    Re: The Game as a Big Man - MyCareer

    I do have some issues with playvision in myCareer.

    I am playing on PC , All-Star/Sim, 12 Minutes quarters as a Center.
    Playvision is set on show all plays, and full and everything on auto.

    When I move to my position (the blue dots) most of the times, nothing happens. No player movement, no passing, no instruction for me to pick, run or anything.
    When moving to a teammate and setting a pick (without instruction) the set play resets and a new starting position is displayed.
    Very rarely it is working as intended.
    Freelance offence is not working as intended neither.

    Because I find very few complaints about this issue, I posted this in the big man thread to find out if it might be problem with the position C.

    Is it just me or is anyone else having this issue?

      I could score 2-4 PPG but as long as i'm grabbing every rebound and blocking shots all day long I am a happy man.

      So what this thread is telling me that this is very possible and will be lots of fun.

      My question is, I've never done a C over 7 feet tall. Mainly because I want good speed and athleticism and find that the 6'10 or 6'11 size gives me that. However, what's the pro's and con's of a 7'1 or 7'2 C versus the 6'10-6'11 size?
      In MyCareer, I don't really see enough effectiveness of a 7+ tall center over 6'10 or 6'11. That hit on speed is real and if you want to rebound with the best of them, you need to be able to move quickly. I love to dominate the glass, and usually, unless I'm boxed out far from the basket, no one grabs that board, but me.

      However, in 2K Pro-Am, being 7'1-7'2 matters, especially if your rebounding is maxed. I'm 6'11 max athlete with about 80 rating in rebound, and I can get get my 6-7 DREBS and 3-4 OREBS a game, but that means I need to have great position and always box out. That 7+ C would grab a couple over me just due to redone rim physics and long rebounds.

      If your focus is scoring, being tall helps lol. I pride myself on defense and held my guy to 2-7 from the field, but he made me work every time. And I have maxed defense and Post-Lock Down defender.

        Re: The Game as a Big Man - MyCareer

        I've never played big man before in mycareer but I started to actually try to get more engaged on offense and it opened my whole game up. In still on the bench but now im shooting about 80 percent and scoring 10+ in limited minutes.

        What you have to do is fight for position. Before I use to just go down and post up. Now I switch sides, come out the post sprint back in and try to force deep post position. You can also try to seal off your defender so they are behind you while your facing the basket for an easy dunk.

        If your not the 1st option your probably not going to get the ball unless your in perfect position. If you can shoot a jumpshot sometimes you want to dive straight into the post after bringing the ball up and other times you should trail if you see a slower defender waiting for you under the basket.

        Last tip, the skyhook is nasty it's unblockable, quick fairly easy to rebound from if it misses. Just set it up with a fake or 2.

          Love playing Center. No complaints so far. 7'3 330lb inside.
          What jump shots do u need when i can get 5+ offensive rebounds every park game. 18 park games and prob half double doubles. At least 2 block per game.

          In mycareer i play superstar casual and been player of week 3 weeks running in first season after free agency. Got a 5x5 3 games in a row running.

            Happy, you could also turn on the play diagrams to see where to go. You get ball more in right spot.

              I do but I'm on the heat so Bosh takes a lot of post looks. I usually fight for position around the blue circles they give you, where as before u would just run to the circle and post up waiting for the ball.

                    Thanks for the reply mate. I'm usually an offline gamer and haven't really got the skills to be truly good or effective in the online world. Although, the Pro-Am stuff kind of intrigues me, especially what I understand as being able to just join teams or leagues and make connections that way (unfortunately alot of my friends aren't gamers nor do they play 2K16).

                    Back to the topic though, I started my 6'11 254 Inside C last night. Seems to be going well, I've played 2 college games and putting up around 8points, 8 rebounds with 1-2 blocks a game. This suits me and I think once I start getting into the 20-30min range in the NBA I should be grabbing 10+ rebounds and a few blocks a game, which makes me happy.

                    I'm really thinking of restarting and looking into a 7'1 C though, just for the size difference and added wingspan. I like your comment about being able to move quicker and I think that is important, but being that Tree Rollins/Rob Parrish type hulk in the middle is alluring, especially being over 7 feet and swatting every shot I can!

                    I looked at the heights of all the listed starting centers from ESPN and came up with the following stats (bear in mind some of the listed PFs and Cs could be interchangeable. i.e. I went with Cousins listed as a C @ 6'11 rather than Cauley-Stein who is listed as the PF @ 7'0) The results are:

                    6'10 = 2
                    6'11 = 15
                    7'0 = 8
                    7'1 = 4
                    7-2 = 1

                    So 77% of starting NBA centers are either 6'11 or 7'0. With only 13% being at 7'1 and only Hibbert being the lone 7'2 starting C. With this in mind I think it's more realistic to have a 6'11 or 7'0 C, but could see the stretch of being a 7'1 guy too. Hence my reasons to either trial a 6'11 C or a 7'1 C.

                    Does anyone know the max cap differences between those 2 heights? I figure it would only be in speed/acc/vertical but not sure.

                      If you're not worried about the speed hit, I'd go 7+. Right now, I average 5 blocks in 32 games with a mix wing-span 6'11 C. Bear in mind, there are a few blocks that I could have had, but I was matched up with a quicker PF and my acceleration was not enough to stop his move to the basket, nor enough to risk moving that far outside of the paint. When Kawhi/Danny Green are sitting and their facing a superstar who is on fire, I'll be tasked to guard him for a number of possessions. Happens rarely, but when it does, it can get difficult - my perimeter defense is a B+ and I know who to sag off of and body up, but I just don't have the speed or lateral agility.

                      PFs can be a pain, if they can hit the mid-range. Anthony Davis is ridiculous to guard, but I'm sure if you're a 7+ Center, then you won't have to pull PF duty hopefully.

                      You can just stalk the paint and shut down the post game.

                        I'm 7'1 center and played PF in my 3rd or 4th NBA game.

                            Pro tip do not remove your under basket dunk packages. Otherwise you won't be able to standing dunk.

                              So after a few more days of practice and playing, Jarret Jack and I have become a little bit of a P&R tandem at times.

                              I'm now averaging 17PPG, 7RPG, 1.2APG, 2.4BPG

                                I couldnt believe it, dont remember this happening in 2k15. The mavs will have to roll out their third string pg the next couple of games
