I'm going to take all of the classic players, drop them into free agency and start a MyLeague with a fantasy draft. It's a nice change of pace from the usual MyLeague mode as every team will have several good, if not great, players on their team.

Usually I make this as a secondary MyLeague that I only play when I want to play something a little different, but with all of the great classic players 2K has added, it will probably end up being my main MyLeague this year.

I'll probably take LeBron and see what I can get from there, but my idea is to surround him with Kyrie, Battier and Big Z, three of my favorite players ever, in addition to a bunch of shooters from both classic and current teams.

The addition of historic teams really gave 2K the change it needed to keep it fresh.

Almost exclusively.

Don't much like current day NBA, so due to the much talked about state of classic player visuals in terms of uniforms, I trade them all to current days teams just to get some jersey physics going.

Quick match or season play with legends only. Don't touch any other mode 2k has to offer. Simply not interested in the game outside of the legends aspect, that includes all online play too.

Me and a friend use them to put all the classic players into a fantasy draft and then using classic teams when we play so you get the old jerseys and courts.

Occasionally i like to take it back a little, but I've mainly used them on two fronts when I do.

Playing the game from the low block out since there were way more post scorers from the historic teams, compared to the range game of today. The league has removed the word "Center" from the all star game, which unfortunately states the trend of the league.

Secondly when playing offline battles with friends, as we pit teams from the same time frame against each other. Adjusting your game to SWOT of the era's talent pool.

I play mostly with historic rosters, but my own, not 2K's. Their level of polish with historic teams this gen has been lackluster so far.

I have never used them but I do use plays from their playbooks. Some of the plays are simpler but more importantly quick, so you can go through a few in one shot clock if the first play does not give you the shot you want.

I do a legends-current day roster with them for a MyLeague every year.

It's pretty fun because you can get some really unique rosters that I'm always curious how they will mesh.

For example, the Pistons will have:

PG. Isaiah Thomas
SG. Joe Dumars
SF: Richard Hamilton
PF: Ben Wallace
C: Andre Drummond

Sixth Man: Chauncey Billups.

I am really curious how Wallace and Drummond will mesh.

they wont, the fist fights over boards will be legendary.



I love the classic teams, but in the past i never used them as much as i would have liked because of the exaggerated ratings. Such a big discrepancy between the stats and the ratings earned was disengaging. Plus friends would act as if im cheating when i picked a team that had John Starks as 90 rated 3pt shooter.

I use the the old Hornets team sometimes but that's it. I'm not really into the old teams. i see them as old and/boring but that's just me

Almost EXCLUSIVELY.

I was going to pass on 2k this year due to growing tired of gameplay but once they announced 2000 Raptors, Suns, and a couple others I had to pre order.

I use them vs friends, seasons, myteam anything. I got back into the series becsuse 11's use of them best idea theyve ever had!

Unfortunately I cancelled my pre order due to lack of authenticity put into these retro teams (what's the point of having them if inaccurate?). I will just have to wait to see if they fix them up at all or if they play right a la 2k11/12.

WOULD LOVE TO USE THEM ONLINE. at least give us some lobbies to play simple harmless quick matches with...

I use historic teams all the time! I love schooling people with the older teams, especially when they talk about how some current player is the greatest at this or that. I vividly remember playing with Rodman and my friend was going crazy over his hair and how he's never seen that before. Sadly, this guy is an assistant bball coach =/

I'm not sure if I would buy 2K if historic teams weren't in. At the very least, it would just be another day on Friday.

Not so this year, this Friday is the day I get to fly above the rim with Carter and T-Mac on the same team. I get to pit Shaq & Penny (my fav team) against Kareem & Magic. I'm goin run & gun with a young Nash and hit Dirk for a J or throw a no-looker to Amare. I'm definitely goin throw a MVP Garnett into myleague! See how a young Wade does against the big three of 08 BOS. How will T-Mac & Yao's Rockets go up against West & Wilt's squad whom they were chasing for most consecutive wins?

Man, I cannot wait!!!

Basically never. MyCareer and MyTeam get about 99% of my playtime and last until the next game releases.

Yep same here. I almost exclusively play with just historic teams. Mostly quick matches and season play too but online with friends, brother, or cousins only. However, I really hate the generic players on the historic teams and in the past I would create the missing players and get rid of the generics but I havent done that since 2k12(I skipped 2k14 and just recently got 2k15 only because it came with the used xbox one I bought). Man I loved 2k11 and 2k12 and loved Portland Blazers custom rosters. All the classic players we had in the legends showcase dlc and how we were able to find a way to put them on teams black arms and all. Im excited that 2k added some more historic teams this year and I hope they keep em coming. When Madden stopped including historic super bowl teams I stopped buying(I know theres was legal issues with that though) and if 2k ever decides to get rid of historic teams then I will no longer buy the game.

Man I used to create 3-4 historic teams on my own. Just 5-6 players a team before 2k added historic teams. I played a lot w historic teams on last gen. The tv filters and swipes they added were amazing, I'm still upset they removed em. But with updated graphics on the newer consoles, the only teams that don't look ridiculous are 2000s and maybe late 90s teams. The older teams w their generic shoes and just overall ugly designs keep me from using them.

People will use them, if they look and feel right. Just look at fight night.. Everyone uses classic fighters. I hate to say this, but if 2k were to actually give us detailed classic players,shoes, tv filters etc. Instead of just phoning it in... I would pay for that DLC. And please let us use them online. That blows my mind why we can't use them on non ranked
