA history here and he only has TWO layups in his package?

Needs to change, 2k. Take a look below for reference:

Re: Will MJ actually look like MJ this year?

One thing I remember hearing a tonne of was how when 2K14 NG came out, it was a complete re-build. So this has me hopeful that with each year, we move closer to where we want the game to be in terms of signature stuff and legends looks.

I also want to see signature animations extend to the post up game (not just dribbling and shooting animations). But I know that may be a while away.

But back on topic, to see MJ hopefully improve, both looks wise and animations to the point that I want to use him is where I hope things are heading.

Daveberg, good post about his finishes at the rim.

Man - that would be incredible if they added signature post moves. Shaq with his own power drop step and the 'tornado' spin. Ewing with his post up, drive to the key hooks, and of course Hakeem with his signature Dream shake (Another move that USED to be in the game that was taken out - 2k12 was the last sighting I believe)

Talking of finishes at the rim, was also thinking about Pippen - that guy had some NASTY aerial moves himself. A very distinctive dunking style and some incredible layups too - definitely deserving of his OWN layup and Dunk package.

                        Hard to argue with that.

Personally I think the entire 92 Dream Team should ALL have their own DISTINCT packages ranging from layups, dunks, shooting, dribbling etc. etc. I mean, if they're gonna put 'em in, then PUT 'EM IN! Time to cut the generic ssshhhh......tuff......

I feel like signature styles are somewhat under prioritized by 2K (could be way off here)...... if they dedicated a bigger % of their dev cycle just really making each player move and feel like themselves (with the obvious exceptions of course - keeping to the marquee names) it would be hard not to enjoy it (despite the usual legacy issues).

Something like this could see me playing the game the entire year until the next release being honest.

But I'm talking extending the signature styles all the way through the classic teams (MJ, Pip, Magic, Bird, T-Mac, Vince, Shaq, Hakeem, Ewing etc. etc.).

If I had my way they'd dump ALL that valuable time and manpower being consumed on things like #BETHESTORY etc. and get cracking with more signature stuff.

(If I had my way )

And don't bother explaining to me why they don't as it would be a wasted post.

Sales/mainstream market rules supreme. I know I know.....

Re: Will MJ actually look like MJ this year?

What level of signature animations and celebrations was 2K16 at, in terms of classic teams? For the past few years it has felt as though the signature stuff, especially with classics, has dwindled. But then again, I've only had a chance to play a small amount. I was at least slightly surprised to see Vince Carter had a clockwise 360, but I can't remember if it was truly his 360 or just luck of the draw in terms of the game having a generic clockwise animation and applying it to him.

Is there anything signature about any of the other classic players (aside from Michael Jordan, since I know he has a few)? Like, is Shaq's signature logo slam still there for those moments after he power drop steps? Does Allen Iverson have his specific crossover dribble? Karl Malone have his high-release-but-not-super-exaggerated fallaway? Is Mutombo's finger wave in there?

Seems like there's such potential there. Even just super-authentic dunk packages for guys like Shawn Kemp and Vince Carter would be incredible. A lot of times, using those two players feels like I'm just dunking with a generic incredible dunker instead of actually dunking with Vince Carter or Shawn Kemp.

Wasn't there something mentioned about 2K17 having more signature styles or something? I'm sure it's for the current players but the historic players may get a touch up too.

Yep. Just saw the video of Mike Wang saying that 2K17 will have the most signature animations ever. There's hope.

                            starts about the 1:10 mark.

Wow over 1,000 threads in this joint. Hopefully 2k has taken full notice of this. By the way I hope they added more signatures for Classics as well and not just for today's nba superstars.

obviously by this thread alone, there is a huge fan base for the classic teams. I hope 2k warms up to us.
