Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
There are indeed some wonky blocks....Don't have a problem with that Lowry block in the video though, considering the circumstances

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
Because nothing outside the realm of possibility happened....If Sef had went for a layup and Lowry dived in for a chase down, that's what I would consider unrealistic...
but swatting the ball out of Sef's hands when he's going up for a two hand dunk like that...I don't mind....
Looking at it in a vacuum like "Lowry blocked Sefolosha! That shouldn't happen!" is like saying "Nate Robinson blocked LBJ/Yao! blocks are ok!"
Gotta look at the entire picture

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
I don't see the problem with the game making low rated blockers have worse hand tracking. It's no different than the game making low rated three point shooters have less success on threes, even with good releases.Comment

Give low rates blockers that 2K15 ball tracking, lol

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
Just like the shooting model and every other mechanic in the game aimed at incorporating both skill and simulation realism.
You know what happens when you allow completely unrealistic results to "give user control"? You get 2K15 Patch 4. You know what happens when you take a hard line on clipping and live ball before it's ready? You get ridiculous elbow and armpit blocks from 2K12. I mean just how dependent are you on non-shot blockers blocking and point guard chasedowns in your defensive gameplan?
I have a higher tolerance for very occasional clipping than you do. I think it should be eliminated as much as possible, but unrealistic non-sim results that encourage non-sim play is NEVER acceptable. See? I can do it too.Last edited by Sundown; 10-22-2015, 09:39 AM.Comment

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
Of course the ideal solution is have the best of both words and have ball tracking for non-blockers avoid clipping, and I think 2K may be able to tone done inappropriate blocks without resorting to clipping.
At any rate I think it's more productive to see what 2K can do to produce sim results that also look good rather than suppose a "keep ridiculous blocks cause otherwise oh noes no control and clippingz!"/black and white/sky is falling mentality with every proposed improvement. Heh.Comment

For example, can Tim Duncan hit a 3? Sure he can. He's a professional basketball player. But it's rare and every blue moon. In 2k16, guards and random guys with low block ratings do that ALL THE TIME. Those that know, knows that those types of plays is the norm for 2k16. U need to recognize there's a difference between something that's the norm and what's rare. Then u need relate that to this game.Comment

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
If my hand guys near the ball. I want a block. Stop driving into the paint expecting it to be free all the time. I don't understand why people just don't try to adjust. I hated it the way it was before. The offensive player could do what he wants in the paint without any penalty.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Blocks are ridiculous!
Gotta look at the entire picture? Exactly!! That's what I need you to do!! It's not that a play like that can't happen or should never happened, because IRL it happens. Problem Is those plays happen way to much and way to often in this game. It's the frequency of it happening is the problem and that's what ppl like yourself don't seem to be able to grasp. Again, big picture bro.

Your trying too hard with the sarcasm and not making much sense.....bro. Not having a hard time grasping anything....nor is there anything I need to recognize...Get over yourself, you're not the only one who watches basketball....
You didn't post a montage of Lowry blocks....or examples like Raider did.....you posted a singular instance that you just admitted could happen....so I commented on it....it's no different than if I posted a singular instance I saw yesterday of JR Smith fouling me attempting a chase down instead of being successful....does that prove blocking is fine? No.
I already stated that some unrealistic blocks take place, but I don't want to go too far to the the end of the spectrum and remove the ability to make a play on the ball either....so yeah....big picture. Using capital letters or singular examples of blocks that could happen aren't proving anything.....

Re: Blocks are ridiculous!
I don't have to post a Montage. There's several videos here already . U either know or you don't. You people kill me. U rebuttal anything someone says about the game as if u like to argue. Then u want some Montage video and play this silly game of "prove it". U have the same game that I have. If after a month u still don't know there's a real problem with the blocks then it's not even worth trying to explain it to u anyway.
You understand that I'm agreeing that there are issues with blocking right?
Read. That's why the people here "kill you".....your not taking the time to process what they're saying. Just kicking your feet and screaming "I'm right, your wrong"
You picked one word out of my response and ran with it.....read again. If you can't do that, then no, it's not worth talking about with you anymore.
