they advertised the 04 Pistons and the 00 trailblazers being in the game


However, with sheed not being on those rosters, those teams aren't complete

they are misleading consumers

Sure I do. But it's not anyone's business why he said no. It IS the business of 2K to be honest about it if they're going to take people's money for their product.

What did they lie about?...The Classic team is in...Sheed isnt...he's not "the team"...They arent taking anyone's money...thats a CHOICE you have as a consumer to buy it or not..I gave a solution in a thread about getting rasheed in the game...you said you respected whatever personal reason he decided not to be in..fine..so what's the gripe??How did they lie again? Options are huge for replay ability. As long as some care has gone into the classic player models to make them correct to the year they represent, then it's essential content that enriches the game. Same as Euro League. Options are key. I'm grateful for the new inclusions and hopefully more next year.

I mean, if it weren't for a leaked screen we wouldn't know KAJ was back...we didn't know Dr J was back until he just popped up one day...neither had any fan fare because things can happen at any time with these players...good and bad

Yeah, I don't remember 2K ever formally announcing a specific player being in/omitted from a team before.

I'll put it this way: it's enough for a lawsuit. Certainly not saying anyone would ever take it that far, but legally, it's enough for a bait and switch claim, meaning it's a dishonest business practice. If someone sued, they'd win.

It's reasonable to assume that announcing the 2004 Pistons are in the game without naming names that consumers will be led to believe the big names associated with that team will be included.

Again, I'm not saying anyone will ever sue 2K over rasheed Wallace, but it's a dishonest business practice no matter how you want to defend it.

well they didn't say all teams would have every player. they just said the team, they didn't say...so and so is in the game..not sure it would fly. but again, I'm just more here for the discussions. I am not a huge classic team person.

All this legal nonsense is ridiculous but I will say as a lifelong Blazer fan, Rasheed was my favorite player on that team and when I heard they were in, he was the first guy I thought of. I won't go as far as to say they shouldn't even be there without him but I can understand that line of thinking. It's a really unfortunate omission. I'm hoping he will get added sometime during the season.

Sheed and half the 04 Pistons.
Raef LaFrentz.
Quentin Richardson.
Brian Grant.

In terms of marketing; it's not being completely honest.

But people will have great CAPS within 24 hours.

So are you saying you'd rather have no Pistons team, instead of one with a created Rasheed on it? Because those are your two options right now.

I mean really the only option anyone has is getting the Pistons team without Sheed period lol.

Is it wrong to have an opinion where I think it kills immersion by having an ugly created version of him on the team? And you have to sit there and edit all of his stats, tendencies, etc...

for some reason I can't do that. Even if the created player is good, in the back of my mind i know it's not real or legit, and it just bothers me. that's why I could never use a custom barkley.

I respect that. We're at different ends of the spectrum on that but no worries. I feel where you're coming from, I just have to make myself believe with those created guys, haha.

So my question is instead of venting here why not take to social media and @ rasheed and ask him to get in the game?

There's a huge thread last year asking 2k to if anything, to just give us some classic teams based off people who are already in the game....

They looked out and brought us something...it's an imperfect system where **** happens. True words. I think I've already said it four times by now but I'm really bummed about the gutted Pistons roster. That said, I'll take it over nothing. Having four of those five starters and hopefully a legit court will be a great start, and players can always be added in the future (which 2K has shown they're willing to do).

Oh I know about the role players, but this isn't about them since most could care less about them. It's about the names people remember mostly and the top part of the rotation is pretty much there outside of Sheed. If Sheed was in, this thread wouldn't even be here. Of course a student of the game is gonna know and remember Okur, Sura, Atkins, etc. but most aren't gonna moan about them not being there as opposed to Sheed, that's all I'm saying.

I feel ya, no worries there. I was just addressing the prior assertion that the team currently included represents the pre-deadline Pistons that year. I was saying even then, the pre-deadline team would be missing just as many starters (Okur) and possibly more rotation players (Sura, Atkins, Williamson, Rebraca) than the post-deadline squad. So of the included players, the team is really shorthanded from any angle we look.

I feel ya. I did some reading about Scottie Pippen's initial exclusion in 2K13 and it turns out it may have been Pippen's wife that ultimately convinced him to sign on after his exclusion went viral on social media. So perhaps friends and family could give Rasheed a nudge in the right direction.

That said, when considering reasons players do or do not allow their likenesses to be used, it may be worth noting the odds with which Wallace sometimes found himself with the NBA through the years. It was a while ago, but he made some really controversial comments about the league and its owners back in the early 2000's. He could have moved on from all that stuff or maybe he still has some unfavorable notions about the league that make him hesitate about doling out his likeness for the league's gain.

Or it could just be about the money.
