the more i play the more i love this game.
knowing that they will fix the minor issues
leads me to agree that this should likely
receive sports game of the year if not
game of the year for the improvements
and praise with the only detractor being
that some dislike "livin' da dream" and
others can't be satisfied no matter what.
i'm most likely biased as a long time 2k
fan but this game deserves awards.

I love this game but free throws are like broken for me. I know I need more work with getting each player's timing down for the release, but I'm fine with regular jump shots and 3's- free throws should not be infinitely harder to make than regular jump shots, yet they are for me. This is with free throw difficulty turned all the way down to zero also. I briefly tried switching to real player %, but it seems for free throws a good deal of that is user timing as well so it didn't help much. May go back to it but I prefer using user timing. The difficulty of free throws is just too high right now though compared to regular jump shots.

It would also be helpful if there were a practice option just for free throws. Most players have vastly different release/timing mechanisms for their FT's, and considering how sensitive that seems to be right now to get that right in terms of actually making the shot, it would be nice to practice free throws somewhere to get everyone's timing down.

EDIT: I just found out that I think the difficulty scale for free throws is backwards. I turned it up to 100 and it's a lot more forgiving if you don't have perfect timing. Made four in a row just now with Howard and Jones, who are obviously both not good FT shooters. I thought in past games 100 would've been the hardest for that setting, but maybe I'm remembering wrong

Now that I am getting used to the controls, this game is really growing on me.

I have nothing but good things to say about this year's game. But, Vince Carter and Tracy Mcgrady's faces are really bad, I don't understand how that got by the art team. Old Vince looks fine, How did they mess that up that badly, just puzzling.

Hope I can download some better faces in the future, with that being said, I'm really surprised, how deep sone of the classic teams are. They got Walt Williams, Ex, Lafrentz, Bradley, Adrian Griffin, on the Mavs team, Pretty awesome.

This is the best 2k i've ever played. Hands down.

Sure i may get pissed as **** when i miss a wide open 3 to win the game..but dang, what a fun game.

FINALLY,ITS FUN TO USE BIG GUYS ON THIS GAME.

Best first experience I have with a new 2k game EVER! WOW 2k really nailed it this year.
I love how if your are on a comeback and you connect with an alley oop, the camera pans waaaay back so that you see the whole crowd cheering!
And How near the end of the game I had free throws with Lebron the whole crowd stood up and started chanting MVP MVP MVP!!
MAN I LOVE THIS GAME!

Went ahead and picked up the game. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh I'm so unbelievably ecstatic about the addition of RANKED play now matches.

I feel like YELLING!

For the last 10 years, I've been so disappointed in the lack of ranking or meaning in play now online games, and FINALLY, FIIIIINALLY, we get it back! Now, I know there's no individual leaderboards (or, if there is, please direct me), but this is the first semblance of any ranked online games (not counting My Player/Career or any of the other bells and whistles) since NBA 2K6 (?) had leaderboards and lobbies, I believe? Or 2K5. But I'm thinking 2K6.

Anyhow, I love how the '04-'05 Suns actually play like the '04-'05 Suns! Nash to Stoudemire was a beautiful 1-2 punch in the game I played vs. them.

It's a shame 2K couldn't get Rasheed Wallace on board. It's awkward seeing Darko in his place in that otherwise awesome '03-'04 Pistons starting five.

Love the game. Just wish they could fix the following issues. Still can't hit open shots... well I do but the obvious ones miss quite a bit. Anybody else have this problem?

Anybody know when a patch is coming?

My issues:

Defense is overpowered. Players like Jamal Crawford, Lou Wiliams, Ramon Sessions and pretty much every single player can deny ball handlers. KD and LBJ can't even get passed even if they hit a crossover... the defense magically denies each and every time.

Substitution. Very time consuming. Don't fix what's not broken. Takes your eyes off the game. Even though i'm getting used to it now, it's much more faster and efficient with 2k14 and 15's sub controls and menu.

PlayNowOnline. You can't see what team your opponent is choosing. Not bc i want to have some advantage, but if you choose the same team as your opponent, you can't exit out of it. You're forced to play them. So what I do is just restart the console. smh.

Also, you end up playing someone who uses the same colored jersey as you. Very frustrating.

Camera. Camara will suddenly go back to broadcast view when you already set it to 2k.

Just a few issues that I want addressed. Hopefully it does. I love the game though. If i could give it a rating, I would give a solid 9.3 out of 10. Last years for me was a good 9 out of 10.

Playing MC, it is a great addition rolling from HS to college. My only gripe is why isnt the national championship played at a neutral site? All NBA arenas in the game and winning the NC is played at a home site?

2K puts together a great story mode and sucks the air out if the experience by basically providing a lame NC experience. Winning the NC should at least feel like an accomplishment.

I know it is a small part but if a developer is going to include it at least keep it immersive.

I thought the same thing Eski. Given the in game court editor they have I would think they would have taken the time to create a court for that specific purpose..They crammed so much content in this game they had to cut corners somewhere..

Didn't like the game at first, was upset about perimeter defense and felt like the jump shot game was ruined. However, now that I'm past the learning curve everything is flowing beautifully. Best gameplay ever in a basketball game. The graphics took a significant leap as well.

Shooting is very difficult still. Anybody rising up the league ranks? I'm in College league. Pretty difficult. Love how the competition is the same as your skill.

Loving the game...biggest disappointment is the lack of crowd noise at appropriate times. Played Suns (CPU) @ Warriors (me) it went to OT and was tied with 1:00 left when I got an "and 1" with Curry then 2 straight transition 3's from Klay and if anything when the ball went in the crowd got quieter. That and the fans just sat there. I was so pumped but that just made things meh. As a Warrior fan I know how loud Oracle gets so this was a downer considering the situation...
