Re: Will MJ actually look like MJ this year?

I may be alone in this kind of thinking but there are a few signs pointing to an improved Jordan for 2k16, not just graphically but gameplay wise.

One is they have him on the special edition cover and from past installments of Jordan being on the cover of 2k (2k11 and 2k12) they had Jordan in the game the correct way with all his signature play.

Second thing to note is they implemented Jordan Rules in the game, now why would they add that type of detail to classic teams for a Jordan that doesn't even have all his signature skills in the game to be able to break down that type of defense.

Call me crazy but I feel if nothing else Jordan will feel, look, and play like himself maybe more so then any other classic player in the game, but its just a feeling I have. I have great confidence in 2k this year.

I guess when you put them side to side, that' kind of puts thsi arugment in context, I certainly agree with you now 100%. I don't understand why they would "arguably" not give the best player in the world a proper face lift for next gen. I think if you look at Larry Bird on next gen, it's clear they don't care about the faces and hair too much for the legends.

I made this statement before "its kinda like they are taking jordan allowing his likeness for granted". Like they're saying " mehhhhhh just slap him on there and give him a 99... Who cares" this really bothers me. After seeing him look so terrible in 2k14, I was almost certain they would address this in 15.... Boy was I wrong. It was a shame to see Jordan look and move so generic.

I think it just shows it was harder for them to create players on the next gen, or they just got lazy. But that concerns me for any hope on accurate retro teams they keep implementing.

Then again, maybe that's really why they are doing 2000 retro teams because they already have next gen scans for many of the players. Which makes me even more worried on them not differentiating younger vs older players.

Then again they have a Jordan special edition cover (lol at anyone who buys this). So who knows.

Seems like they just focus on the my player my park modes nowadays. Things I personally don't care about unfortunately.

I thought every vintage player looked and moved generic last years game aside from Iverson. Tmac, Jordan, Vince, etc had no authentic feel just boosted ratings.

Vince had a beard still.......... That kind of says it all

I'm kinda thinking the same. Ronnie and LD2k keeping teasing this new announced mode that could be tied to Jordan and the retro teams. Initially when they announced the Jordan Limited edition preorder I got the impression there would be exclusive Jordan content. One can only hope.

not that this would ever happen. but What if...

What if 2K would allow you to modify current and past players faces, eyes, eyebrows, skin, morphing, hair color, anything you want. Give Jordan your own personal face lift! And I would fix Larry Bird's hair! PROBLEMS SOLVED! AND SHARE TO THEM TO THE ROSTER SHARE!

If they gave us the ability to scan photos of these legends and put them on a player model, similar to what the WWE 2K games allow you to do. As well as allow us to create any jersey and arena/court design (which looks to be in 2k16) and give us editable shorts length then almost all problems would be solved.

I would kill for the ability to edit shorts length. I like putting legends on current teams but they don't look right with longer shorts.

Shorts length is a HUGE issue!!! I always put the legends on the current day teams just to get jersey physics, but the over sized shorts look ridiculous, but it's either that or have the retro squads decked out in skin tight, lego brick uniforms with zero physics.

I agree changing the short lengths is something that has been needed in the game for a while.

I remember in 2K2 or one of the early games you could change the shorts length, not sure what year they took it out.

This is slightly off-topic but doesn't warrant a thread. I can't remember, but is the rookie Tim Duncan accurate?

Most classic players were 'accurate' up until MyTeam, when they started having to make a lot.

Unfortunately retro teams this year is one of the main reasons id want to even buy this installment, so I need to find out if the retros are accurate or not, otherwise that's a no-go for me.
