87 Kareem was past his prime, the 71 one should be the highest rated center in the game. Hope they got that sky hook,

Skyhook has been in still since NBA 2K12. Thankfully, they never removed the most effective shot in the post in NBA history. I'm happy Kareem is back on board, again. It was probably a money issue that held him back from staying, I don't believe he's apart of the retired players association like so many guys, and they were able to come to a agreement. The game didn't feel right without arguably the three greatest players ever (Jordan, Abdul-Jabbar and Chamberlain) all represented, IMO.

Excellent news. There are so many indications that they have actually paid attention to the retro side of the game this year. New teams, era specific play styles (Jordan Rules), an allegedly WAY deeper CAP tool, now Kareem back in the mix...

I am cautiously optimistic that we may finally have true next gen retro rosters.

I am cautiously optimistic that we may finally have true next gen retro rosters.

By era specific I hope you are not allowed to use hop step with older teams, because you know it's simply traveling...at least to an 80's guy like me lol.

A little off subject but seeing all the love they are giving classic teams I wonder if in the future they will bring back the atmosphere and presentation to match the certain decades like they had in 2k12. I know it would lead to probably having to play 80s vs. 80s or 90s vs. 90s type matchups, but I'm sure it would be a welcomed feature.

I've always wondered why this was included for exhibition or other modes. WWE 2K also had this feature. Maybe it's something they will include this year? You would think the option to use a different scorebug and filter would be easy to add in, but the immersion would be A++

Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to have Kareem on the Bucks and Lakers, but I'm going to stay cautiously optimistic until I see him sitting there on the roster next to Magic and Big O.

That's big. I can actually use the Showtime Lakers again. Also may indicate that legends got some attention this year.

I was dying to do a showtime Lakers vs Bird Celtics last year but it was just pointless without Kareem. Pumped that he is back.
