What Console are you using:

What is happening:
The game installs, but when I try and download the 2.2 GB update, it just stops at 67% and says 'Installation Stopped.' When I try and continue the update, I receive the same message.

Is there an error code:
I think there is, I'll post it in a minute.

Any further details that may help the devs:
I have installed the physical copy, it is not digital. Before I chose to update it, I could access the full game, I just couldn't go online. When I try to play the game during the update when it is stopped at 67%, it only lets me play as Warriors and Cavs, and says that the game is 98% installed, even though it was 100% installed before the update.

People over at NBA 2K reddit are having the same problem.

Same here on digital Xbox 1. At 9 pm ET it said 44 GB now it says 102 MB smh. Tried hard reset. Gonna try clearing system cache now.

Edit: Didn't help.

Same thing was happening to me. Got a hold of 2k support, your going to have to uninstall and reinstall the game.

Apparently since I do t have auto updates turned on, and bc I downloaded the game before 9/21, I got an older version of the game that won't start up.

Gotta love 2k.

have been stuck in copying game mode for the last 2 hours and it is only at 38%. I have tried closing the game app and restarting the PS4 but it still did not help.

No error code just very very slow in copying the game to my PS4.




Any other suggestions?

that is rough bruh...i bought the game at 12pm today at the playstation store online and thought i had to wait til midnight to download. The game should auto download upon purchase. Just saying.

What Console are you using - PC


What is happening - Got the error "Missing Executable" from steam, ran the “Verify integrity of game cache” and then found 1 file missing. After that it requires a small 23.8MB update which auto cancels itself upon finish.


Is there an error code - No.

This is one of the weirdest thing ive seen, anyone got an idea to fix?

To anyone who is having the installation stopped error on Xbox one. Changing your DJs server address to 8.8.8.8 should fix the problem and get you past the percent you are stuck at. 8.8.8.8 is a free Google dns

Almost 7 hours now and it's still only at 75% of copying the game... this is bull. (PS4)

Edit:: 8 hours now and it is STUCK on 80%

I have literally the same exact problem. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, hard reset, whipe all save files, change locations, reset my router, cleared more space on hard drive. Every suggestion I could find and I get the same exact result every time. I can install the game fine, but when you are forced to update it gets to 67% and then you get the installation stopped message.
I am so ****ing pissed about this, been so amped for this game for months, the day finally comes and I can't play it cause of a ****ing update. **** your microsoft. Should've got a PlayStation

And I read back a page and finally my prayers where answered!!!

Go to settings, network, advanced, DNS, set to manual, and then try any free DNS server until it works. No need to uninstall and reinstall.

i have a question can anyone help me here i bought the game from the US ps store but i play on my main account thats from europe do i have to play on the us account to get the 10.000 vc iam supposed to get because i pre-ordered or wil i get it transfered on my main account ?
