Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
Not of that particular game but here's two Pure mid range cheese screenshots from last night. I hit greens on about 92% of my releases and they are usually Grade A in quality. Imma take more 3's tonight and see what the stats look like but you can definitely see a difference in shots from downtown. More people are comfortable taking them because the success rate is a little bit higher.Comment

Sounds about right for those two screenshots but I was speaking in general. I played for about 2 hours last night and more 3's were being thrown up than usual since the "update". A lot of people were bricking but I do recall A select few who were nailing 3's Pretty consistently. Mid's are still the way to go if you need an almost for sure bucket.Comment

Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
Has anyone actually played with the changes yet? Curious to hear your feedback... please post it here and I'll keep watching and adjusting if need be. For those claiming a large spike in made 3's, I simply don't believe you. The increase was literally 3%. Middies are what took the biggest hit.
I have a question, are there separate percentages for highly contested standing midrange and highly contested moving midrange or are they grouped together?
I noticed quite a few people have Normal 13 as their Dribble Pull-up because of the fadeaways in the animation set and they were making their fadeaway shots at a higher clip than most of the other fadeaways I noticed.
I would post video clips but I wiped my hard drive of all my capture gallery by mistake last night.PSN: Los_X23

Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
Is it really necessary to make this adjustment to all modes, online and offline, just because a few loud voices think a non-sim online mode doesn't fit their accepted view of what that success rate should be?
I find it really strange that every time there is a whine about online "cheese" 2K and Beluba make changes no matter how harmful those changes are to the other modes.Comment

Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
Just because the specific complaint and desired results are mirrored images of the past does not mean the process is different. The outcry of "cheese" is made, the loudest voices are listened to and Beluba adjusts the rate shots are made.

Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
All I remember being confirmed is that this year's adjustments do not need a full patch to complete and can be made easier - not that offline and online changes will be made separate.
If this adjustment was made(and other online-only complaints in the future) to online modes only, I will be less critical of these types of threads. Until then, I will view them with the jaded eye of experience gained these past years.Comment

Thing is Patch 4 wasn't made because of any claims of cheese. It was made for almost the entire opposite reason-- that something that was already gamey and gimmicky wasn't widely available as people focused on greens more than basketball. It was the Cheese On patch.
So no, the process was entirely opposite of one where the devs overreact to "cheese" claims. In fact over several releases, I have rarely seen the developers reduce cheese in the game too quickly or in a way that hurt the game as a whole.
Maybe midranges are overpowered. Maybe we should test some more and try to achieve simulation results by giving the devs detailed feedback rather than be offhandedly dismissal of a process which we probably needed more of in the past rather than less of.Comment

2K has an easier time adjusting percentages and such on the fly this year, yet before setting the metronome in motion we should have a solid sample size of data to base any corrections on.
The issues seen with transitional defenses was rapidly supported by the community and droves of data was supplied with vids and testimonials. The issues were documented quite fast and had a consensus early.Comment

Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
set it to superstar/sim and hit practice with chris paul and see how it easy it is to get greens
I've posted this in another thread, but I hit 45-50 with 33 greens
it's too easy broComment

Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
the best mid range shooters in the world don't even hit 60% of wide open mid range jumpersComment

Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
Wouldn't the user timing setting dictate this outcome pretty heavily? Especially in freelance practice where there is nothing to alter the success rate.

Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
The only and best workaround since they decided to make Green releases automatic for the casuals is to play on Real Player % and adjust the sliders. That is the only answer.Comment

Re: Mid Range Shot Cheese Is Back With Full Force!
you aren't wrong, but the game is heavily imbalanced towards midrange jumpers
in the post I'm referencing, CP3 hit about 23-50 from 3 with 0 green releases vs 45-50 mid range
that shouldn't be happening.....if they are going to make 3's closer to real life %'s....then mid range should get the same treatmentComment
