Some of these ratings prove that the 2k team doesn't watch/play basketball

How does an entire staff overlook ratings like:

2004-2005 Steve Nash having a B+ rating as a defender. His defensive attributes match up with guys like Chris Paul, Avery Bradley, and Russell Westbrook. What makes this so comical is the fact that 2002-2003 Steve Nash had a 65 on ball defensive rating.

So somehow Nash was 2 years older, playing for a worse defensive team, and his defensive rating jumped by 19 points. Yall need to put his defense back at 65 where it belongs.

Shawn Kemp has a 60 midrange jumper rating. They gave Richard Hamilton an 89 3 point rating despite shooting 24 percent from 3

They gave Pierre Jackson a 25 dunk rating and a 60 vertical

Hakeem Olajuwon has a 73 midrange jumpers. Compare that to some of these other big mens ratings and explain how that makes sense.

I could give examples for days

If you're too lazy to do accurate ratings then hire someone who knows what they're talking about.

I think overall the ratings are fine. Some of the potential ratings really blew me away. Shabazz Muhammad at 75, Andrew Wiggins at 86, and Zach Lavine. All are at least like 7 too low.

I don't disagree with you. Jeff Teague literally does not dunk on these default rosters, it's kinda ridiculous.

I will say though that Richard Hamilton did have like a 90 three point rating in NBA 2K7 because he shot like %50 from three on 80 total attempts the year prior or something lol

I don’t think the ratings are bad, but the examples you brought up are on point. I could have sworn that as the year progressed last year, they kept tweaking ratings and it got better…even with the classics. I think they had Petrovic with a low rating and a pretty poor potential but he seemed to get a boost at some point last year.

Harden had an A in perimeter defense. That's when I decided not to look deeply into them and just play

Nobody in the world is 100% unbiased. Meaning that a 2k employee in charge of ratings is likely to be biased toward some of his personal favorite players, pampering them with some rating boost love!!!

Harden does have the capability of playing A type defense as far speed and athleticism.. What harden lacks is his defensive iq, his willingness to play defense

Harden defensive iq and awareness are probably sub par but everything else that make great defense should be there

I don't recall ever seeing any classics changed after release. I knew they did a half-hearted job when it was shown a 39 year old Kareem was 94

Not surprised with Nash. Call it their MVP legacy bump I guess. Rip with an 89 3 makes me facepalm.

Jason smith 85 vert. Higher than Aaron Gordon and hezonja.

This will probably be locked because of the inflammatory title among other reasons, but I do feel like every player isn't researched and evaluated equally. Also despite the new hall of fame scale, there are still, in my opinion, many ratings given to manipulate the OVR.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

What about LeBron being a ridiculously underrated rebounder? Averaged more than either team in the finals and consistently gives you 10+ in playoff games. Everyone else gets a boost/downgrade for their playoff performances why not LeBron?

Also his passing isn't up to par with guys of his caliber. I mean as a forward he's all time great no? And by today's league up to par with most guards, if not better, no? Curry's are through the roof, that's ironic.

Jordan's post retirement defensive ratings are too high. And his 3 point shooting for 96 is WAY too high. His percentages were good that year because they shortened they line, not because he magically had a couple elite seasons from 3 while the rest were pretty average.

2K definitely bolstered certain players at certain aspects to insure that their overalls were where they wanted them.

hopefully its like fifa where the potential rating is just the minimum rating they will reach.
                          LaVine has extremely high potential
not saying he will reach it but he shoukd still have a high rating

Also Heat LeBron should be the 2nd/3rd highest rated player in the game if they're actually using a hof scale
Still think thats BS though cause no way Curry is a 93 on a hof scale
and no way is 2000s Kobe as good as Heat LeBron

I agree with the lebron, many of the jordan years are overrated. Disagree with curry not being a 93 on HOF scale though. His year last year warrants it. The legends ratings in general though are really random and unrealistic.
