Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
No, you're fabricating your story and you're challenging me on the wrong subject.
First it was 90, now it's 100.
Let's return to the beginning : why would a player have 10 wide open middys? Is your team not doing anything to kill his flow, his rythym? Are their skills simply not up to par?
I faced my share of demi god players in 15, in park and in rec, and many times I have disturbed their rhythm. Many times I have outscored these same demi gods, outplayed them.
In 16, your defense is more capable of disturbing the offenses numbers but you need to put the work in to get the results. Your story sounds like a plea for someone to bail you out of jail for crimes you feel you didn't commit but in reality : it seems your defense has many incriminating evidence and is at fault for many basketball sins lol
2k cannot save you here man, you and your team need to shape up. I would almost be appeased to hear you are running with players who are 70 overall and below so I can at least have sympathy for you in that respect.

These guys are the same people who cheesed the three-point line last year and got green releases almost everytime. That is why three-point shots got toned down to be more realistic. Now those same guys are doing the same thing for mid-range. Whatever makes you think you are "obligated" to make 10/10 wide-open jumpshots is troubling. It's an "arcade" style of play and not basketball.
A basketball game should have a flow of 3-point attempts, 2-point jumpshots, and a mix of layups and dunks. Right now, it's all skewed towards mid-range. Would you not agree?
Since you continue to think I'm talking about defense, I'll give out some percentages that would be realistic. Not making 90%+ of your mid-range jumpshots would be one of them.
Wide-open 2-point Jumpshot - 65%
Slightly Contested 2-point Jumpshot - 45%
Midly Contested 2-point Jumpshot - 25%
Strongly Contested 2-point Jumpshot - 10%
What it is now
Wide-open 2-point Jumpshot - 90%
Slightly Contested 2-point Jumpshot - 75%
Midly Contested 2-point Jumpshot - 35%
Strongly Contested 2-point Jumpshot - 10%Last edited by Jhawkfootball06; 10-07-2015, 03:17 PM.Comment

Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
Is the rim not more friendly to the elite shooter lol, even the rim has favorites but nobody is so elite that they can sink a shot without a rim...
The only reasonable tweak I see for imposing mire challenge is to challenge us with a more difficult shot meter that makes it more difficult to reach the center (maybe use Superstar OR HOF shooting sliders for Park and Pro Am). Even in this scenario however : open shots should make for easier timing and would again stretch onus on the defense to shape up and play the ball better.
Last and almost most importantly : badges can be countered by other badges! Put in the work and get you skills up, acquire your badges, and put together a team template for success.
Stress the shooter, put pressure on him and you will disturb his game.

Again, I will point out that I am talking about open jumpshots. You keep feeling the need to say defense, when all I am talking about is open jumpshots. You should not make 90%+ of open jumpshots, period. It's not realistic, it's arcade.

I haven't played since the update last night, but hopefully they did tone down the midrange just a little bit. I don't know how it is on ProAm because I have yet to play with anyone on the East coast so I don't know if midrange is cheesy there but you definitely see that on the Park/Stage.Comment

If your defense is not at fault then you should only be allowing 1 or 2 open shots a game and not a handful or two handfuls of open shots.
Blocking is way more successful in the game than in reality : those numbers are not on target to what NBA statistics reveal , neither are steals and turnovers. The on ball defense alone is also juiced up : so, the offense gets their treats and so does the defense.

Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
I've played a lot of Park/Stage/Rec last year (#1 Ranked for Flyers for 5 months) and I can say that this is pretty much true. The same people that shot a lot of 3s at the park/stage are now shooting midranges this year and I know this because I know most of the cheesers on 2K. You can't even say play good defense because most of them know the cheesiest crossovers and best pull up animations so when they have space they can easily get green releases.

Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
I'm not sure when the update took in effect last night but I did play The Stage from 7pm-11pm. I run 2 vs. 2 almost exclusively with my friend who is a Center and has Brick Wall (I'm a 6'5 PG). We do pick and roll constantly till either I get a good shot or the guy falls down and we wait for the other defender to make a choice.
And you know what? I did miss some open mid-range shots last night. Not a lot, maybe like 3 in 5 games to give an idea. Shots that I would normally make, but it was evident that there was a change. I missed some open shots, as well as the other team did occasionally.
My friend and I could no longer kill people 21-0, without the other team even having a chance to play. And it is great. It's great knowing when you are playing against a squad where all they do is set a pick with their Center, and have the guy do a behind the back then crossover move all while you're still in the "getting around screen" animation, that he won't make every shot. Because in real life, they don't.Last edited by Jhawkfootball06; 10-07-2015, 03:45 PM.Comment

Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
Hmmmm...I might skip My Park this year...still shocked people are complaining about this. However, I'm really starting to wonder about the defense. I can't wrap my head around the fact that someone is getting that many open shots and hitting at such a high percentage. That just seem humanly impossible.Comment

Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
So yeah, please explain to me why I'm getting higher shot grades for an open 3 point shot than I am for open midrange shots. I haven't gotten over a B from mid unless it's green, but I'm getting B+ and A- from 3. They really lowered it that much, wow.
Edit: Just got my first B+ on mid, but it got followed by an A from 3. Boy.Last edited by Caelumfang; 10-07-2015, 06:08 PM.Comment

Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
People are starting to get badges, learn the temporary boosts, learn the most effective methods, so the results of your feedback is probably going to be skewed because of this.
The amount of bonuses + the ease of corner threes make them much too easy IMO, atm.Comment

Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
Yeah it's weird getting a higher grade for a 3 point field goal than it is for a mid range now. Doesn't make much sense. I see more people tossing up 3's and making them. Haven't played 4v4 in a while but Mid's seemed slightly different. I'm on the 3's court right now so I'll know if the change is drastic or not
**EDIT** Slight change if any on Mid's in the park. 3 point success is definitely higher. Just went 7/7 3 being from downtown.Last edited by TaylorBoi; 10-07-2015, 07:13 PM.Comment
