The problem is universal. Meaning it is advantageous for you when you are on offense so you didn't really "earn" those points and on defense it put you at a high disadvantage so it is a lose-lose for a sim experience .

No problem. You are correct. The player defensive AI is a non factor in this problem. I play as the grizzlies mostly so don't matter if the player is Tony Allen, LeBron, Z Bo etc they are preprogrammed to do that zone regardless of the situation even if it means they will leave a man they shouldn't. In most of the videos I posted there was no fastbreak opportunity until the defense actually created one

You should point out in the videos as well how long it takes the bigs to turn around and get back and the slow back peddling to get back.

2K: please DO NOT think 30 foot sailing out of bounds passes are the fix for this.

You are correct. But it is actually in some of those videos. I will go back and look. What Vinsanity is referring for those curious is the defense players react slower in transition with the back pedal and lateral shuffle. Sometime they do it because they focus on the ball handler who is covered instead of focusing on their man but most time they just move to slow in transition. They should Instead just turn and run up court like the offensive player do.

Here is another video to disprove the belief that off ball defenders doing dumb stuff is based on player defensive IQ and or cold/hot streaks. But to be honest when you watch this video this should never happen regardless of their defensive IQ. Somebody this dumb should not be on the court ever lol. Now let me say again for those just joining the thread and don't wanna read through that if this happened occasionally I would not be here complaining but off ball defenders leaving players happens too frequently especially in transition. So here you go ....

another video of a defender leaving his guy to seek out the ball handler that is covered by me and who is on the other side of the court in a half court setting.

Was gonna start a thread until i opened this

My strong gripe right now is the fastbreak vs users who let the cpu play D

I CANT GET ANY PASSES DOWN THE COURT WITHOUT IT BEING INTERCEPTED

Last guy i played had 15 steals none by him i know because i tried letting my CPU do its thing on a break and they took the ball away like it was nothing

And at the same time my passes are floating in slow motion allowing the defender to recover and cause a missed lay up

Even when i try a flashy pass which should trigger a bullet pass i get a floating ball and my player slows down

What im not understanding is the slow mo wasnt happening on his breaks until i let the CPU play Defense

Not quite understanding your frustration. If I understand you are saying that you are having problems when you try to initiate a fast break. I am saying the exact opposite so that's why I'm not quite understanding as your issue might not be what we are discussing. Not sure but you mentioning CPU players moving slower is part of the problem as off ball defenders get mesmerized by ball handler and go flat footed or leave their man. I have seen defenders completely turn their back on a defender on the strong side of the ball and square up and focus on the ball handler and the offensive player cut to the basket for an easy dunk. Again if was sporadic I could deal with it but it isn't.

At first, I thought transitions were nicely done. However, I think because I was just jaded by the fact I was listening to people complain about the touchdown passes. While, for online, that is probably a nightmare--I like the way it is.

However, once I stopped focusing on that and was in a few close games where transition buckets were important; I started to realize the flaws. Flaws that don't just penalize me, but the CPU as well. So it's not just something I am complaining about because I am getting beat as I also beat the CPU with the same flaws.

One thing in particular that drives me crazy is everyone crashing in the paint that causes a cluster of nonsense. Very immersive breaking.

Yes sir!! This is what I have been saying since day one . On transition defense I am getting points not because I have outsmarted the CPU but the CPU "gave" me the points which gives me no satisfaction as a sim guy as I like to earn my points. The flip side is when I am on defense and trying to stop 2-3 guys from leaving players open or switch to stop guys from being mesmerized by the ball handler and instead focus on THEIR defender. Unfortunately I can't control but one player at a time so I am fighting against my own players and the other team. Very frustrating

More videos. These below focus on 3 things. Players being mesmerized, defenses creating fast break that didn't exist, players ignoring their players and players leaving their players.

This one is more detail and contain numerous problems so this one video covers allot of the issues in one video and try to explain as if this the only video you have seen so it is about 4 minutes.

This is me on offense being "handed" points I didn't earn. Basically a fast break created by the defense

I completely agree with OP. Because of these issues its a track meet online. Ive had people fastbreak with one player against my 4 guys who are already back and score. Before anyone says im not doing the right things. I have limit transition on and i understand 3's with allow more fast breaks for the other team. I also switch to the farthest defender back immediately after a shot, but it does little to stop the nonsense

What's really disheartening is i dont think this can be patched well. they could bump up defensive awareness but that might take away too much from other parts of the game (example: it may cause more sliding over when beat by the offense)

Shayellis I have videos showing that what I now label "fastbreak caused by defense". My latest few videos I just posted focus on this aspect in detail. You are also correct that it is worst online because usually user always turbo in transition so they almost always will have guys open on the wing for an open shot or dunk. Or if you use your muscle memory and get lucky to stop fastbreak you will still be in a mismatch somewhere and if you even by chance hold off mismatch then offball defenders will potentially leave their man . Just so much going on that you honesty feel like it is 1vs 9 because I am not only watching the defense I have to now watch my own players being controlled by the mob in some point shaving scandal [emoji2] .

A comment made on that video is pretty much on point

This stuff is happening to force certain statistical averages between teams, players etc to match real life. The problem is, that it's unrealistic to force averages. Doesn't look like NBA basketball when you try and do this. Plus, 2K just likes to keep the games close at other times to make the game exciting for casual fans of basketball.
I've seen it happen on 2k15 and I know because I played it just today and it is the bane of my existence with their game. Always wants to make the user the only person to win the game which is fairly unrealistic in my opinion
