Almost every good RFA signs with his team after his rookie contract is up in real life. Or the team matches in the rare occasion of an offer from another team. The players are going for the dollars in most cases (not playing out the last contract year of the rookie contract) and the the teams match because a good young player is an asset.

It is not realistic, that many good young players are leaving there teams after three contract years. It was this way in 2k15 and seems to be like that this year as well. The devs should really look into that because as it is now it is way too easy to get good young players.

Are you seeing this issue for MyGM mode? Or My League? Or both? In my My GM mode, I see Andre Drummond re-signing with Detroit and I saw Bradley Beal Re-Signing with Wizards. I don't see news regarding Andrew Wiggins yet.

I'm in the offseason with them right now after simming & rebranding them as the NY Yankees. I know, I know haha but I have no idea what moves to make. I have cap space but no top tier free agents are available. Durant resigned after winning a ring, Conley resigned, & nobody else on the market is eye popping other than Whiteside. I know Heat will likely do their best to keep him but I may nab him & move Lopez. I just don't know haha Jennings is available also.

Jennings I like a lot -- not quite as good as he thinks, but pretty good. If you can move Lopez (and his god-awful contract), I'd go after Whiteside and Jennings -- both are still youngish and can be valuable contributors.

That said, neither would be a great fit for the Triangle offense and seeing Melo + Jennings + Whiteside might be the final straw to a Knicks (Yankees) fanbase that has watched its ownership go after big names and settle for less for many many years.

The East stinks anyway, so you'll be a playoff team with Melo, Jennings, and Whiteside, but if you're looking for a title, there's no one there that's going to win you that.

Build through the draft, trade Melo if you can, reset and get a good squad in 2 seasons, minimal, IMO.

Ideally, I'm trying to target a young SG (Bradley Beal). I would like to have a core of Melo, Beal, KP, and Grant for a couple of years (Until Melo retires). I just need to figure a way to get Beal onto the Knicks. No draft pick in 2016 so that really sucks.

Thanks for the feedback. I feel the same way about Jennings. That would definitely be a playoff team in the East & that's surely something I want to do. I though of trading Melo but wasn't sure if I would get back enough in return to indeed make the playoffs. I have no problem missing the playoffs if I'm not playing well but don't want to miss it by default by having a lackluster roster.

Its one of the weaker free agencies in recent time so I'll either pull the trigger on Jennings & Whiteside or pickup players that will contribute to a rebuild after moving Melo.

Update: Just my luck, the Wizards managed to resign him lol Looks like he won't be hitting Free Agency....they do have him on their trading block though.....

Now I gotta find a way to trade for him sigh. They don't want any of my current players. I'm kind of lost on how I can get him on my roster now lol

On a side note, I trade for Willie Caulie-Stein. Maybe he can be a trading chip if he develops.

I did a quick test and I was only able to get Beal by trading thrm three 1st rd picks, two 2nd rd picks, and Porzingis. So u may have to include him if u want Beal. They kept telling me they wouldn't trade a valuable assest like Beal without getting one in return.

Since Knicks dont have their first rd pick this year they dont have many assests outside of Melo and Porzingis.

Gobert isn't horribly far-fetched (the Sixers have a ton of draft picks they could bribe anyone with in the League for anybody who isn't a superstar).

Kobe back to Philly, though? Philly might be closer than the Lakers to a title, but Kobe IS LA and he knows it. He wouldn't leave and the Lakers wouldn't let him.

MyGM is the place where all GMs except you are Billy King, and let dumb things happen to their team, lol.

Yeah, MyLeague is the only way to avoid Billy King boneheaded GM moves happening too often for CPU teams.

Any tips on how to run a full control 30 team MyLeague that has worked well for you? Do you try to sign FA for all teams and your main squad as well?

I'm going to lower trade frequency and require my approval but not sure how to handle FA.

True but to make that trade while still having all their big man? Yea I just seen Kobe say he's Lakers for life basically. I guess sometimes you can get lucky. I simmed one season and everything went well

I'm going to lower trade frequency and require my approval but not sure how to handle FA.

I let the CPU sign their own free agents unless they have players like Bradley Beal, then I'll jump in & make sure he's resigned at the amount he should be paid. I lowered trade frequency as well.

The thing with the CPU signing their own free agents is that even if they make a bad signing you can always go and trade that player to a more reasonable team.

I'm trying my hardest to tough it out with a MyGm season & not pay attention too much to what's going on outside of my team but I don't know. Some moves by the CPU are too outlandish.

Generally speaking, I make decisions for all teams when it comes time to draft and sign free agents. In the past 2Ks I've had to do this in order to ensure a properly functioning league (and avoid a Suns like scenario of three point guards competing for playing time for one spot). The CPU just doesn't have the brains when it comes to evaluating talent that's not on its team -- I've seen players like Kevin Love sign back with Minnesota after leaving ... because he missed it I guess?

Now, that said, I've yet to fully test out the capabilities of the CPU in this game. They're still Billy King when it comes to being GMs, so that's for me to do -- I currently have it set up to where the CPU does all free agent signings and trades (with my approval, of course) in-season, and I'll probably remain in control during the offseason; I'll do a quick sim into the future and see where things stand after the offseason, but I anticipate the CPU will still suck at being a GM.

What Insight23 is valid, though, you can trade away the free agent signings/draft picks that just don't make sense, but I've always found that cumbersome (especially with financial rules on, which I assume everyone has) -- making salaries match and such without trading away key role players is always an issue, plus it's just faster to do the draft/FA yourself.

Sure, technically, it's you deciding where everyone goes and giving the computer little agency to do anything off the court, but the challenge of this mode is having all that power and not abusing it -- you need to account for the best interest of every team in a 30 team control league, so if a Kevin Love hits the market you can decide what teams should offer him and what teams (like Minnie) should stay away: if there's one place you want/need a player to go, you can make it happen this way as well and not have to worry about the CPU mucking things up.

I'm an obsessive micro-managing control freak, however, so don't take my opinions as gospel.

Just noticed the "vickdamonejr" name hahaha @Trek I'm somewhat a control freak as well when it comes to this game but as you said you have to make sure you don't abuse your power. I like being surprised by what the computer does at times, when its good. It does take lots of time to make trades and get everything back in order tho.

I really really like the rebrand I did with the Knicks (Yankees) & I'm contemplating on trying to get Kobe back to the Lakers via trade so I can keep it on a roll. I probably could just do the rebrand over & maybe I will but I'm just loving what I have right now.

what is the difference between myleague and mygm? Is there any features that are in myleague that are not in Mygm and vice versa? which mode do you recommend?
