I don't think this confirms him at all since it is a my player card, but we'll see.

I agree and am not getting my hopes up. I'm probably wrong about this, but haven't they had players in the MyTeam area that weren't in the base game on a classic team?

Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to have Kareem on the Bucks and Lakers, but I'm going to stay cautiously optimistic until I see him sitting there on the roster next to Magic and Big O.

I'd be very, very surprised if Kareem Abdul-Jabbar were a MyTeam exclusive. I think the difference between Abdul-Jabbar and some of the other classic players who've been exclusive to MyTeam is the fact Abdul-Jabbar has two of his classic teams already included (I believe the 1971 Bucks and 1987 Lakers).

Meanwhile, guys like Rick Barry, Shawn Bradley, and Tracy McGrady were MyTeam exclusive because they did not have a corresponding classic team in the standard mode with which they could be a part. Now that the 2003 Mavericks and 2008 Rockets have been added, both Bradley and McGrady should appear both in MyTeam and standard play, just as I assume Abdul-Jabbar will.

this plus the card say 87. Which represents the year the card is based off of. Why wouldn't he be on the 87 lakers.

I can only imagine the carnage of his hook shot in myteam online games. Probably the only legendary player card i'd strive for if i'll play myteam actively.

This is great news! I love the showtime lakers my fav of all time and they were not the same without Jabbar and those crazy goggles. They could probably make a classic game it would sell more than current season. I loved the added players back in 12 some all time greats without teams. Love to have Bernard King he was a beast. And off topic a bit but wasn't Andrew Toney on those sixers with Malone and DrJ noticed he was missing. Very happy about Captain being added to lakers this is excellent.

Yep, Andrew Toney has been a sneaky omission all these years. Barkley gets the most attention for being gone from that '85 team but Toney's been absent right alongside.

Barkley has been consistent in saying that the best player he had the opportunity to play with in Philly was Andrew "The Boston Strangler" Toney. As a sixer fan I have noticed his absence.

Man i hope so. We all need some Kareem on those classic teams into our lives. Doesnt feel right playing without him with Magic or Oscar.

Yep, he's got two clubs, in fact: the 1972 Bucks and 1987 Lakers.

Hopefully that means we're close to having the ability to do this again:

I am happy that Kareem is back but damn a 94 overall for a season he put up 14.6 ppg and 6 reb playing 29 minutes? Everybody complaining that Kobe got a legacy bump, what do we call this lol ?

I don't understand why other legends refuse to sign on. Regardless what the compensation is, they are just turning down free money. The fans lose by not having them in the game and the former players lose with less $$$ in their wallets.
