Is J.R. Smith Always Going to be 2K Royalty?

This might be the best Earl to ever Earl in ANY 2k game. I mean, he's been great in pretty much every 2k that I can remember even with a low rating, but this year he is insane.

His size ups are insta blow byes, His dunks are crazy good, He plays great on ball defense, and his shot is extremely fast and easy to get good releases on.

Right now I'd rather play with JR Smith than Kyrie Irving. He's insane.

Really? Haven't played with or against him in 2k16. But in past 2k's he was unstoppable. lol. He would always give me fits in myplayer mode too. 2k Royalty for sure. LOL.

You need athleticism, you need the ability to shoot, you need the ability to have enough handle where you can get from point A to point B.

JR Smith can do ALL of those things, which is why anyone can dominate with him in a video game.

He has deep range
Good enough handle to create
Athletic

When you use him in the game, he no longer has the issue of having a low basketball IQ. You now control that.

So when people complain about JR SMith being a God in these games, what can 2K do about that?

cant blame 2k for this. blame JR for not living up to his potential. do you know how good JR could be if he had a head on his shoulders? and really cared about being great? he would be right there with dwade(prime). he's that good. he has serious hops, he's very quick. he has serious handles. he knows how to get separation with his dribble. he can catch and shoot off a screen. he can shoot off the dribble, and he has unlimited range. he's clutch. and i've seen him play some solid defense on kobe back in their days battling (nuggets vs lakers). oh by the way, he can pass well too.

when you play with JR. if you have a head on your shoulder. you are witnessing what he would look like with your mentality.

The truth is his unrealistic dunk rating and the nature of 2K animations are what have always made him so good.

Until 2K figures out that a guy who dunks on 2% of his shots IRL shouldn't have a stupid high dunk rating, you're going to have video game abuse (where it is easier to dunk than IRL).

Until 2K figures out that a guy who dunks on 2% of his shots IRL shouldn't have a stupid high dunk rating, you're going to have video game abuse (where it is easier to dunk than IRL).

We have been screaming this for YEARS. Him being in dunk contests clouds the judgement. I don't think dunk frequency is ever considered in the dunk rating.

I mean to be fair JR Smith is one of the best bench players in the NBA. On top of being a top athlete and a deadly shooter. He takes bad shots, makes bad choices but he's still a lethal NBA player at the guard. He's not Kobe or Wade but he's pretty nice. And doesn't really get injured a lot.

He is always good on 2k tho lol. Nothing they can really do as I think they rate the guy accurately.
