Also note that there are only 55 upgrades available out of the gate. 2k15 had 80 to start with and 100 total available.

Pure speculation here, but my guess is that you get additional upgrades through playing games, but you can unlock them faster through practice. If so, this would mean that 1) practice does not upgrade attributes, but unlocks additional slots to spend attributes on, and 2) the caps we see are hard caps that you can only upgrade with boosts and equipment.

Its 75 he had the cap to the max so it was 20 taken away lol I did the samething.

Kevin Durant is a 38% career three point shooter. I am guessing that if you make a 6'11" PF with maxed shooting at 75 and you avoid taking heavily contested shots, you can probably shoot 40% or higher with the rating caps in place, even on HOF sim. If the caps were higher, then the sim starts to go away.

Height is a big advantage in the game. Lower ratings help balance that out.

Add 5 across the board for purchasable boosts. I also assume you can still buy gear with attribute boosts, possibly including shoes with boosts again. All of those caps sound perfectly reasonable.

2K16 (with caps) - "I can't be a 7ft 3 point shooter".......

Look, it's a lot different, yes. People are used to being able to do whatever they want, with whatever height they feel like being.
But online, everyone was a 7' small forward who shot lights out and could cross better than any guard in the league...while playing defense...while being faster than Ty Lawson...

It's the new direction of gaming, a lot more people play online than offline. So if you hate you can't be a 99 overall god because you don't even touch online; it sucks, I know, sorry...but that's not the direction they're driving this mode.

Even as far back as 10 and 11 a lot of people that were heavy into My Career did it to get better for Crew or pickup games. Without balance the whole online aspect is ruined. See above for details lol.

Can you adjust wingspan? Are there body types? or just height and weight...

There's wingspan,shoulder length, height, weight and body length. It's more customizable than ever before in terms of length.

The caps are by position and scoring style. Depending on what you spend VC on, your player will be labeled differently in-game (defensive specialist, rebounder, shooting specialist, etc.) Specialties exist, but not at player creation.
