I enjoyed having it up in 15 but love having it off in 16 - go figure lol
FWIW, I strictly play My Career, and the new defensive mechanics of 16 have fit hand in glove for me 😃

But i noticed that they assist with making contact with the ball-handler and give me more bump animations. Like I never would've bumped Westbrook out of bounds like that when i had it set to 0 before.
From my testing it seems that with less defensive assist it makes your defender feel lighter. With higher defensive assist, he feels more weighted. Sometimes my defender felt too light and I would move him out of position easily which was hurting me.
Some may find a sweet spot somewhere beyond 0 but less than 50 or 100 - it's all about how much give and take you require.
As my my career player in 15 improved : I started to lessen to effect of defensive assist strength. In 16 I do feel very light at times but I enjoy it because the recovery system is also improved. I like the "feel" in this year's user defense - it's very much like how I would play in reality.
I imagine it will be a different experience for all of you depending on your difficulty sliders.

Yup. So i did some further testing and can confirm that higher defensive assist did give me more bumping and ride animations against the ballhandler. If you keep yourself in good position, the CPU assists from there.
They do not assist if you are not in good position though. You can still get blown by if you're out of position.

I just tested it online it works and definitely tones down the fast break cheese a bit, won with the Bobcats against clippers and won against the Grizzlies using the Timberwolves and was down 3 points against cavs using the pacers and the damn game dropped. Much propsComment

Keep in mind that if you have this at 100 and hold LT all the way down when some one is coming directly at you on a drive, you will likely get a flagrant, lolComment

Well not that i'm against of the idea putting on 100 but for me 0 is always to go.
You need to play to the Angles and have to know who to crowd and who to give Space etc. then i feel like my defense when executed right does great and when not it fell off which it should.
On defense what you really need to understand is No matter what, opponents will get some points but are those the way you wanna get beaten or not is the most important aspect of your defensive mentality.

Re: This is the secret to Lockdown On-Ball Defense this year. Put them in a cage.
I have DA at 0 offline and 50 online to account for delay...I played some last night with 0 and it was a mess...still won though, lol
I don't use LT online at all...in my experience it gets you too many cheap fouls and makes you sluggish...
DA does definitely help with what people call "fast break and turbo" cheese, I sometimes move it to around 75 if the user is trying to abuseComment

Re: This is the secret to Lockdown On-Ball Defense this year. Put them in a cage.
I'm testing 50 against the cpu...one issue I've always had with 2k in the past is that the defensive player you're controlling tend to have happy feet slight movement with the sticks and the player you control felt slippery.
Need to test more but defensively he didn't suffer from happy feet when doing the defensive stance.Comment
