Re: Inbound Plays
Re: Inbound Plays
Hey just got to say thank you again. I got it working. Some play suck because you have to wait for the players to make a pass and then he has to walk across. And if anyone touches him. The play becomes broken. You created a roster right? You have to create a roster in order to edit a playbook.
Features / Options ---> Roster Creator ---> Create Roster ---> Choose your base (Usually just use "Official 2K Sports Roster"). Name it, then R2/L2 (PS) or RT/LT (Xbox) to the Edit Plays screen, choose which team's PB you wanna add the plays to, and either replace plays that are in the playbook (if you don't have enough room...remember there's a 50 play limit), or push Triangle/Y to just add plays if you do have enough room.
What I usually do is leave the teams PBs alone, and R1/RB to one of the "User Playbooks" (there are 2), and use them as my guinea pigs. Once you have all the plays in the playbook, push circle/B to exit, and save your roster. (I usually choose "Save Roster" but you can pick "Save and Share Roster" if you wanna upload it to 2K's servers).
Go to "Practice Plays", push Triangle/Y at the team select screen to select your now saved roster (should be at the top, right under the 2K and Injury Free Roster. Once you're in practice plays, go to the start menu (Options button on PS, no clue on Xbox), go down to "Gameplan", scroll over to "Coaching Sliders", and in there, scroll down to Playbook and navigate to whichever playbook you edited.
Now you go to players that have the right play type assigned to them (Mid Range/3pt/Low Post) and you should find the in-bounds plays in there available for you to practice. If you added the plays, as opposed to replacing plays that were previously in the PB, the in-bounds plays should be at the top of the list for each play type.

Re: Inbound Plays
Yeah, it's a pain, but I found it easier that once you know where the pass is supposed to go (I play with full play art on so it's easy to see), you just take control of the player that it goes to (R1 to bring up the icons then pick the right player), and just run him to the spot right away. It's much easier like that.
Also, some of the plays have multiple in-bound targets (like one in the corner, and one on the wing/top), and with the baseline/under the basket plays, keep an eye out for an early cut to the basket, as sometimes that will be there for you.Comment

Re: Inbound Plays
Yes I did notice those quick wide open plays. My problem was switching to the player fast enough to make the play. But like you said there is a lot of plays to branch off of. Since I'm playing with the Grizzles right now. I love the punch plays out of bounds.Yeah, it's a pain, but I found it easier that once you know where the pass is supposed to go (I play with full play art on so it's easy to see), you just take control of the player that it goes to (R1 to bring up the icons then pick the right player), and just run him to the spot right away. Re: Inbound Plays
Was going to create a thread on inbound plays but here it is and I found amazing information, thank you brothers! But I would like to ask, are there inbound plays for baseline and on the side this year's game? And if there are, can I practice both of these inside the practice gym? Thanks!!!Comment

Re: Inbound Plays
Re: Inbound Plays
Is this the complete list or are there more plays in the game? Thanks! You CAN practice in-bounds plays this year, in Practice Plays mode. The plays are littered in with the regular plays, with "base" or "side" in the name. Just add them to a playbook of choice, go into Practice Plays mode, load your roster and they'll be there to practice. Here is a list of all the in-bounding plays, with Quick "2" and "3" designating Mid Range or 3pt, and Punch being Low Post.
Side
Quick Side 3 Up “2”
Quick Side Rip 3 “2”
Quick Side Fade “3”
Quick Side Hammer “3”
Punch Side 14
Baseline
Quick Base 3 Up “2”
Quick Base 12 “2”
Quick Base 23 “2”
Quick Base 32 “3”
Quick Base 41 “3”
Quick Base Rip “3”
Punch Base 35
And yes, there are most definitely some good plays in there.Comment

Re: Inbound Plays
Re: Inbound Plays
One of my favorite things to do on inbound plays is faking out the my opponent on who I'm going to be. It's hilarious that people don't use the passing icons to inbound the ball.

Also I saw a play last night that the Warriors ran.... How about we get this next year?....
One more thing can we get the users to agree to cut the cutscenes together. Instead of one player jamming on the advance button just to see my players just standing without a play called. So I have to either scramble and make some play up on the go. Or call another timeout.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

hey bro, i wanna ask, do you add the inbound plays at the end of the original playbooks? or do each team's pb already have these inbound plays? i am so confused of how to get these inbound plays into the playbook? as i only want to keep maybe 4 inbound plays, 2 for base 2 for side...You created a roster right? Re: Inbound Plays
I put Nash at SG for this game ending play
That was Quick Side Hammer 3.
You can't remove or add for online games (from what I know). You can practice any inbound plays like some else said already. Every inbound play book is exactly alike. Maybe one or 2 different plays. But they are always in the same position.
With FloorGeneral directions you can practice any play you want.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories
