Re: Official: Get Rasheed in The Game Thread!
You flat out claimed 2k wasn't promoting classic teams which was completely ludicrousComment

(small interesting history tidbit)
For those that don't know, the 2004 Pistons that are in the game are actually really the 2004 Detroit Pistons up until the trade deadline. The Pistons traded for him at the last minute acquiring him from the Hawks after he played 1 game with them after being traded from the Blazers.Comment

Re: Official: Get Rasheed in The Game Thread!
I think the confusion is the distinction between promoting and marketing. From a promoting standpoint using Twitter (aka social media=word of mouth) then yes they promoted these classic squads by releasing two new ones each Thursday (they never guaranteed every big player was on these teams though). However, they haven't marketed these squads on the national level like they have with modes and details about the game.

You and I know that but the championship squad had the Wallace boys doing their thingComment

Re: Official: Get Rasheed in The Game Thread!
How does having Bulls Jordan on the cover have anything to do with the addition of classic teams that aren't even from the same decade as when Jordan was on the Bulls? If they wanted to promote the new classic teams with a cover wouldn't they use someone that is actually on the roster of one of these new teams?
Never once did 2k grantee that every player on the classic rosters will be in the game. In fact anyone who played 2k11-2k15 and used classic teams should have been full aware that not every player makes it in the game. Look at Kareem he was in 2k11 and 2k12 then all the sudden he was removed from the game (I believe 13 was the first year he was removed).
Finally, someone else said it!

So I mean it nicely (and not as an "I gotcha" type of thing) but it's not really a post-deadline roster and it's not really a pre-deadline roster either. They're both equally begging.
Still, as I've said throughout, I can work with it. Assuming the court art is mostly right, I'll take 7 players from that squad over none at all.Comment

Snarky replies, or insulting someone by calling them an idiot. Wonder which is worse?
Anywho, I'm done with this conversation. This guy loves his Rasheed Wallace, and 2K is pure evil for not including him even after they promoted the team. Whatevs, do your thing bro.

Definition of Promotion - Promotion keeps the product in the minds of the customer and helps stimulate demand for the product. Promotion involves ongoing advertising and publicity (mention in the press). The ongoing activities of advertising, sales and public relations are often considered aspects of promotions.
AKA, Ronnie 2k
Defintion of Marketing - Marketing is the wide range of activities involved in making sure that you're continuing to meet the needs of your customers and getting value in return. Marketing is usually focused on one product or service. Thus, a marketing plan for one product might be very different than that for another product. Marketing activities include "inbound marketing," such as market research to find out, for example, what groups of potential customers exist, what their needs are, which of those needs you can meet, how you should meet them, etc. Inbound marketing also includes analyzing the competition, positioning your new product or service (finding your market niche), and pricing your products and services. "Outbound marketing" includes promoting a product through continued advertising, promotions, public relations and sales.
AKA Ronnie 2k
You can try to twist it into some odd semantics battle, but you'd still be wrong as the way a product is promoted is still encompassed in its marketing strategy.
So yea, 2k has been promoting classic teams and classic teams are part of the game's marketing strategy as well.
No matter what you say, it was still pretty disingenuous of 2k not to mention that Sheed wasn't on the Trailblazers or the Pistons. Why not have Ronnie 2k announce that Sheed isn't in the game? Shouldn't be too hard.
Would you be annoyed if 2k said the 1998 Bulls were in the game but they didn't include Jordan or Pippen? Yea, you would. Because those teams aren't the same without those two players.
I get them not mentioning the absence lesser known role players, but Sheed is one of the key cogs on both of those teams and unfortunately, those teams won't be used very much with him (at least by me they won't).Comment

Plus no Corliss Williamson or Mike James.
I was kind of figuring guys like Darvin Ham to miss the cut. And I know Mike James was/is still toiling around in the D-League somewhere so that could complicate matters, but I'm surprised Okur, Williamson, and Wallace are all gone.
Okur was on 2k11 too.Comment

Being snarky gets on people's nerves.
An idiot is someone who doesn't know something and you evidently did not know what promoting was.Comment

Lmao snarky? Hahaha okay man.
Well hey guess what, you get on my nerves, but do I resort to name calling? Nah, I'm not 12
Oh and trust me, I know what promoting is buddy. Just because I'm not a social media fiend who's stalking Ronnies Twitter everyday, I didn't see what he was promoting on there.
I was reporting on what I saw for myself. You take this stuff way too seriously and need to get a real grip
